This product is a ready-to-use sterile stock solution, prepared by dissolving Chlortetracycline Hydrochloride in weakly alkaline solution and subjected to sterile treatment. As a broad-spectrum tetracycline-class antibiotic, chlortetracycline exerts bacteriostatic effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It is commonly applied in cell culture to prevent or eliminate contamination caused by mycoplasma, as well as certain Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It can also be used for screening positive clones carrying tetracycline-resistance genes.
