CAS（Chrome azurol S）检测液是一种由铬天青（chrome azurol sulphonate, CAS）、溴化十六烷基三甲铵（hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, HDTMA）和铁离子组成的复合物，呈亮蓝色。 检测原理：当微生物分泌嗜铁素（siderophore）至培养基中时，嗜铁素对铁离子具有更强的亲和力，会从CAS-HDTMA-铁复合物中竞争性夺走铁离子，导致复合物结构发生变化，颜色由亮蓝色转变为橘黄色。因此，CAS液体培养基可用于微生物产嗜铁素能力的定性或半定量检测。
CAS (Chrome Azurol S) Assay Solution is a bright-blue complex composed of chrome azurol sulphonate (CAS), hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HDTMA), and ferric ions. Detection Principle: When microorganisms secrete siderophores into the culture medium, siderophores possess higher affinity for ferric ions and competitively sequester ferric ions from the CAS-HDTMA-iron complex. This triggers structural changes in the complex, accompanied by a colour shift from bright blue to orange-yellow. Accordingly, CAS liquid medium can be applied for qualitative or semi-quantitative detection of siderophore-producing capacity in microorganisms.
