概述
HEL cells are a lymphoblast-like cell line derived from a 30-year-old Caucasian male with malignant erythroleukemia. These cells naturally produce and can be induced to synthesize immunoglobulins. HEL cells are negative for EB virus nuclear antigen, don't express surface immunoglobulins or cytoplasmic immunoglobulins. They express HLA antigens (HLA-A3, AW32, BW35), beta-2 microglobulin, and some cells also express La antigen. HEL cells provide a model for studying erythroid differentiation and immunoglobulin gene expression, resembling hemophilia in mice.
