The Human Factor IXab was activated from homogeneous Human Factor IX by activation with Human Factor XIa. This Factor XIa is removed after activation. Complete activation is observed on SDS-PAGE. The IXab was then inactivated using a commercially available chloromethylketone. This inactivator is removed via dialysis.
The above protein was purified from Human plasma units that test negative for antibodies to HBc, HCV, HIV 1/2, HTLV-I/II, and non reactive for HBsAg, HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA, HBV DNA and Syphilis by FDA approved tests. Donors are screened for CJD.
