Comparative experiments on the toxic effects of local anesthetics

Summary

Comparison of the toxic effects of procaine, bupivacaine and lidocaine.

Operation method

intraperitoneal injection

Principle

Procaine and bupivacaine belong to ester local anesthetics, and lidocaine belongs to amide local anesthetics, improper use of which can have toxic effects on the organism. Healthy mice were injected intraperitoneally with a certain dose of the drugs, and it was observed how the occurrence of toxic reactions to the three drugs was similar and different.

Materials and Instruments

mice
Procaine hydrochloride; bupivacaine hydrochloride; lidocaine hydrochloride
Syringes; beakers; balances; picric acid, etc.

Move

1. 3 healthy mice with similar body weight and activity were selected, weighed and labeled individually.

2. Administer the drugs by intraperitoneal injection in the following order:

(1) A mouse 1% procaine hydrochloride 0.1 ml/10 g;

(2) 0.1 ml/10 g of 1% bupivacaine hydrochloride in rat B;

(3) C rats 1% lidocaine hydrochloride 0.1 ml/10 g.

3. Observe the reaction of each mouse after injection, such as dead or alive. Convulsions and other manifestations and recorded.

Mouse number Drugs post-drug reaction
1 Procaine hydrochloride 1%
2 1% bupivacaine hydrochloride
3 Lidocaine hydrochloride 1%
