Determination of Adverse Drug Reactions in Individual Cases
The procedure for the detection and determination of ADRs should consist of three main processes: first, the physician should make a diagnosis of the adverse condition (event AE) present in the patient and determine the type of disease or syndrome the patient is suffering from; second, he or she should perform an identification of the AE and determine that it is likely to be due to the drug and draw a conclusion about the ADE; and finally, he or she should perform a validation test, thus determining that the ADE is likely to be due to the drug and drawing a conclusion about the ADR.
