Tether Effects in Intramolecular [2+2] Photocycloadditions: Straight and Crossed Regioselectivity and Stepwise C–C Bond Formation
In an intramolecular [2+2] photocycloaddition, two alkenes are connected by a tether. Depending on how the reactive carbon atoms of the two alkenes are paired, two types of regiochemical connectivity can be formed: straight and crossed.
