Adding an appropriate concentration of antibiotics to the cell culture medium can effectively prevent microbial contamination. At present, the most commonly used antibiotics are Penicillin-Streptomycin Solution (100×, Sterile).
Gentamicin-Amphotericin B Solution (100×, Sterile) contains 25 μg/ml amphotericin B. It is prepared with PBS, sterilized by filtration, and can be directly added to the cell culture medium for cell culture. It should be used at a 1:100 dilution; one package (i.e., 100 ml of Gentamicin-Amphotericin B Solution (100×, Sterile)) can be used to prepare 10 L of cell culture medium. This reagent is for research use only and not intended for clinical diagnosis or any other purposes.
Operating Procedures (For Reference Only)
Gentamicin-Amphotericin B Solution (100×, Dual Antibiotics) can be used by either of the following two methods:
1. Direct addition to sterile cell culture medium: Add 5 ml of Gentamicin-Amphotericin B Solution (100×, Sterile) to every 500 ml of cell culture medium, mix well, and it is ready for use.
2. Addition during the preparation of cell culture medium followed by filtration sterilization: Add 10 ml of Gentamicin-Amphotericin B Solution (100×, Sterile) for every 1 L of cell culture medium during preparation. After the medium is prepared, perform filtration sterilization before use.
Precautions
1. Minimize the number of repeated freeze-thaw cycles to avoid a decrease in efficacy.
2. Please use the reagent as soon as possible after opening to prevent adverse effects on subsequent experimental results.
3. Pay attention to aseptic technique and avoid contamination as much as possible.
4. For your safety and health, wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation.
