γ-谷氨酰转移酶（γ-GT）是γ-谷氨酰循环中的关键酶，能够催化GSH或其他γ-谷氨酰基化合物上的γ-谷氨酰基转移至受体，或直接水解生成谷氨酸盐，在细胞外谷胱甘肽代谢中发挥重要作用；本试剂盒的测定原理为γ-GT催化谷氨酰对硝基苯胺的γ-谷氨酰基转移至N-甘氨酰甘氨酸，生成对硝基苯胺，通过测定405 nm处吸光度的增加速率，即可计算γ-GT的酶活性。
γ-Glutamyltransferase (γ-GT) is a key enzyme in the γ-glutamyl cycle, catalyzing the transfer of γ-glutamyl groups from glutathione (GSH) or other γ-glutamyl compounds to acceptors, or directly hydrolyzing them to glutamate. It plays an important role in extracellular glutathione metabolism. This kit is based on the principle that γ-GT catalyzes the transfer of the γ-glutamyl group from γ-glutamyl-p-nitroanilide to glycylglycine, releasing p-nitroaniline. The enzyme activity is calculated by measuring the rate of increase in absorbance at 405 nm.
