This kit employs the veratryl alcohol oxidation method to determine the activity of lignin peroxidase (LiP). The enzyme oxidizes veratryl alcohol to veratraldehyde, which exhibits a characteristic absorption peak at 310 nm. By measuring the rate of increase in absorbance at 310 nm (which is proportional to the amount of veratraldehyde generated), the enzyme activity can be calculated.
