Saturated lithium chloride in ethanol is a commonly used laboratory reagent prepared by dissolving lithium chloride in absolute ethanol. Store sealed at room temperature.

Main applications:

Analytical chemistry: Used as filling solution for reference electrodes such as calomel electrodes, suitable for non-aqueous titration systems.

Molecular biology: Used for RNA precipitation.

Chromatography: Applied in ion chromatography for trace alkaline earth metal detection and size-exclusion chromatography analysis of cellulose.

Note: This solution is nearly saturated. White lithium chloride crystals may precipitate at the bottom of the bottle, which is normal and will not affect reagent performance.
