摘要
Abstract In the present study, the area-selective (droplet contact) electrodeposition technique was used to repair damaged areas of the coating by specifying the track. The influence of different current density process parameters on the microstructure and properties of the repair coating were studied. The results show that, after performing local repair of a specified trajectory, the coating exhibits good protective performance. In the 3.5 wt% NaCl test solution, the corrosion resistance current of the repaired coating can reach up to 5.711 × 10 −6 A, which is nearly 100 times higher than that of the damaged coating (5.732 × 10 −4 A). Electron microscope investigations show that the aggregation of crystalline particles becomes more and more obvious with the increasing repair current density. Tafel and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) show that the repair process improves the corrosion resistance of the damaged Cu coating. Graphic abstract
