摘要
In response to the issue of poor stability in the catalytic decomposition of ozone by manganese oxide catalysts, this study evaluates the ozone decomposition capabilities of octahedral molecular sieves of manganese oxide (OMS-2) doped with various metals. Iron-doped OMS-2 (Fe-OMS-2) was identified as the most structurally compatible catalyst with OMS-2 for further investigation. Performance tests indicated that the OMS-2 doped with 10 % Fe and calcined at 300°C (10 %Fe-OMS-2–300°C) achieved a 100 % ozone conversion rate at the onset of the reaction, with no significant decrease in activity after 24 hours. The characterization analysis showed that the 10 % Fe-OMS-2–300°C presented higher surface area and more oxygen vacancies compared with OMS-2. Furthermore, the reaction mechanism analysis indicated that the Mn 3+ and oxygen vacancies of the 10 % Fe-OMS-2 catalyst were vital for ozone decomposition. The existence of Fe can increase the oxygen vacancies and accelerate electron transfer to promote valence state transitions between Mn species in the material. This paper aims to provide a reference for the development of an efficient, safe, and economical ozone decomposition catalyst.
