摘要
This study explores the effect of graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets on the mechanical and energetic performance of polytetrafluoroethylene/aluminium (PTFE/Al) reactive composites for shielding applications. PTFE/Al mixtures with varying GO content (0–3%) were experimentally and numerically analysed. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) indicated improved PTFE crystallinity and thermal stability with GO addition. Calorimetric bomb tests revealed a 13% increase in calorific power at 3% GO content. EXPLO5 modelling showed higher enthalpy and combustion heat under isobaric conditions but reduced energy release under isochoric conditions, suggesting a more condensed reaction. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) confirmed uniform dispersion of Al and GO within a fibrous PTFE matrix. Compression and split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) tests demonstrated enhanced stiffness, toughness, and energy absorption. This work reveals the dual role of GO, combining graphene’s lightweight, high-performance structure with reactive oxygen functional groups, investigated through both experimental andcomputational methods.
