摘要
Water-lubricated bearings are prone to severe wear under low-speed and heavy load conditions. Improving the tribological properties of bearing materials can effectively improve bearings’ reliability and working life. Ultrahigh molecular weight polyethene (UHMWPE) materials are modified using a silane coupling agent and peroxidant. The tribological properties and interface properties of the material were characterized and verified. The results showed that the cross-linked modified UHMWPE improved the material’s interface properties and wear resistance. The electrostatic potential energy of the material was increased significantly. Under low speed and heavy load conditions, the wear amount dropped by nearly 20%. These research results provide an experimental basis for the functional design and performance enhancement of water-lubricated bearing materials.
