摘要
Bio-based flame retardants are of great significance for ecological environments, sustainable development and human health. Herein, a novel DOPO-based furan-containing flame retardant (FAD) was successfully prepared by DOPO and bio-based compounds (furfural and furfurylamine) via the Schiff base-addition reaction. Subsequently, flame-retardant nonwoven materials with excellent thermal stability, flame retardancy, and carbonization performance were obtained by solution blow spinning technology. The thermal stability and flame-retardant property of the original PLA nonwoven material and the flame-retardant PLA nonwoven materials were analyzed by TGA, LOI, UL-94 flammability tests, and cone calorimetry. Compared to the original PLA nonwoven material, the flame-retardant nonwoven materials showed significantly improved flame-retardant properties. When the addition amount of the flame retardant FAD was 10% (P-FAD-10), the LOI of P-FAD-10 significantly reached 31%, and the peak heat release rate (PHRR) and total heat release (THR) decreased by 14.9% and 21.4%, respectively, compared to the original PLA nonwoven material. Additionally, P-FAD-10 passed the UL-94 V-0 rating with better anti-dripping. This novel P and N-containing bio-based flame retardant FAD and its flame-retardant PLA nonwoven material provide a green and efficient solution for developing high-performance, bio-based flame-retardant nonwoven materials.
