摘要

In clinical practice, hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) concentration in the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) has been regarded as a straightforward biochemical indicator for nonintrusive early periodontitis diagnosis. However, the complex composition of the GCF samples from periodontitis patients presents significant challenges for achieving highly sensitive and accurate H 2 O 2 detection. Here, we synthesized cobalt-based metal–organic framework nanofibers (Co-MOF NFs) with ultrahigh surface area to construct a highly sensitive electrochemical sensor, achieving a low H 2 O 2 detection limit in the real GCF samples. Benefitting from large surface area (1704.2 m 2 ·g −1 ) and high H 2 O 2 redox ability of Co-MOF NFs, the prepared electrochemical sensor exhibited a wide detection range (0.5 μM–5 mM), low detection limit (0.05 μM), and high sensitivity (273.07 μA·mM −1 ·cm −2 ). Moreover, the synthesized electrochemical sensor exhibited excellent accuracy and anti-interference ability in the real GCF samples. After periodontitis treatment, the concentration of H 2 O 2 in real GCF samples detected by a fabricated sensor is significantly reduced, which is highly consistent with diagnostic results of periodontitis patients, including intraoral scanning photos and dental panoramic radiographs. The results of this study highlight the potential of synthesized Co-MOF NFs-based electrochemical sensors as an alternative with clinical value in the early diagnosis of periodontitis.
