摘要
Epoxy coatings frequently encounter scaling issues in industrial applications, where the microenvironment beneath the scaling layer often accelerates corrosion and promotes bacterial growth. To address this challenge, an epoxy coating fabricated by electrostatic spraying was modified with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), and nanosilica—materials with low surface energy—to enhance its antiscaling properties. The incorporation of functional components increased the water contact angle of the coating from 92° to 145°, demonstrating a significant enhancement in hydrophobicity and antiadhesion properties. Due to the abundance of nonpolar groups and the formation of an air cushion underwater, the fabricated coating exhibited excellent antiscaling and anticorrosion properties. Compared to the pure epoxy coating, the newly developed antiscaling coating demonstrated significantly improved electrochemical performance, with current density decreasing from 3.68 × 10 −11 A/cm 2 to 5.81 × 10 −12 A/cm 2 and impedance increasing from 1590 Ω cm 2 to 3.9 × 10 8 Ω cm 2 . More notably, the coating demonstrated significantly enhanced antiscaling performance, with its average inhibition rates against BaSO 4 and SrSO 4 scaling increasing from 43.7% to 64.7% and from 41.8% to 65.2%, respectively. Combined with its excellent durability, these results demonstrate the coating's significant potential for industrial anticorrosion and antifouling applications.
