A pH-sensitive polyurethane hydrogel incorporated with anthocyanins for wound dressing

In order to monitor the wound healing status with the naked eye, a pH-sensitive polyurethane hydrogel (PUH-DCT) was prepared by incorporated with anthocyanins as a wound dressing. Results showed that the color of PUH-DCT changed from pale violet to deep violet then to blue when the pH increased from 5.0 to 9.0. PUH-DCT had good porous structures, mechanical properties, and swelling behavior. PUH-DCT was antibacterial, non-hemolytic, and cytocompatible, which appears very promising applications as a wound dressing. Graphical abstract
