A commercially available NIR fluorescence probe for the detection of hypochlorite and its application in cell imaging

In this paper, a method for the determination of hypochlorite by near-infrared spectroscopy was reported, which was conducted by a commercially available dye cresol violet ( CVA ) for the determination of hypochlorite (ClO − ). Probe CVA was used as fluorescent reagent to detect hypochlorite efficiently and selectively. The detection method showed high sensitivity to hypochlorite, and the detection limit was as low as 56 nM. Most importantly, the detection process was easy-handling, fast, sensitive, and could be introduced in cell imaging experiments.
