摘要
Current nanofibrous membranes demonstrate unique advantages in encapsulating active substances for extending food freshness, but their practical applications are limited by safety concerns from high-voltage electric fields and complex facility requirements. To address these issues, we developed myricetin (Myr)-loaded thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) nanofibrous membranes (TPU@Myr n ) via solution blow spinning (SBS). This technique enables direct deposition onto produce surfaces for in-situ packaging without electrical hazards. The resulting membranes exhibited smooth and uniform fiber morphology with excellent mechanical properties. The optimized formulation, TPU@Myr 7 (7% myricetin loading), demonstrated strong antioxidant activity with free radical scavenging rates exceeding 90%, and effective antibacterial activity against both Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus (99.4% and 99.2% inhibition, respectively). Crucially, TPU@Myr 7 achieved sustained release of Myr over 4 days, significantly reducing strawberry spoilage during 10 days preservation. Meanwhile, the membrane exhibited good biocompatibility, and can be safely used for food contact. This work demonstrates the potential of myricetin-loaded nanofibers for in-situ fruit packaging, providing a flexible, safe, and scalable packaging solutions for post-harvest preservation applications.
