摘要
The MgO-CaO-SiO 2 (MCS) glass system is widely studied due to its applications in various industries, including construction, electronics, and biomedical applications. Although glass materials are known to potentially possess simultaneously corrosion resistance, a relatively high mechanical strength, and an adjustable thermal expansion coefficient, achieving high performance in this glass system remains a long-standing challenge. Herein, we systematically investigated the effects of changes in the CaO/MgO ratio on the structure and properties of the glass, using MCS multicomponent amorphous glass as the target. The results show that with the increase of MgO content, the glass is gradually transformed from a loose network to a dense network, which is manifested by the evolution of Tg and network rigidity, the decreasing trend of CTE, and the redistribution of Q n structural units, BO/NBO ratio, and the local structural relaxation behavior of the glass network skeleton. Moreover, Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ exert both synergistic and competitive effects on the amorphous network structure, thereby significantly enhancing the visible light transmittance, mechanical properties, and chemical stability of the glass. This study not only reveals the mechanism of CaO/MgO double alkaline earth ions in silicate amorphous systems, but also provides a new idea and experimental basis for realizing the precise regulation of glass structure-properties through the design of ion ratios.
