摘要

A silk inspired triple hydrogen bonding gelator, NASA with multiple functional groups was synthesized. • PNASA supramolecular coating showed strong antifouling abilities. • A triple hydrogen-bond engineered hydration layer was formed on the PNASA coating surface. Hydration layer formed by strong hydrogen bonding is an alternative candidate strategy for antifouling coating used for implanted biomedical device. Inspired from the high serine content and low immune reaction of silk, N-Acryloyl serinamide (NASA) was successful synthesized to prepare triple hydrogen-bonded-engineered poly(N-Acryloyl serinamide) (PNASA) supramolecular coating. The chemical structure of NASA showed active triple hydrogen bond sites that easily bonded with itself, water, and other molecules. Therefore, PNASA supramolecular coating was self-assembly formed by chain entanglement and hydrogen bond, and the crosslinking network was filled with triple hydrogen bonding domains. The results revealed PNASA supramolecular coating was endowed with tunable hydrophilicity and superior antibiofouling due to the strong surface hydration abilities, which resisted non-specific protein adsorption, platelets adhesion, bacterial and cell attachment effectively. Additionally, the low hemolysis and high viability proved the good biocompatibility of PNASA supramolecular coating. Therefore, PNASA supramolecular coating shows great potential in biomedicine containing tissue engineering, implanted biomedical devices, and organoids.
