摘要
Excessive fluoride ions in aquatic environments pose serious threats to ecosystems and human health, highlighting the urgent need for efficient adsorption materials. In this study, a 0.2CeO 2 /La 2 O 2 CO 3 composite was synthesized via a hydrothermal‑calcination method for deep fluoride removal, achieving a maximum adsorption capacity of 56.18 mg/g, which surpasses those of its individual constituents. Comprehensive characterization and theoretical calculations reveal that the adsorption mechanism is attributed to the combined action of ion exchange forming CeF 3 /LaF 3 accompanied by Ce 4 ⁺ reduction, electron‑relay synergy of dual‑metal sites (Ce 3 ⁺/La 3 ⁺) at the heterointerface, as well as electrostatic attraction and surface complexation. This multi‑pathway synergy not only enhances the adsorption capacity but also ensures high selectivity and good regenerability. This study provides a theoretical basis and a practical strategy for the design of highly selective fluoride removal materials.
