摘要

A polystyrene-based foam with excellent mechanical properties was prepared. • The synergistic effect of low surface energy and micro-nano rough structure provides excellent anti-adhesion performance against high-temperature oil and water, enabling the material to effectively separate high-temperature emulsions. • The high tortuosity factor of the 3D microporous material ensures high separation efficiency, while the fluid shear force generated under applied pressure effectively expels the demulsified internal phases, thereby ensuring long-term separation of high-temperature emulsions. The separation of water from high-temperature emulsions in real time remains highly challenging due to the potential failure of material wettability. In this study, we develop a thermally stable oleophobic/hydrophobic microporous polystyrene-based foam (FPEI/MoS 2 PS foam) by combining a low-surface-energy fluorinated coating with a micro-nano rough structure. The foam was fabricated via a high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) templating method to construct a 3D microporous structure. Subsequently, MoS 2 was grown on the foam skeleton through a hydrothermal process, followed by the covering of a fluorinated polyethyleneimine (FPEI) functional coating. The resulting foam exhibits a rough microporous structure and thermally stable oleophobic/hydrophobic wettability (WCA and OCA above 128° even at 90 °C). Within a temperature range of 60–90 °C, the material effectively separates surfactant-free emulsions, surfactant-stabilized emulsions, and real industrial emulsions from diesel cracking processes. For W/D ⁎ (surfactant-free water in diesel emulsion), W/D (surfactant-stabilized water in diesel emulsion) and real industrial emulsions at 90 °C, the permeation flux reached 4600, 3050, and 1700 L m −2  h −1 , respectively, with all separation efficiencies exceeded 98%.
