摘要
Advances in hydrogen energy technology require the urgent development of electrocatalysts suitable for urea-assisted and overall water splitting. This study successfully synthesized a trifunctional electrocatalyst featuring an iridium-doped NiV LDH structure via a simple hydrothermal method. NiVIr LDH-4 shows remarkable trifunctional catalytic activity. It operates stably for over 100 h at a current density of 100 mA cm −2 in HER, OER, and UOR processes, as well as in overall water splitting and urea-assisted water splitting systems. These results provide a promising strategy for the development of advanced electrocatalysts that enable energy‑efficient hydrogen production alongside simultaneous remediation of urea‑laden wastewater.
