摘要
In photocatalytic systems, the coupling of redox reactions plays a significant role in determining overall catalytic performance. However, current research predominantly focuses on individual half-reactions while neglecting the integrated redox system. Herein, we demonstrate an efficient coupling system combining ethylene glycol (EG) oxidation with water reduction for hydrogen evolution using single-atom Pt/TiO 2 catalyst. The system simultaneously drives two-electron oxidation of EG to value-added glycolaldehyde and two-electron reduction of water to H 2 , achieving remarkable photocatalytic performance with glycolaldehyde and hydrogen production rates of 3852 μmol g cat −1 h −1 and 3524 μmol g cat −1 h −1 , respectively. Mechanistic studies reveal that single-atom Pt sites regulate the interfacial charge distribution of TiO 2 , thereby facilitating EG oxidation and promoting electron accumulation on adjacent Ti sites for H 2 O reduction to hydrogen. This work not only provides fundamental insights into the design principles of coupled redox systems but also establishes a theoretical framework for single-atom catalysts in synergistic photocatalytic reactions.
