摘要
In-situ ZIF-8 growth on polyester enables salt/auxiliary-free dyeing with weak acid dyes at room temperature, eliminating high-temperature high-pressure process. • ZIF-8 coating provides abundant active sites for efficient weak acid dye adsorption without salts or dispersants. • PDMS modification confers superhydrophobicity (153.6°), UV protection (UPF 59.58), and oil-water separation. • The composite fabric shows outstanding washing/abrasion resistance and maintains ∼100% separation efficiency after 20 cycles. Conventional polyester dyeing is energy-intensive, water-consuming, and reliant on salts and dispersants, while the finished fabrics lack multifunctionality. Here, we report a sustainable strategy that integrates clean dyeing with multifunctional finishing of polyester fabrics. This strategy is achieved via in-situ growth of zeolitic imidazolate framework ZIF-8. Alkali pretreatment introduces hydroxyl and carboxyl groups on the fiber surface, which enables uniform ZIF-8 growth to construct a micro/nano-rough architecture with abundant active sites and positive surface charge. This architecture allows efficient adsorption dyeing with weak acid dyes at room temperature — completely eliminating salts, dispersants, and the conventional high-temperature high-pressure process. Subsequent PDMS modification imparts superhydrophobicity (water contact angle: 153.6°), UV protection (UPF: 59.58), and excellent oil–water separation efficiency (∼100% after 20 cycles), while the dyed fabric achieves a color depth (K/S) of 8.75 with good fastness. Notably, this one-step integration of dyeing and functionalization eliminates energy-intensive steps, reduces chemical usage, and enables room-temperature processing. This work offers a green, low-carbon pathway for multifunctional polyester textiles with promising applications in oily wastewater treatment.
