摘要

High-temperature strain measurement above 1300 °C remains challenging because conventional thin-film strain gauges suffer from oxidation, resistance drift, and long-term instability. Herein, a Pt-Ir10 wire-wound strain gauge was fabricated using a self-developed winding apparatus, and the strain-sensing performance was systematically characterized from room temperature to 1300 °C. The sensor exhibited a room-temperature gauge factor of 2.12 and maintained a clear dynamic strain response at 1300 °C. A 5 h dwell test at 1300 °C showed an average resistance drift rate of 0.681%/h, and a continuous cyclic loading–unloading test at 1300 °C for approximately 7 h (about 8000 cycles) was conducted without signal interruption or sensing failure. Under high-temperature conditions, the average gauge factor at 1300 °C was 1.01. In addition, the influence of grid number on high-temperature sensitivity was investigated. Under the geometric parameters and fabrication process adopted in this work, the five-grid structure exhibited the highest average gauge factor among the investigated configurations. These results demonstrate the feasibility of the Pt-Ir10 wire-wound strain gauge for strain measurement in extreme high-temperature environments.
