摘要
Colitis is an intestinal disorder characterized by colonic mucosal or submucosal inflammation. Probiotic intervention is a potential biotherapeutic strategy for adjuvant colitis management. This study evaluated the effects of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum HYY-DB36 ( L. plantarum DB36) using a dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced murine colitis model. Key findings: compared with the DSS model group, L. plantarum DB36 significantly ameliorated colonic histopathological damage and inflammation, elevated intestinal short-chain fatty acid levels, suppressed harmful bacteria proliferation, and promoted beneficial bacteria enrichment. In conclusion, L. plantarum DB36 has great potential for adjuvant colitis therapy, with its role in modulating intestinal microbial homeostasis supporting its promise as a probiotic resource for alleviating colitis symptoms.
