Photocatalytic technologies capable of using solar energy for environmental restoration have much progressed with the increasing environmental concern. In this study, the ternary photocatalyst Ag 3 PO 4 /NG/g-C 3 N 4 conforming to the Z-scheme mechanism was prepared by a facile in-situ deposition method . Its morphology, chemical composition and optical property were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Such photocatalyst (0.50 g/L loading) achieved the highest 93.6% degradation rate of tetracycline (TC), and 72% mineralization rate of TC comparing with single Ag 3 PO 4 (25% mineralization rate of TC). The detection of reactive oxidative species indicates that the photodegradation of TC is mainly caused by holes, O 2 − and OH. The synergistic effect of Ag 3 PO 4 , nitrogen-doped graphene (NG) and g-C 3 N 4 in the composite accelerates the separation and migration of photogenerated carrier via a solid electron mediator NG , and simultaneously inhibits the photo-corrosion of Ag 3 PO 4 , thereby improving the photo-stability of the ternary photocatalyst.

In recent years, the frequent eutrophication of water bodies around the world has led to the accumulation of microcystins (MC-LR) in water bodies, causing great harm to humans and aquatic organisms. In this study, a Z-scheme Ag 3 PO 4 /NG/PI composite photocatalyst was fabricated by using silver orthophosphate, nitrogen-doped graphene and polyimide for photocatalytic degradation of MC-LR under visible light irradiation. The structure, morphology and optical properties of Ag 3 PO 4 /NG/PI were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, FT-IR, BET, and UV–vis DRS. The degradation ratio of MC-LR by Ag 3 PO 4 /NG/PI photocatalysts was higher (up to 94.4%) than that of pure Ag 3 PO 4 for MC-LR degradation within 10 h under visible light irradiation, and the kinetic constant over Ag 3 PO 4 /NG/PI was ∼7 times of pure Ag 3 PO 4 . Based on the results of Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (LC–MS), the possible degradation pathways of MC-LR were proposed. Photoelectrochemistry measurement (the photocurrent response, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and Mott-Schottky plots), radical trapping experiment, electron spin resonance test, PL spectroscopy and analysis of band gap have revealed that the photocatalysis of Ag 3 PO 4 /NG/PI follows the Z-scheme mechanism, which can not only promote the separation and migration of photogenerated carriers to reduce re-combination, but also maintain a strong redox capacity. Meanwhile, the stability of Ag 3 PO 4 /NG/PI photocatalyst is greatly improved because the photogenerated electrons (e − ) of Ag 3 PO 4 are migrated to NG to suppress the photo-corrosion of Ag 3 PO 4 .

Ag3PO4/sulfur-doped g-C3N4 heterojunctions were fabricated by the means of a facile calcination and co-precipitation method. Structural characterization suggested that Ag3PO4 was successfully loaded onto sulfur-doped
g-C3N4. The absorption band edges of sulfur-doped g-C3N4 were shifted to the longer wavelength in comparison with bulk g-C3N4. The Ag3PO4/sulfur-doped g-C3N4 heterojunctions manifested
substantially higher visible-light photocatalytic performance as compared with Ag3PO4/bulk g-C3N4. Photoluminescence spectra suggested that the stable Ag3PO4/SGCN heterojunctions could effectively address the electron—hole
recombination rate, together with remarkably enhancing the photocatalytic activity. The enhancement of light absorption and better dispersion in Ag3PO4/sulfur-doped g-C3N4 provide more migration channels, together with posing crucial responsibility
for the enhanced photocatalytic performance.

The degradation of cefazolin (CFZ) by Ag 3 PO 4 /BiOBr composites under visible-light irradiation was explored. The main and interaction of parameters (catalyst dosage, pH, CFZ initial concentration and degradation time) on removal of CFZ were studied by Box–Behnken design combined with response surface methodology. The pH was the most influential factor and both h + and OH played a role in the photocatalytic process. The high correlation coefficients (R 2 = 0.9986 and adjusted R 2 = 0.9973) demonstrated close fit between the predicted and experimental values. The exceptional efficiency of Ag 3 PO 4 /BiOBr composite in removing CFZ represents a promising technique for treatment of CFZ-containing wastewater.

The novel visible-light-driven 3DOM-SrTiO 3 /Ag/Ag 3 PO 4 ternary composites were fabricated and used as photocatalysts in the degradation of organic contaminants, including RhB, phenol , and MB. Through the XRD, SEM, TEM, DR UV–vis, XPS, PL spectroscopy, N 2 sorption , and photoelectrochemical measurement, the obtained 3DOM-SrTiO 3 /Ag/Ag 3 PO 4 ternary composites were well characterized. The effects of SrTiO 3 :Ag 3 PO 4 molar ratio and stop-bands of 3DOM-SrTiO 3 on the catalytic performance were systemically investigated. 3DOM-SrTiO 3 /Ag/Ag 3 PO 4 ternary composite photocatalysts exhibited notably enhanced activity compared with single 3DOM-SrTiO 3 and Ag 3 PO 4 catalyst. Among these ternary photocatalysts, S35A65(300) exhibited the most excellent photocatalytic performance under visible light irradiation, which could be mainly attributed to synergy effect of the notably improved separate efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs and the suitable stop-bands of 3DOM-SrTiO 3 (300) material. Although the gradually reduced activity in cycling tests was obtained over S35A65(300) under visible light irradiation, an excellent durability could be achieved for S35A65(300) under UV–vis light irradiation. No obvious loss in photocatalytic efficiency was observed after six cycles for RhB degradation. The notably improved enhanced durability of 3DOM-SrTiO 3 /Ag/Ag 3 PO 4 ternary composites under UV–vis light irradiation could be mainly attributed to the Z-scheme mechanism of this ternary composite photocatalyst.

A novel ternary composite photocatalyst of nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (NCQDs)/tetrapods silver phosphate (Ag 3 PO 4 )/silver (Ag) nanoparticles was designed and fabricated. Kelvin probe force microscopy and in-situ irradiated X-ray photoelectron spectrum demonstrated the cooperative action between the S-scheme heterojunction and Schottky junction within this ternary composite system, which facilitate efficient dual-channel charge transfer and achieve high oxidation potential. Moreover, the incorporating of persulfate into the photocatalytic reaction system enhanced the capture of photogenerated electrons, while the generated SO 4 -· radicals further improved photocatalytic reaction efficiency. Consequently, the NCQDs/Ag 3 PO 4 /Ag photocatalyst exhibited remarkable photocatalytic performance for the removal of ciprofloxacin (CIP). The mineralization rate of CIP over NCQDs/Ag 3 PO 4 /Ag photocatalyst activated by persulfate was about 6.7 times greater compared to the bare Ag 3 PO 4 photocatalyst. Additionally, four potential pathways for the photocatalytic degradation of CIP were proposed utilizing the LC-MS analysis. Furthermore, this ternary composite photocatalyst not only demonstrated high cyclic stability but also exhibited robust photocatalytic activity in systems containing coexisting anions, cations or various natural water sources, thereby exhibiting its application potential for antibiotic degradation in real environmental settings.

To address the bottlenecks of low photocatalytic activity and poor stability in Ag₃PO₄, this study proposes a dual-defect synergistic modulation strategy by simultaneously incorporating Mo doping and oxygen vacancies (OVs) into the Ag₃PO₄ lattice. Systematic hybridization of experimental characterizations and density functional theory (DFT) simulations demonstrates that Mo²⁺ substitution at Ag⁺ lattice sites induces distinctive intermediate states, effectively red-shifting the optical absorption edge to the near-infrared region (700 nm). Concurrently, oxygen vacancies within the bulk phase function as electron scavengers, extending carrier lifetime to 13.5 ns through dynamic charge delocalization. At the atomic interface, surface-anchored OVs regulate local charge distribution, enabling directed OH⁻ migration to Ag active sites and significantly reducing the kinetic barrier for • OH radical formation. The optimized 2 %Mo-Ag₃PO₄ exhibits exceptional visible-light-driven tetracycline mineralization, achieving 93 % degradation efficiency within 30 min while retaining 83 % activity over five catalytic cycles. Band structure modulation ensures a valence band hole (+2.41 V)-dominated h⁺/ • OH degradation pathway. This study establishes a theoretical framework and technical paradigm for dual-defect cooperative optimization in photocatalyst design.

In this paper, a new supramolecular Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst, designated as Ag/Ag 3 PO 4 /Perylene diimide organic molecules after secondary acid-base self-assembly (PDI-2), was synthesized through precipitation and photoreduction techniques. Ag/Ag 3 PO 4 /60 %PDI-2 (APP-6) exhibited the best photocatalytic activity due to the synergistic effect of Z-scheme heterojunction and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect of Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs). Under visible light (λ > 420 nm), the degradation efficiency of APP-6 for Rhodamine B (RhB) and Bisphenol A (BPA) was 99.7 % and 90.7 %, respectively. Additionally, PDI-2 was transformed into smaller nanoclusters, which increased the specific surface area of the photocatalyst, and reduced the charge transport distance. Moreover, APP-6 exhibited the smallest electrochemical impedance, the largest photocurrent, the smallest fluorescence lifetime. Free radical trapping experiments showed that •O 2 − was the main reactive group and a possible photocatalytic mechanism was proposed by combining the Ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectrophotometer (UV–vis DRS) and the Mott-Schottky plots.

Effective catalytic methods and catalysts for the simultaneous removal of coexisting organic pollutants and heavy metal ions are crucial for sustainable and environmentally friendly water purification. Herein, flower-like S-scheme In 2 Se 3 @Ag 3 PO 4 heterojunctions were synthesized by a two-step hydrothermal method for simultaneous removal of uranium (VI) (U(VI)) and organic pollutants using piezo-photocatalysis. Characterization and theoretical calculations confirmed the formation of the heterojunction, highlighting the significance of In O and Se P bonds in the S-scheme for enhancing photocatalytic reactions by improving charge carrier separation and migration. Additionally, the piezoelectric polarization electric field can also improve photocatalytic performance. The optimized In 2 Se 3 @Ag 3 PO 4 –3 catalyst demonstrated superior piezo-photocatalytic performance in synergistically removing U(VI) and degrading organics, such as tetracycline (TC), bisphenol A (BPA), carbamazepine (CBZ), levofloxacin (LVX), and norfloxacin (NOR). Particularly, in the presence of TC, the catalyst achieved 98.7 % U(VI) removal, and 94.1 % TC degradation within 30 min. This study introduces a promising strategy and a novel heterojunction catalyst with dual functional properties for the simultaneous treatment of wastewater containing organic pollutants and U(VI).

Although Ag3PO4possessed high quantum yield (approximately 90%) and strong oxidation potential, its practical application was limited due to serious photocorrosion and inadequate stability. To improve the anti-photocorrsion ability, carbon nitride quantum dots (CNQDs) were loaded on octopod-like Ag3PO4with {110}-faceted rhombic dodecahedrons. The CNQDs stabilized the high-energy {110} facets via carboxylate-mediated interactions, facilitating oriented assembly into 3D octopod configurations. More importantly, a Z-scheme heterojunction was constructed between CNQDs and Ag3PO4for electrons transfer from Ag3PO4to CNQDs, which could not only maintain strong redox potentials but also suppress carrier recombination. The 12.5%CNQDs/Ag3PO4composite achieved a more than 90% removal of methyl orange within 13 min. Radical trapping and EPR analyses indicated that holes of Ag3PO4played a dominant role in organics degradation. In addition, •O2−, which was generated from the O2reduction by photogenerated electrons of CNQDs, also participated in the degradation of organics. This work provides a facet-controlled heterojunction design strategy, leveraging quantum-confined CNQDs to enhance charge kinetics and molecular oxygen activation.

CCN is constructed in a single step via supramolecular self-assembly. • CCN/AP-175 eliminates 96.04% of CTC within 60 min under visible light. • The catalyst exhibits anti-interference capability and robust cyclic stability. • Honeycomb porosity synergizes with the Z-scheme for boosted performance. Conventional g-C 3 N 4 photocatalysts are limited in degrading antibiotics and other micropollutants due to rapid recombination of photogenerated electron–hole pairs. Herein, a highly porous carbon-doped polymeric carbon nitride (CCN) with an super-porous architecture was synthesized via the self-assembly of melamine, cyanuric acid, and barbituric acid, followed by in situ anchoring of Ag 3 PO 4 nanoparticles onto the CCN framework through an ion-exchange precipitation method, yielding a hierarchical porous CCN/ Ag 3 PO 4 (CCN/AP) Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst. The optimized CCN/AP-175 achieved 96.04% removal of chlortetracycline (CTC) under visible-light irradiation for 60 min, with a pseudo-first-order rate constant 1.56, 2.23, and 1.55 times higher than those of pristine CCN, pure Ag 3 PO 4 , and conventional nonporous g-C 3 N 4 /Ag 3 PO 4 (CN/AP), respectively. BET, UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, photoluminescence, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy analyses revealed that the hierarchical porosity combined with the Z-scheme heterojunction not only significantly enhanced the specific surface area but also facilitated effective separation and transfer of photogenerated charge carriers. Reactive species trapping experiments and electron spin resonance confirmed that photogenerated holes (h⁺) play a dominant role in CTC degradation. Furthermore, UV–vis DRS and Mott–Schottky measurements corroborated the Z-scheme charge transfer mechanism. Systematic studies of catalyst dosage, initial CTC concentration, solution pH, and coexisting anions demonstrated sustained high degradation performance under diverse conditions. Notably, after four consecutive cycles, the catalyst maintained over 80% removal efficiency with no significant structural deterioration, highlighting its excellent stability. This work offers a viable strategy for designing high-performance porous photocatalysts for practical antibiotic remediation. g-C3N4/Ag3PO4/TiO2nanocomposite materials were loaded onto a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane using a phase inversion method to obtain a photocatalytic flat membrane for dye removal. The morphology, structure, and photocatalytic activity of the g-C3N4/Ag3PO4/TiO2nanoparticles and composite membrane were evaluated. The g-C3N4/Ag3PO4/TiO2/PVDF membrane exhibited superior morphology, hydrophilic properties, and antifouling performance compared with the raw PVDF membrane. Four-stage filtration was performed to evaluate the self-cleaning and antifouling capacity of the g-C3N4/Ag3PO4/TiO2/PVDF membrane. Upon irradiating the composite membrane with visible light for 30 min, its irreversible fouling resistance (Rir) was low (9%), and its flux recovery rate (FRR) was high (71.0%) after five filtration cycles. The removal rate of rhodamine B (RhB) from the composite membrane under visible light irradiation reached 98.1% owing to the high photocatalytic activity of the membrane, which was superior to that of raw PVDF membrane (42.5%). A mechanism of photocatalytic composite membranes for RhB degradation was proposed. Therefore, this study is expected to broaden prospects in the field of membrane filtration technology.Keywords:g-C3N4/Ag3PO4/TiO2nanocomposite;photocatalytic membrane;self-cleaning;membrane fouling;dye
