A novel molecularly imprinted electrochemiluminescence (MIP-ECL) sensor based on Ru(bpy) 3 2+ -doped silica nanoparticles (Ru@SiO 2 NPs) is developed for highly sensitive detection of fumonisin B 1 (FB 1 ). Gold-nanoparticles (AuNPs), Ru@SiO 2 NPs with chitosan (CS) composites and a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) are assembled on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to fabricate an ECL platform step by step. AuNPs could greatly promote the ECL intensity and improve the analytical sensitivity according to the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) and the electrochemical effect . In this surface-enhanced electrochemiluminescence (SEECL) system, AuNPs work as the LSPR source to improve the ECL intensity and Ru@SiO 2 NPs are used as ECL luminophores. In the phosphate buffer solution (PBS), the evident anodic ECL of Ru@SiO 2 on the above working electrode is observed in the presence of the template molecule fumonisin B 1 (FB 1 ), which could act as the coreactant of Ru@SiO 2 NPs due to the amino group of FB 1 . When the template molecules were eluted from the MIP, little coreactant was left, resulting in an apparent decrease of ECL signal. After the MIP-ECL sensor was incubated in FB 1 solution, the template molecules rebound to the MIP surface , leading to the enhancement of ECL signal again. On the basis of these results, a facile MIP-ECL sensor has been successfully fabricated, which exhibited a linear range from 0.001 to 100 ng mL −1 with a detection limit of 0.35 pg mL −1 for FB 1 . Moreover, the proposed MIP-ECL sensor displayed an excellent application in real samples.

In this study, a magnetic Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @La 2 O 3 nano-catalyst with a core–shell structure was synthesized to improve the efficiency of catalytic ozonation of cinnamyl alcohol. The structure, morphology, and elemental composition of the catalyst were analyzed with the help of catalyst characterization methods. The mechanism of strengthened degradation efficiency and mineralization of cinnamyl alcohol in catalytic ozonation system in the existence of the catalyst were further discussed according to the analysis results. The results showed that the Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @La 2 O 3 catalyst can not only greatly improve the degradation of cinnamyl alcohol, but also has good reusability and stability. And its economic efficiency is relatively good. The degradation rate of cinnamyl alcohol could reach up to 99.8% at 30 min, and the COD could be removed by 28.5% at 60 min with the help of the catalyst. The degradation efficiency of cinnamyl alcohol by ozone oxidation alone was only 52.1% at 30 min, and the COD removal rate was only 24.2% at 60 min in the same experimental conditions. Besides, the possible degradation pathway and degradation mechanism of cinnamyl alcohol were proposed according to the intermediate products detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Graphical The porous amorphous ASA(Si/Al=20) was quickly synthesized by gel-gel method in one step, and used to catalyze γ-valerolactone (GVL) to butane. It has large specific surface area (430.20 m 2 g −l ), suitable Brønsted/Lewis ratio (0.66) and enough weak acid site content (0.5554 mmol g −1 ). Under the optimized reaction conditions, 90 % butene yield can be obtained in 180 min at 300 °C. In this study, porous amorphous SiO 2 −Al 2 O 3 (ASA(Si/Al= x )) with different Si/Al ratios was synthesized by gel-gel method, and used to catalyze green renewable energy source γ-valerolactone (GVL) to butene. Research indicated that all prepared catalysts had large amounts of disordered mesoporous with the pore size in range of 2–13 nm. For the optimal ASA(Si/Al=20) catalyst, its specific surface area is 430.20 m 2 g −l and pore size is about 8.13 nm. Due to the presence of suitable Al species, ASA(Si/Al=20) has the largest Brønsted/Lewis ratio and 0.5554 mmol g −1 weak acid site content. Under the optimized reaction conditions, 90 % butene yield can be obtained in 180 min at 300 °C. In addition, the regeneration performance of the ASA(Si/Al=20) catalyst is also satisfactory, and the yield of butene can be above 60 % after 5 th cycles. After activation, the spent catalyst can be regenerated, and about 78 % butene yield can be also obtained.

In this work, flexible and hierarchical structured MnO 2 -ZnO/SiO 2 nanofibrous membranes (NFMs) as easily recyclable Fenton-like catalysts have been developed utilizing the combination of electrospinning and a hydrothermal growth method. By capitalizing the advantages of the high specific surface area and synergism effects of bimetallic oxides, the optimal membranes exhibited prominent catalytic activity in the degradation of malachite green oxalate (MGO). Specifically, within a mere 15 min at an initial pH, 98.1% of MGO was degraded, demonstrating a remarkable degradation rate of 0.2744 min −1 . Free radical scavenging experiments and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance studies conclusively identified superoxide radical species (O 2 •– ) as the main reactive species for the degradation of MGO. Furthermore, the resultant flexible membranes displayed excellent stability and could be effortlessly recycled after catalytic process, surpassing the performance of conventional powdery Fenton-like catalysts. Notably, the resultant membranes could be used for dynamic catalyst for MGO removal and could efficiently treat 418 mL MGO with a flux of 5650.5 L m −2 h −1 . The successful fabrication of these MnO 2 -ZnO/SiO 2 membranes paves the way for the development of more efficient and applicable Fenton-like catalytic materials for water treatments and offers more inspirations for innovative designs of fiber-based or membrane-based catalysts.

Ice accumulation is an important challenge for daily life and industrial production. The photothermal effect offers a promising approach for active de-icing to address this issue. While the photothermal effect of polyphenol-metal ion complex is extensively studied in photothermal cancer therapy, its application in de-icing remains relatively unexplored. Herein, a durable photothermal superhydrophobic coating was designed by combining F-SiO 2 @Tp/Fe (Tea polyphenol-Fe 3+ ) nanoparticles and silicone resin using a one-step spray method. Due to the unique micro-nano structure, the resulting coating exhibited excellent superhydrophobicity, characterized by water contact angle (CA) of up to 159° and sliding angle (SA) of less than 2.5°. Additionally, the coating demonstrated reliable mechanical durability and chemical stability, as evidenced by its good performance in sandpaper abrasion, tape peeling and electrochemical corrosion tests. Moreover, owing to the efficient photothermal conversion of F-SiO 2 @Tp/Fe nanoparticles , surface temperature of the coating can quickly reach 81 ℃ under 1 kW/m 2 simulated sunlight irradiation (1 Sun). The prepared coating exhibits over three times delayed icing time under 1 sun irradiation at − 25 °C in comparison to the absence of light. And the coating also exhibits stable de-icing and defrosting cycle performance. These findings demonstrate effective synergistic effect of anti-icing and de-icing in the F-SiO 2 @Tp/Fe photothermal superhydrophobic coating, showcasing its promising application potential in practical engineering.

Synthesis of highly-crystallized ZSM-48 zeolite with low SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 ratio was successfully performed via seed-assisted route. The influence of various factors on the seed-assisted synthesis was investigated systematically, including the seeds dosages, different seeds species, adding order of seeds, hydrothermal temperature and time, silica and aluminum sources, and gel compositions. The crystallinity, morphology, textural and acidic properties of ZSM-48 were characterized by various techniques, such as XRD , SEM, FTIR, Py-IR, N 2 physisorption , 29 Si and 27 Al MAS NMR. Aluminum sources posed a critical influence on the crystallinity with NaAlO 2 more beneficial to obtain well-crystallized ZSM-48, whereas the crystallinity seemed slightly susceptible to silica sources. SEM results revealed that the crystal size was significantly reduced from ca. 20 μm to around 2 μm after introduced the seeds. Kinetic analysis suggested that the added seeds can significantly reduce the apparent activation energy of nucleation and crystallization, encourage the formation of crystal nuclei and promote crystallization. The Pt-supported seed-assisted samples exhibited considerably higher density of acid sites than that loaded on seed-free sample. The hydroisomerization of n -hexadecane was investigated over various Pt-supported catalysts, and the Pt-supported seed-assisted samples exhibited the highest i-C 16 yield of ca. 75 wt% at conversion over 87 wt%.

Developing magnetic adsorbent that combines the merits of quick response, excellent enrichment capacity, uniform and stable dispersivity is of paramount importance in pollutants pretreatment. In this work, tunable strawberry-like Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 -NH 2 @Au@ 2-ME magnetic solid phase extraction materials were prepared via assembly method. The obtained nanocomposites were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy , X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and whereafter the preparation method was optimized. Integrating magnetic solid-phase extraction with high-performance liquid chromatography and fluorescence detection , a comprehensive enrichment and detection method toward bisphenol A (BPA) was well established. This method demonstrated high efficiency and rapidity, achieving rapid enrichment of BPA. The as-developed method exhibited good linear correlation within the range of 10.0–500 μg·L −1 , with a recovery of 85–92%. It showed excellent sensitivity and reproducibility in BPA extraction with low limit of detection (LOD, 0.274 μg·L −1 ), limit of quantitation (LOQ, 0.913 μg·L −1 ) and relative standard deviation (RSD, 1.5%, n = 6), respectively. The proposed Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 -NH 2 @Au nanoplatform firmly supports the envision that proper surface functionalization of magnetic substrate could promote the enrichment capacity toward various pollutants in actual application scenarios.

In this work, a group of Bi 3+ /Eu 3+ -doped SiO 2 –Al 2 O 3 -MCO 3 (M = Ca, Sr, Ba) glasses were fabricated through melt-quenching method. Their structure and photoluminescence characters were studied via X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV–Vis transmission spectra (TRS), excitation spectra, emission spectra and decay lifetimes. The XRD results show that no nano-crystal phase forms in glass matrix with different doping concentrations of Bi 3+ and Eu 3+ ions. Through regulating optical alkalinity value, the intensity of Bi 3+ ions increases and the peak position shifts to red wavelength. The Bi 3+ /Eu 3+ co-doped glasses show a blue-white-yellow-red luminescence by changing concentration of Eu 3+ ions. Energy transfer efficiency from Bi 3+ to Eu 3+ can reach as high as 10.54%. At 423 K, the emission intensity of 55SiO 2 –10Al 2 O 3 –35BaO-0.25Bi 2 O 3 (GBE0.5) is 31.1% of that at 308 K. Meanwhile, the activation energy of the glass matrix is 0.251 eV. All results suggest that these Bi 3+ /Eu 3+ co-doped glass samples possess potential application in LED field.

The utilization of CO 2 is nowadays important for alleviating energy and environmental crisis. Herein, amino-functionalization was used to improve the performance of SiO 2 -supported Ni-ZnO nanocatalyst for the hydrogenation of sodium bicarbonate to formic acid . The activity, stability and retainability were all improved upon the introduction of amino group. A formic acid yield of 30.4% was obtained from sodium bicarbonate when passing 5 vol% H 2 /N 2 at 70 °C for 4.5 h, which is considered among the best catalytic performances reported under ambient pressure. The simultaneous improvement of the three aspects through a simple operation is attractive in the field of catalysis.

Mg2SiO4and MgSiO3ceramics with superior microwave dielectric properties are considered to be promising candidates for 5G applications. However, a slight deviation from the stoichiometric Mg/Si ratio will significantly influence their microwave dielectric properties, which will hinder their practical applications. In this work, thexMgO-SiO2(x= 1~2) ceramics were synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. The influence of the Mg/Si ratioxon the crystalline phase, microstructure, and microwave dielectric properties was investigated through X-ray diffraction (XRD), a scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the resonant cavity method. The XRD patterns revealed the coexistence of Mg2SiO4and MgSiO3within thexrange of 1~2, which was further demonstrated by the energy-dispersive X-ray spectra. The SEM images show a typical polycrystalline morphology of ceramics with an inhomogeneous grain size distribution. It is found that the microwave dielectric properties fluctuate at both sides of thexrange while those remain relatively stable with minor changes at the intermediate components, indicating an obvious low composition dependence helpful for practical applications. Further, a demonstrator of a microstrip patch antenna for 5G applications using the 1.5MgO-SiO2ceramic was designed and fabricated, and a return loss of −16.2 dB was demonstrated, which demonstrated the potential applications.Keywords:MgO-SiO2systems;5G application;microwave dielectric ceramics;phase composition

In this study, we investigated the deactivation kinetics and mechanism of N–F–TiO 2 /SiO 2 nanopowder as a model photocatalyst for the purpose of facilitating the photocatalytic degradation of acrylonitrile (AN) in aqueous environment. Prior research has already displayed the proficient degradation of AN through the utilization of N–F–TiO 2 /SiO 2 catalysts, revealing a degradation efficiency of 81.2% within a span of 6 min at an initial AN concentration of 10 mg/L. Multiple variables including the initial AN concentration, illumination intensity, and initial pH value were extensively analyzed during the degradation process. The kinetics of photocatalytic degradation of AN, facilitated by the N–F–TiO 2 /SiO 2 photocatalyst, were modeled by fitting the pseudo first-order reaction kinetics to each individual factor. Furthermore, the adverse effect of catalyst poisoning during the photocatalytic breakdown of AN using the N–F–TiO 2 /SiO 2 photocatalyst was analyzed through a range of different techniques including SEM, XPS, BET, XRD, TG, and NH 3 -TPD. The incorporation of findings from these diverse techniques revealed that, the primary factors contributing to the photocatalyst's poisoning were as follows: (i) During the degradation process, the build-up of intermediate molecules on active sites hindered their functionality, leading to a decrease in the efficiency of the photocatalytic reaction, (ii) Carbonaceous deposits formed when the catalyst's pore structure was obstructed by pollutants or intermediate products that had not undergone timely photocatalytic breakdown and (iii) The persistent erosion of active sites due to hydraulic forces resulted in inadequate performance of the N–F–TiO 2 /SiO 2 photocatalyst in aqueous solutions. A comprehensive analysis of the deactivation kinetics was conducted, deciding in the formulation of a detailed poisoning mechanism for the N–F–TiO 2 /SiO 2 photocatalyst. Additionally, we explored the catalysts regeneration, involving thermal treatment, ultrasonic irradiation, and catalyst reloading. This study not only advances our insight into the waning performance of catalysts in aqueous media but also establishes a conceptual framework for extrapolating analogous deactivation dynamics in other catalysts, grounded in precedent experimental knowledge. This research contributes to the development of a deactivation model for catalysts in the aqueous environment, based on existing experimental research, providing a theoretical framework for understanding the deactivation process of photocatalysts.

We report the design and synthesis of two kinds of amphiphilic Janus SiO 2 nanoparticles , including polyacrylic acid/polystyrene (PAA/PS) Janus SiO 2 and polyacrylic acid/polymethylmethacrylate (PAA/PMMA) Janus SiO 2 . The amphiphilic Janus SiO 2 nanoparticles can effectively stabilize polystyrene butyl acrylate (P(St-BA)) composite microspheres , forming low-cost oil displacing systems to improve the oil recovery of heterogeneous and low-permeability reservoirs. Among them, the PAA/PS Janus SiO 2 stabilized P(St-BA) are demonstrated with good injection, migration, and plugging performance, as well as high temperature and salt resistance. These advantages enable the system an oil recovery increment of 32%. In addition, the microspheres also present good enhanced oil recovery potential in heterogeneous reservoirs, especially for cores with a permeability ratio of 2.0. In principle, the oil displacement of this system is achieved by the synergic effect of amphiphilic Janus SiO 2 nanoparticles and composite microspheres. This work thus provides a promising method for high-performance yet low-cost oil recovery improvement.
