An increasing number of researchers are interested in studying CsPbBr3perovskite solar cells (PSCs) due to their high stability. However, the use of methanol during the spin-coating process is extremely hazardous, both to humans and the environment. CsBr is very soluble in water, but owing to its high specific heat capacity, water causes uneven crystallization and the creation of pores, which negatively impact the performance of CsPbBr3devices. In this paper, water is introduced as the solvent for CsBr in place of methanol to prepare CsPbBr3films and ethanol is used as the surface treatment solvent. The morphology and crystal quality of CsPbBr3films are improved by varying the concentration and spin-coating cycles of the CsBr/H2O solution and adding ethanol post-treatment. The results show that high-quality CsPbBr3films with reduced grain boundaries and high phase-purity were obtained by spin-coating 100 mg/mL CsBr/H2O solution three times and using ethanol as a post-treatment. The CsPbBr3solar cells yielded a maximum efficiency of 7.65% and demonstrate long-term stability over 1100 h.Keywords:perovskite solar cells;CsPbBr3;green solvent;post-treatment

Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals have emerged as a promising candidate for next-generation display applications due to their attractive optical properties and low-cost production. However, the environmental stability of perovskite remains a major challenge, hindering their practical applications and scalability for commercialization. In this study, we present an effective method to enhance the stability of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals by coating them with a combination of Al2O3 and a polymer. The unique double protection structure significantly improves their resistance to moisture, heat, and polar solvents. It is worth noting that compared with the ordinary CsPbBr3 nanocrystals, the modified nanocrystals have better stability and higher luminous intensity. After soaking in water for 360 hours, the modified nanocrystals retained 85% of their initial luminous intensity. Under optimal conditions, the luminous intensity of modified nanocrystals increased by 36%. Furthermore, the thermal stability and organic solvent resistance of the nanocrystals are improved compared with the nanocrystals uncoated with Al2O3. The synthesized white light emitting diode using the modified PNCs achieves a color gamut coverage rate of 129% under standard NTSC, and 95% under standard Rec.2020, indicating its potential for future display applications. This research presents a promising approach for the development of stable perovskite nanocrystals with enhanced performance in various optoelectronic devices.

All-inorganic perovskite quantum dots (CsPbX3QDs) (X = Cl, Br, I) have the advantages of adjustable emission position, narrow emission spectrum, high fluorescence quantum efficiency (PLQY), easy preparation, and elevated defect tolerance; therefore, they are widely used in optoelectronic devices, such as solar cells, light-emitting diodes, and lasers. However, their stability still constrains their development due to their intrinsic crystal structure, ionic exchange of surface ligands, and exceptional sensitivity to environmental factors, such as light, water, oxygen, and heat. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the stability improvement of CsPbX3QDs and apply fabricated high-efficiency, stable perovskite QDs to solar cells to improve the performance of the cells further. In this paper, we focus on CsPbBr3QDs with intrinsic extreme stability and optimize CsPbBr3QDs using strategies, such as Mn+doping, ligand regulation, and polymer encapsulation, which can improve optical properties while ensuring their stability. The test results show that the above five methods can improve the strength and luminescence performance of QDs, with the best stability achieved when PMMA encapsulates QDs with a ratio of PMMA = 2:1 and PLQY increases from 60.2% to 90.1%.Keywords:perovskite quantum dots;CsPbBr3;PMMA;optical properties;stability

As we all know, the various excellent properties of perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have attracted attention in recent years. However, thei work stability is still the bottleneck to be solved urgently in their commercialization process. In this study, we encapsulated CsPbBr3 quantum dots in nano-SiO2 (inorganic) by a high-temperature sintering method and investigated the changes in optical stability before and after encapsulation. The SiO2 shell can effectively suppress anion exchange and photodegradation, which greatly improves the photothermal stability of shell NCs. Preparation of composite films by mixing CsPbBr3–SiO2 (inorganic) and polymer material PMMA (organic) by a solvent solution method can further enhance its stability. Meanwhile, the backlight display device realized the practical application of CsPbBr3–SiO2/CsPbBr1.2I1.8@PMMA with a wide color gamut (112% of the NTSC, 84% of the Rec. 2020). This is a very significant step to open up the awkward situation of the practical application of perovskite NC materials in backlight displays.

Here, Cs 4 PbBr 6 microcrystals (MCs) are synthesized using a two-phase liquid-liquid immiscible method. In order to unravel the bright green photoluminescence (PL) mechanism for in-situ Cs 4 PbBr 6 MCs, the thermal stability of PL spectra for the supernatant and precipitate of reactants is investigated comparatively. Exciton binding energy, exciton-phonon (EP) coefficient and PL lifetime all indicate that the PL of the precipitate has similar temperature dependence as that of the supernatant. It is found that, according to its structural and optical characteristics , the supernatant of the reactants is CsPbBr 3 nanocrystals (NCs). We also find that the bright green PL from the precipitate of the reactants is due to CsPbBr 3 NCs embedded into Cs 4 PbBr 6 MCs. Experimental results further reveal the size of CsPbBr 3 NCs embedded into Cs 4 PbBr 6 MCs is larger than that of CsPbBr 3 NCs in the supernatant. The surface passivation of the composites can thus help to suppress the thermal quenching of PL for CsPbBr 3 NCs, which opens a new avenue for enhancing the thermal stability of PL for perovskite NCs.

As a novel type of promising materials, metal halide perovskites are a rising star in the field of optoelectronics. On this basis, a new frontier of zero-dimensional perovskite-related Cs4PbBr6 with bright green emission and high stability has attracted an enormous amount of attention, even though its photoluminescence still requires to clarification. Herein, the controllable phase transformation between three-dimensional CsPbBr3 and zero-dimensional Cs4PbBr6 is easily achieved in a facile ligand-assisted supersaturated recrystallization synthesis procedure via tuning the amount of surfactants, and their unique optical properties are investigated and compared in detail. Both Cs4PbBr6 and CsPbBr3 produce remarkably intense green luminescence with quantum yields up to 45% and 80%, respectively; however, significantly different emitting behaviors are observed. The fluorescence lifetime of Cs4PbBr6 is much longer than that of CsPbBr3, and photo-blinking is easily detected in the Cs4PbBr6 product, proving that the zero-dimensional Cs4PbBr6 is indeed a highly luminescent perovskite-related material. Additionally, for the first time, tunable emissions over the visible-light spectral region are demonstrated to be achievable via halogen composition modulations in the Cs4PbX6 (X = Cl, Br, I) samples. Our study brings a simple method for the phase control of CsPbBr3/Cs4PbBr6 and demonstrates the intrinsic luminescence nature of the zero-dimensional perovskite-related Cs4PbX6 products.

All-inorganic CsPbX3 (X = I, Br, Cl) perovskite nanocrystals have emerged as a new class of optoelectronic material with tunable emission wavelengths, narrow full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) and high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) (≥50% in general). However, the instability caused by high delocalization of surface ions is still the major issue that obstructs their application. The type of surface ligands plays a key role in the stability of perovskite nanocrystals. In this work, stable cubic Br-rich CsPbBr3 quantum dots (QDs) with uniform particle sizes, high quantum yields and high crystallinity were obtained by a one-step hot-injection synthesis method. Oleylamine (OM) as one of the ligands in the classic synthesis method was replaced with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES). The stability of the CsPbBr3 QDs was significantly improved under different testing conditions.

All-inorganic halide perovskite CsPbBr3 nanocrystals (NCs) have attracted more attention in recent years due to the unique optical feature. To date, most of the research was mainly focused on the photoluminescence (PL) and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of the perovskite NCs. In this work, the strong chemiluminescence (CL) emission of CsPbBr3 NCs was observed for the first time on the hexane/water interface with the assistance of ammonium persulfate-(NH4)2S2O8 as coreactant. Different coreactants were investigated to demonstrate the effect on the CL behavior and it was found that CL intensity achieved the maximum in the presence of (NH4)2S2O8. In this system, electron transfer took place on the surface of the CsPbBr3 NCs, and the excited CsPbBr3 NCs was originated from the direct chemical oxidation of (NH4)2S2O8. The CL spectrum of CsPbBr3 NCs was also collected and was consistent with their PL and ECL spectra, indicating that CsPbBr3 NCs played a role of luminophor during the CL process. The discovery of monochromatic CL of highly crystallized CsPbBr3 NCs not only extends the applications of halide perovskite materials in the analytical field but also provides a new route for the exploration of the physical chemistry properties.

The concentration and temperature dependence of photoluminescence (PL) performance was investigated, which indicated that the main emission in CsPbBr 3 perovskite quantum dots was related to the band-edge mechanism. As the concentration increased from 0.1 to 10.0 mol/L at 293 K, the center of emission band exhibited a regular redshift, as well as the peak intensity increased initially and then declined, which could be attributed to the self-absorption processes. Along with the variation of temperature (273–353 K), peak wavelength, full width of half maximum (FWHM), and peak intensity of PL spectra presented a corresponding linear changes. In addition, the temperature reversibility revealed that CsPbBr 3 QDs were reliable candidates for temperature sensor and optoelectronic devices .

The emergence of CsPbBr3 perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with a band gap of approximately 2.3 eV has generated increasing interest stemming from their potential for high open-circuit voltage (Voc), making them particularly suitable for use in tandem configurations or spectral splitting. However, the Voc of PSCs currently falls short of its theoretical limit, driven by trap-mediated charge recombination and energy band alignment mismatch. In this study, we present a straightforward additive engineering approach involving the introduction of PbI2 species into the PbBr2 precursor film to form the I–Pb–Br interaction, retarding the rapid reaction between PbBr2 and CsBr. This approach effectively suppresses the Pb-rich phase CsPb2Br5, eliminates pinholes on the CsPbBr3 crystal, and obtains high-quality perovskite films, which can significantly enhance the photovoltaic properties. Consequently, we achieved CsPbBr3 films characterized by enlarged crystal size, complete coverage, high purity, and without pinhole presence, leading to a best-performed efficiency of 10.35% and a higher Voc of up to 1.580 V compared to the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 8.35% and a Voc of 1.442 V of the control device, along with exceptional operational stability.

Perovskite-based semiconductor photodetectors have attracted wide attention in the photoelectric fields. By local MoO3 induction, MoO3:CsPbBr3−CsPbBr3 homojunction photodetector was constructed by chemical vapor deposition, exhibiting not only excellent response speed in the scale of microsecond, but also high responsivity of 247.1 A W−1 and detectivity (8.7 × 1012 Jones), roughly an order of magnitude higher than that of CsPbBr3 devices. Ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy measurements show that the Fermi level moves closer to the top of the valence band due to the local MoO3 induction, leading to the conversion of weak p-type CsPbBr3 to a strong p-type semiconductor, which is consistent with the calculation result based on density functional theory (DFT). The band alignment in the homojunction accelerates the photo-generated carrier separation and transfer, thus improving the photoelectric performance of MoO3:CsPbBr3−CsPbBr3 homojunction. Our results provide a new strategy to design photodetectors with excellent performance by constructing homojunctions with perovskite on different substrates.

The achievement of size uniformity and monodispersity in perovskite quantum dots (QDs) requires the implementation of precise temperature control and the establishment of optimal reaction conditions. Nevertheless, the accurate control of a range of reaction variables represents a considerable challenge. This study addresses the aforementioned challenge by employing manganese (Mn) doping to achieve size uniformity in CsPbBr 3 perovskite QDs without the necessity for the precise control of the reaction conditions. By optimizing the Mn:Pb ratio, it is possible to successfully dope CsPbBr 3 QDs with the appropriate concentrations of Mn²⁺ and achieve a uniform size distribution. The spectroscopic measurements on single QDs indicate that the appropriate Mn²⁺ concentrations can result in a narrower spectral linewidth, a longer photoluminescence (PL) lifetime, and a reduced biexciton Auger recombination rate, thus positively affecting the PL properties. This study not only simplifies the size control of perovskite QDs but also demonstrates the potential of Mn-doped CsPbBr 3 QDs for narrow-linewidth light-emitting diode applications.
