This work synthesized a novel adsorbent by doping COF and MIL-125(Ti) in the nanoparticles Fe 3 O 4 . The obtained results showed that the doping of COF and MIL-125(Ti) had a positive effect on enhancing the specific surface area and adsorption capacity. Moreover, the adsorption process has been confirmed to follow the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order kinetic, and the maximum adsorption capacity for tetracycline and tebuconazole was 138.1 mg/g and 87.73 mg/g, respectively. Finally, the adsorbent displayed an excellent adsorption performance in three kinds of actual environmental water samples. The mechanics of the adsorption process mainly involved π-π stacking interaction, hydrogen-bonding interaction, electrostatic interaction, and complexation interaction. In short, the synthesized magnetic adsorbent displayed a good application potential for removing tetracycline and tebuconazole from wastewater.

The main challenge of using non-noble metal copper nanoparticles (Cu NPs) as catalysts is to find or prepare suitable support platforms to anchor Cu NPs, thereby avoiding the aggregation tendency owing to their high surface energy. In this study, a novel pyridine N-containing covalent organic framework (COF) was designed and used as a template for the confined growth of Cu NPs. The prepared imine-connected TAPB-PCBA had abundant one-dimensional ordered channels, moderate specific surface area and good stability. The skeleton structure of TAPB-PCBA contained a large number of evenly distributed pyridine N, which can act as the nucleation site for Cu NPs. The well-defined pore structure confines the growth of Cu NPs and makes them controllable in size. The pores in TAPB-PCBA are completely independent and isolated from each other, minimizing the accumulation of Cu NPs. With the help of these factors, ultrafine Cu/Cu 2 O composite NPs (2.5 nm) with narrow size distribution anchored inside the cavity of the TAPB-PCBA were successfully prepared. The as-prepared Cu-containing COF, Cu@TAPB-PCBA, showed excellent catalytic capacity for dye degradation and nitrophenol reduction under mild conditions and low catalyst loads, respectively. In addition, Cu@TAPB-PCBA also has a good recyclability, multiple use without significant loss of catalytic activity. We expect this COF-supported growth-confined preparation of metal NPs to further facilitate the design and preparation of non-noble metal NPs@ COF composites, replacing noble metals in certain catalytic applications.

Dibenzylamine motifs are an important class of crucial organic compounds and are widely used in fine chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The development of the efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly synthesis of amines using transition metal-based heterogeneous catalysts remains both desirable and challenging. Herein, we prepared the covalent organic framework (COF)-supported heterogeneous reduced COF-supported Pd-based catalyst and used it for the one-pot reductive amination of aldehydes. There are both Pd metallic state and oxidated Pdσ+in the catalysts. Furthermore, in the presence of the reduced COF-supported Pd-based catalyst, many aromatic, aliphatic, and heterocyclic aldehydes with various functional groups substituted were converted to their corresponding amines products in good to excellent selectivity (up to 91%) under mild reaction conditions (70 °C, 2 h, NH3, 20 bar H2). This work expands the covalent organic frameworks for the material family and its support catalyst, opening up new catalytic applications in the economical, practical, and effective synthesis of secondary amines. Keywords:COF;reduced COF-supported Pd-based catalyst;reductive amination;secondary amines

Magnetic covalent organic framework modified by Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles (Fe 3 O 4 @COF) were facile synthesized and used as adsorbent for the adsorption of bisphenols from aqueous solutions. The Fe 3 O 4 @COF is synthesized by catalyst-free Schiff base reaction of melamine and terephthalaldehyde, and synthesis strategy is flexible and controllable. The as prepared Fe 3 O 4 @COF was characterized by TEM , PXRD , TGA and BET analysis. The Fe 3 O 4 @COF possessed large specific surface area (335.2 m 2 /g), high chemical and thermal stability, and high saturation magnetization (49.6 emu/g), which in favor of rapid magnetic separation and efficient adsorption in the adsorption process. The effects of temperature, adsorbent dosage, pH and salt concentration on the adsorption of bisphenols (BPA and BPAF) were studied. The as-prepared adsorbent showed an excellent adsorption ability for BPA and BPAF , and the max adsorption capacity of BPA and BPAF could reach 140 and 290.4 mg/g. The adsorption kinetic fitted the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the adsorption isotherm followed the Freundlich isotherm equation. Moreover, the Fe 3 O 4 @COF presented favorable re-use performance, which kept over 81.4% removal efficiency of bisphenols after five consecutive recycles. The high adsorption performance and reusability make the Fe 3 O 4 @COF a promising adsorbent for the removal of bisphenols.

Uranium is an essential nuclear material in civilian and military areas; however, its extensive application raises concerns about the potential safety issues in the fields of environmental protection and nuclear industry. In this study, we developed an Ag/Ag 2 O–COF (covalent-organic framework) composite SERS substrate to detect uranyl ions (UO 2 2+ ) in environmental aqueous solutions. Herein, the strong SERS effect of uranyl adsorbed in Ag/Ag 2 O composite and the high adsorption efficiency of COF TpPa-1 were combined to realize the trace detection of uranyl ions. This method displayed a linear range of 10 −8 mol L −1 to 10 −6 mol L −1 with the detection limit of 8.9 × 10 −10 mol L −1 for uranyl ions. Furthermore, common metal cations and oxo-ions hardly affected the SERS detection of uranyl, which is helpful for the trace analysis of uranyl in natural water samples. Although the proposed strategy is deployed for uranyl detection, the reusable and high-efficiency system may be expanded to trace detection of other substance with Raman activity.

Covalent organic framework (COF) membranes, with their programmable pore structures and tunable chemical environments, hold great promise for water purification and pollutant separation. However, simultaneously achieving high permeability and selectivity remains a key challenge. Inspired by the biomineralization mechanism of diatom cell walls, we constructed a bioinspired hierarchical nanofiltration membrane by integrating electrospun cellulose nanofibers with in situ grown COF layers (ECNF/COF membrane). The membrane features multiscale transport channels comprising neck-bridged microsphere junctions, intraparticle tortuous pathways, and intrinsic COF nanopores, enabling efficient and selective molecular transport. Thiol–ene click functionalization with sulfonic acid groups produced the ECNF/SCOF membrane and simultaneously regulated wettability (water contact angle from 150.4° to 2.7°), surface charge (zeta potential from −1.5 to −21.8 mV), and pore size (from 2.8 to 1.4 nm). The ECNF/COF and ECNF/SCOF membranes exhibited excellent separation efficiencies (> 99%) for W/O and O/W emulsions, respectively. In mixed dye/salt systems, the ECNF/SCOF membrane achieved over 99% dye rejection while maintaining high salt permeability (salt rejection below 10%). Molecular dynamics simulations confirmed a synergistic “size-sieving plus electrostatic-barrier” mechanism, clarifying the interplay between structure and surface chemistry. This work proposes a programmable, multiscale structure–interface co-regulation strategy that offers new insights into high-performance purification in complex liquid pollution systems. Graphical

In this work, a new type of FE-1 COF material is prepared by a reversible imine condensation reaction with diaminoferrocene and diaminodiformaldehyde as materials. The material is connected by imine bonds to form a COF skeleton, and the presence of plenty of nitrogen-containing groups gives the material good hydrophilicity; the presence of metal Fe ions provides the material application potential in the enrichment of phosphopeptides. According to the different binding abilities of N-glycopeptide and phosphopeptide on FE-1 COF, it can simultaneously enrich N-glycopeptide and phosphopeptide through different elution conditions to realize its controllable and selective enrichment. Using the above characteristics, 18 phosphopeptides were detected from α-casein hydrolysate, 8 phosphopeptides were detected from β-casein hydrolysate and 21 glycopeptides were detected from IgG hydrolysate. Finally, the gradual elution strategy was used; 16 phosphopeptides and 19 glycopeptides were detected from the α-casein hydrolysate and IgG hydrolysate. The corresponding glycopeptides and phosphopeptides were identified from the human serum. It proves that the FE-1 COF material has a good enrichment effect on phosphopeptides and glycopeptides.

Polyamide (PA) membranes prepared by interfacial polymerization (IP) provide an effective solution for efficient desalination. The IP reaction, as a diffusion-controlled polymerization reaction, regulates the storage and diffusion of monomers in the IP process to achieve effective regulation of the PA membrane structure. Higher initial monomer concentration and slower monomer release rate can effectively reduce the membrane thickness and enhance the permeance of the membrane. Herein, ionic covalent organic framework (iCOF) materials with well-developed and ordered pore channels bearing high-density –SO 3 H groups are used to construct a porous and charged interlayer to regulate the release process of monomers during the IP process. The well-ordered pore structure of iCOF provides sufficient storage space for amine monomers and uniform monomer distribution, accelerating the closure of the incipient film. Moreover, the electrostatic interactions between the high density of negatively charged anionic groups on iCOF and the positively charged amine monomer can reduce the diffusion coefficient of the amine monomer by a factor of two. The above two effects resulted in a nearly 10-fold reduction in the thickness of the PA separation layer and an increase in water permeance up to 24.8 L m −2 h −1 bar −1 , nearly three times improvement compared to unmodified PA membrane.

Nanofibers have been widely used in the construction of proton exchange membranes(PEM), which can be used to modify Nafion membranes and enhance their mechanical properties. With the addition of nanofibers, some of the sulfonic acid active sites in the perfluorosulfonic acid matrix are occupied, and the conductivity decreases. A covalent organic framework (COF) can be used to compensate for this. In this paper, hybrid COFs modified with sulfonic and pyridine groups were selected and synthesized in situ on polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers, and the fibers were placed in a perfluorosulfonic acid matrix to form a sandwich shaped composite membrane . The hybrid COF generates a small fiber-like structure to connect the PAN fibers, which improves the connectivity between three-dimensional nanofibers. This structure also plays a role in enhancing longitudinal proton transport ability of the composite membrane, which provides a new idea in the study of PEM.

Hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ), a type of reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced by cells, plays a significant role in various physiological processes. Its abnormal concentrations in human body are closely associated with cellular damage as well as a variety of major diseases. Consequently, sensitive and accurate detection of cellular H 2 O 2 concentration is of great significance in evaluating the degree of intracellular oxidative stress in human cells. In this study, a novel heterogeneous nanomaterial, rGO@PDA@MXene-Au@COF, was designed for electrochemical-colorimetric dual-mode detection of intracellular H 2 O 2 , which enhances both peroxidase and electrochemical activities, achieving lower detection limits and broader linear ranges. ESR spectroscopy, EIS resistance analysis and computational simulation were employed to verify the mechanism of the activity enhancement, and the detection conditions were optimized. The methods were subsequently applied to the determination of H 2 O 2 in cells, yielding results of 1.69 × 10 −14 M H 2 O 2 /cell and 1.59 × 10 −14 M H 2 O 2 /cell for electrochemical and colorimetric detection of MCF-7 cells, and 1.67 × 10 −14 M H 2 O 2 /cell and 1.58 × 10 −14 M H 2 O 2 /cell of Hela cells, respectively. These results demonstrated high sensitivity and anti-interference capabilities, enabling quantitative detection of H 2 O 2 in complex cellular environments. Furthermore, the similarity in results between the two methods confirms their mutual accuracy and reliability. This work provided a novel approach for designing multifunctional nanomaterials and detecting H 2 O 2 in cells.

Caffeic acid is a key indicator of wine quality, but its sensitive and accurate detection remains challenging due to the lack of high-performance sensing materials. Metal/N-doped porous carbon (M/NPC) electrocatalysts with abundant catalytic sites are promising to address this issue. Herein, a FeCo nanoalloy encapsulated in NPC (FeCo@NPC) was designed and synthesized via a “covalent organic framework (COF) adsorption–pyrolysis” strategy. The COF template enabled homogeneous dispersion and stabilization of FeCo. The resulting FeCo@NPC exhibited hierarchical porosity, abundant metal–N x sites, and strong bimetallic synergetic effects, leading to exceptional electrocatalytic activity towards caffeic acid oxidation. The constructed sensor achieved high sensitivity (5.195 and 0.895 μA μM −1 ) and selectivity. It was successfully applied for caffeic acid detection in commercial tablets and wines, and further tracked changes in caffeic acid concentration in red wine over post-opening time. This work provides a general design strategy for designing high-performance electrocatalysts for food quality control.

This study introduces a novel approach by designing a flexible three-dimensional Covalent Organic Framework (COFs), specifically NH 2 -POSS-COF, which serves as a uniform cross-linking site within the EP system. This framework provides substantial internal free volume and mitigates stress concentrations by enabling effective energy dissipation during mechanical loading. The research demonstrates that the integration of NH 2 -POSS-COF significantly enhances the fracture toughness and tensile strength of EP at both RT and cryogenic. These findings open new avenues for optimizing EP performance in low-temperature applications, contributing to the development of high-performance composite materials for aerospace missions.
