Impurity doping is considered as a promising route to endow many functional materials with eminent properties, which may extend their applications in many research fields. As for the optical materials, great endeavors have been devoted to the fluorides over the past years, lanthanide orthovanadates receive less attention and focus. Herein, t-LaVO 4 :Ln 3+ (Ln = Eu, Dy, Sm, Tb) nanorods have been modified by the ZrOCl 2 addition, which are prepared through a hydrothermal synthesis technology. XRD, ICP, TEM, FT-IR and luminescence spectroscopy are employed to characterize the product. The morphology and luminescence performance of t-LaVO 4 :Ln 3+ nanorods could be modulated by deliberately control the ZrOCl 2 content. The average length and width of the nanorods decreases along with the increase of the ZrOCl 2 content. With regulating the content to 4 mol%, luminescence intensity are enhanced for several times and the decay lifetimes are prolonged to a certain extent. The growth mechanism and luminescence enhancement are discussed in detail. This report facilitates a novel approach for luminescence enhancement and widens the horizon for growth mechanism of LaVO 4 -based nanocrystals induced by impurity doping.

The photo-thermo synergy catalytic cyclohexane oxidation has been identified as an efficient and environmentally friendly approach for the preparation of cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol (KA oil). However, this strategy encountered several challenges that impeded its implementation for the one-step production of adipic acid (AA), highlighting the need for further advancements. Herein, a robust strategy for tailoring multi-channel charge transfer pathways in LaVO 4 /WO 3 @H x V 2 O 5 nanospherical composites was developed by constructing double Z-scheme heterojunctions. The LaVO 4 /WO 3 @H x V 2 O 5 exhibited exceptional photothermal catalytic performance for the cyclohexane oxidation, achieving the cyclohexane conversion of 11.01 % with the total selectivity of 96.38 % (solid product AA of 58.51 % and liquid product KA oil of 37.87 %). The exceptional performance of LaVO 4 /WO 3 @H x V 2 O 5 can be ascribed to the double Z-scheme heterojunctions with multi-channel charge transfer and high redox potentials, which facilitates the efficient separation and transfer of photo-generated electron-hole pairs. This deliberate design of double Z-scheme heterojunctions provides valuable insights into the meticulous construction of efficient pathways with multi-channel charge transfer for the field of photothermal catalysis applications.
