The electrochemical synthesis of hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) based on 2-electron oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), is a particularly promising alternative route for in-situ application. Herein, we prepared the oxidized graphene aerogel supported cubic manganese carbonate composites (GO x /MnCO 3 ) with different GO and MnCO 3 ratio through a simple co-precipitation/in-situ coating method. The GO x /MnCO 3 composites, with uniformly wrapping of GO on the surface of MnCO 3 cubic, display high conductivity and abundant catalytic sites for 2-electron ORR. The G 0.2 M shows the best ORR catalytic performance, onset potential of 0.635 V RHE , high H 2 O 2 production selectivity and high stability in 3.5% NaCl electrolyte. Based on this, G 0.2 M as oxygen reduction electrocatalyst , has good antibacterial effect at 0.55 V RHE on the stainless-steel. The antibacterial mechanism is mainly due to the electrocatalytic oxygen reaction of H 2 O 2 and the side reaction of •OH and O 2 •- . This provides an impressive, effective and environmentally friendly electrochemical approach for antibacterial and antifouling applications.

Lignite-derived sodium humate was converted into N/O co-doped hierarchical porous carbon. • MnCO 3 nanocrystals were grown in situ on NHAC via a one-step hydrothermal route. • Surface carboxylate groups promoted Mn 2+ anchoring, localized nucleation, and MnCO 3 dispersion. • The optimized NHAC/Mn-0.01 electrode delivered 458.3 F/g at 0.5 A/g. • The symmetric supercapacitor achieved 14.21 Wh/kg and retained 69.57% after 20000 cycles. Transition metal carbonates are promising pseudocapacitive materials, but MnCO 3 suffers from low conductivity and severe agglomeration. Herein, sodium humate from lignite is used to construct nitrogen/oxygen co-doped hierarchical porous carbon (NHAC) via urea-assisted carbonization and low-dosage KOH activation. NHAC features a high specific surface area (2323 m 2 /g), hierarchical micro/mesopores, and abundant oxygen groups. MnCO 3 nanocrystals are then grown in situ on NHAC through a one-step hydrothermal process. The NHAC matrix acts as both a conductive scaffold and an interfacial regulator: its porous framework facilitates ion/electron transport, and surface carboxylate groups anchor Mn 2+ ions, promoting uniform nucleation and preventing aggregation. The resulting NHAC/Mn-0.01 electrode delivers a high specific capacitance of 458.3 F/g at 0.5 A/g in 6 M KOH, with an 88% capacitive contribution at 30 mV/s. The assembled symmetric supercapacitor achieves an energy density of 14.21 Wh/kg at 175 W/kg and retains 69.57% of its initial capacitance after 20000 cycles. This work offers an effective interfacial engineering strategy to unlock the pseudocapacitive potential of MnCO 3 and provides a sustainable route for high-value utilization of lignite-derived carbon. In this study, manganese from the cathodes for waste batteries (WBCs) was recovered by hydrometallurgical method as a raw material for the peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activator MnCO 3 , which was successfully synthesized by a simple and environmentally friendly process. MnCO 3 had a good degradation properties for oxytetracycline hydrochloride (OTC-HCl). Under the best conditions through the BoxBehnken Design (BBD), the MnCO 3 /PMS system effectively decomposed 91.3 % of OTC-HCl (initial concentration of 60 mg/L), and the Total Organic Carbon (TOC) removal rate was 63.6 % within just 10 min. Moreover, the system exhibits effectiveness over a wide pH range, with its degradation rate remaining largely unaffected by the presence of inorganic anions. Reactive species, including sulfate radicals (SO 4 ·− ), hydroxyl radicals (・OH), superoxide radicals (O 2 ·− ), and singlet oxygen ( 1 O 2 ), are generated by the degradation system. A series of experiments and characterizations demonstrated that 1 O 2 plays a significant role in the degradation system. This study paves the way for the recycling of spent zinc‐manganese batteries and establishes an efficient multi-mechanism degradation system for treating recalcitrant organic wastewater.

Developing new electrode materials with a high specific capacity for excellent lithium-ion storage properties is very desirable. The MnCO 3 /Mn 3 O 4 nanoparticles with uniform size (about 50 nm) and shape which are wrapped with graphene have been successfully synthesized via the one-step method for anode material of lithium-ion batteries. The as-prepared graphene-wrapped MnCO 3 /Mn 3 O 4 nanocomposite exhibits remarkable electrochemical performance, including high reversible specific capacity, outstanding cycling stability, and excellent rate capability in comparison with the bare MnCO 3 and MnCO 3 /Mn 3 O 4 nanocomposite. This is because the synergistic effect of MnCO 3 and Mn 3 O 4 nanoparticles and graphene nanosheets act as both electron conductors and volume buffer layers. From the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis, we confirmed that the morphology and structure of the composite are preserved after 200 cycles. This further confirms that graphene-wrapped MnCO 3 /Mn 3 O 4 nanocomposite acts as a stable template for reversible lithium-ion intercalation/deintercalation.

A facile and environmentally friendly methodology was established to integrate MXene (TiNbC), manganese carbonate (MnCO 3 ), and a covalent organic framework (COF) into a sodium alginate (SA) matrix through hydrothermal and crosslinking process, resulting in the successful fabrication of a novel TiNbC/MnCO 3 @COF-SA composite. Moreover, the (TiNbC/MnCO 3 @COF-SA) hydrogel was thoroughly characterized using a range of analytical techniques, such as FTIR, XPS, SEM, TEM, EDX, XRD, TGA, AFM, and zeta potential measurements. Photocatalytic degradation experiments were carried out to evaluate its performance in removing disinfection by-products (DBPs) from water, revealing efficient pollutant elimination mechanisms. Varied experimental parameters, including pH, initial concentration, reaction time, and temperature, were systematically explored to describe their influence on photocatalytic degradation capacities. Notably, the degradation efficiency of materials toward three DBP (2,4,6-triiodophenol (TIP), 2,4,6-Trichlorophenol (TCP) and 2,6-dichloro-4-nitrophenol (DCNP) were evaluated. Additionally, photocatalytic degradation was evaluated under different pH conditions (pH 4.0, 7.0, and 10.0). Under neutral conditions (pH 7.0) with an initial DBP concentration of 100 μg/L, the degradation efficiencies for TIP, TCP, and DCNP reached 77.0%, 81.3%, and 84.8%, respectively, within 60 min of UV irradiation. Moreover, compared to acidic or neutral environments, alkaline environments were identified as favorable to enhanced DBP degradation. The degradation rate within temperature was 86.0%, 93.0%, and 96.0%, respectively. In short, the TiNbC/MnCO 3 @COF-SA composite shows strong potential for efficient wastewater treatment and clean water recovery.

Herein, we report the rational design of Cu-MnCO 3 -Mn 3 O 4 /C by partially reduced CuMn/C-300 (300 represents the calcination temperature) for highly efficient mineralization of TC. Mechanism studies indicate that Cu-MnCO 3 -Mn 3 O 4 /C with abundant oxygen vacancies could be enhance the adsorption capacity of TC and O 3 as comparing with CuMn/C-300. Moreover, the degradation and mineralization rates of TC can be enhanced over Cu-MnCO 3 -Mn 3 O 4 /C due to the existence of synergetic catalysis between Cu, MnCO 3 , and Mn 3 O 4 . Combining catalytic ozonation with Fenton-like reaction (by-reaction) could enhance O 3 decomposition and •OH generation, facilitating the degradation and mineralization rates of TC. As expected, Cu-MnCO 3 -Mn 3 O 4 /C exhibits an excellent catalytic ozonation performance for degradation of TC with a k = 0.265 min −1 and almost 100 % of mineralization rate, outperforming to the most of non-noble-based catalysts ever reported. This work presents a combined reaction mechanism for catalytic ozonation to eliminate pollutant through a catalyst with heterogeneous interface in water purification.
