The long-term corrosion resistance of metal coatings remains a persistent challenge. Single nanofillers often fail to address this issue comprehensively. Herein, siloxene (S) was employed as a substrate to construct a composite structure integrating polyaniline (PANI) and Ce-MOF. The PANI structure imparts passive corrosion protection to the coating, while the pH-responsive Ce-MOF structure endows the coating with efficient self-healing capability. In addition, the fibrous PANI and the unique flexible structure of Ce-MOF endow the two-dimensional S sheets with good load-bearing capacity, thus enabling the composite coating to exhibit enhanced mechanical properties, which include adhesion strength, tensile performance, and wear resistance. It is found through research that the |Z|0.01 Hz of the composite coating increases by 1.5 orders of magnitude in the initial stage of immersion, and the tip current value decreases by more than 80% after being immersed for 20 days. A more than 80% decrease in wear rate is observed in the composite coating, and the adhesion, tensile strength, and tensile modulus of the coating are significantly improved. This study offers significant perspectives on the development of versatile nanofillers for epoxy coatings and establishes an application strategy for S materials in metal coating systems.
Exploring highly efficient photocatalysts is critical for integration of photocatalysis and peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation. Herein, N-CuMe 2 Pc/Siloxene nanocomposites were fabricated by immobilizing the N-CuMe 2 Pc nanorods onto the surface of ultrathin Siloxene nanosheets to activate PMS for efficient photodegradation of (Rhodamine B) RhB. The prepared nanocomposites possess excellent photoabsorption capability and separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers. As expected, the nanocomposites exhibit superior catalytic activity and stability in PMS activation toward RhB photodegradation with highest removal efficiency of 95.3%, which is higher than that of Siloxene and N-CuMe 2 Pc. The active species in photocatalytic process and degradation pathways were determined through radical quenching studies. The reaction mechanism was systematically illustrated based on the intermediates detection and band structures. This study provides an experimental basis for further understanding of the photocatalytic oxidation behavior of metal phthalocyanine modified two-dimensional semiconductor materials, and is helpful to promote the research and application of photocatalytic degradation of refractory organic pollutants.
2D siloxene has got a lot of attention owing to unique structure, minimized volume change and high theoretical capacity. However, low electronic conductivity and exfoliation from Cu current collector leads to poor rate performance and irreversible cycling performance. To solve the problems, a robust room temperature liquid metal (LM) matrix confined siloxene structure is designed by forming metal bond via heat treatment at 80 °C. Through heating, LM permeates into the siloxene electrode to improve the conductivity and reacts with Cu current collector to create CuGa 2 alloy. With the synergistic advantages of high electronical conductivity, environmentally friendly, and self-healing character of liquid metal, the modified siloxene anode exhibits revisable cyclic stability about 847 mAh g −1 at 2000 mA g −1 for 300 cycles and 618 mAh g −1 at 8000 mA g −1 for 700 cycles.
