Perovskites have great potential for optoelectronic applications due to their high photoluminescence quantum yield, large absorption coefficient, great defect tolerance, and adjustable band gap. Perovskite heterostructures may further enhance the performance of optoelectronic devices. So far, however, most of perovskite heterostructures are fabricated by mechanical stacking or spin coating, which could introduce a large number of defects or impurities at the heterointerface owing to the random stacking process. Herein, we report the epitaxial growth of CsPbBr3 pyramids/CdS nanobelt heterostructures via a 2-step vapor deposition route. The CsPbBr3 triangular pyramids are well aligned on the surface of CdS nanobelts with the epitaxial relationships of (0–22)CsPbBr3||(1–20)CdS and (−211)CsPbBr3||(002)CdS. Time-resolved photoluminescence results reveal that effective charge transfer occurred at the heterointerface, which can be attributed to the type-II band arrangement. Theoretical simulations reveal that the unique CsPbBr3 pyramids/CdS nanobelt structure facilitates diminishing the reflection losses and enhancing the light absorption. The photodetector based on these CsPbBr3 pyramids/CdS nanobelt heterostructures exhibited an ultrahigh photoswitching ratio of 2.14 × 105, a high responsivity up to 4.07 × 104 A/W, a high detectivity reaching 1.36 × 1013 Jones, fast photoresponses (τrise = 472 μs and τdecay = 894 μs), low dark current, and suppressed hysteresis.

Blue emitting perovskite ink obtained from cesium lead halide quantum dots bearing chlorine (CsPbCl x Br 3− x , 0 < x ≤ 3) suffers from the low photoluminescence quantum yield and poor stability. Cesium lead bromine (CsPbBr 3 ) quantum dots free of chlorine have more stable crystal structure and fewer crystal defects. Precise control of crystal sizes and surface passivation components of CsPbBr 3 quantum dots is crucial for the best use of quantum confinement effect and blueshift of emission wavelength to blue region. Here, by polymerizing acrylamide under UV-light irradiation to form polymer gel networks in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) with CsPbBr 3 precursors and passivating agents trapped, we successfully prepared novel sustained release tablets with different shapes and sizes. Thanks to the limitation of the polymer networks on solvent releasing, the resulting CsPbBr 3 quantum dots have the average size of 1.1 ± 0.2 nm. On the basis of the excellent quantum confinement effect and optimized surface passivation, the obtained PQD ink can emit high quality blue light for more than 6 weeks. This work elucidates a new and convenient technique to prepare blue emission perovskite quantum dots ink with high stability and photoluminescence quantum yield and provides a great potential technology for the preparation of perovskite optoelectronic devices.

Lead halide perovskites have emerged as promising candidates for next-generation optoelectronic devices owing to their tunable bandgaps, high photoluminescence efficiency, and excellent carrier transport characteristics. Low-dimensional nanostructures, particularly nanowires (NWs) and nanoplatelets (NPLs), further enhance these properties through anisotropic charge transport and strong quantum confinement; however, direct morphology-dependent comparisons remain limited. Herein, CsPbBr3 NWs and NPLs were synthesized via a ligand-regulated hot-injection strategy that enables precise dimensional control by tuning ligand ratios. The NWs exhibit uniform one-dimensional (1D) geometry (∼9 nm diameter), whereas NPLs form ∼5 nm-thick two-dimensional (2D) structures. Structural and optical analyses reveal morphology-dependent spectral responses in which NWs show exciton absorption and emission at 505/520 nm, while NPLs display pronounced blue-shifts (465/480 nm) due to enhanced vertical confinement. Time-resolved photoluminescence reveals significantly longer exciton lifetimes in NWs (88.06 ns) than NPLs (32.20 ns), indicating reduced defect density and superior radiative recombination characteristics. Femtosecond transient absorption confirms slower carrier trapping and prolonged hot-carrier relaxation in NWs. This comparative study establishes a direct structure–property relationship between 1D and 2D CsPbBr3 nanostructures, offering insight into morphology-guided design for lasers, single-photon emitters, and blue optoelectronic devices.

Boosting the efficiency and lifetime of all inorganic metal halide perovskite nanocrystals (PeNCs) based light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) will promote the application of PeNCs in displays and lighting. However, achieving high-stability CsPbBr 3 NCs is still a critical challenge. In this study, a physical adsorption of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) on the surface of CsPbBr 3 NCs is proven effective to enhance CsPbBr 3 NCs stability by reducing the surface energy and preventing the attack of water and oxygen molecules. It also alleviates the energy transfer between neighboring NCs and greatly reduces the thin film roughness by suppressing the agglomeration of the CsPbBr 3 NCs within films. Specifically, compared with CsPbBr 3 NCs without PMMA adsorption, the photostability under the illumination of continuous ultraviolet light (96 hours) and storage stability under 0 °C (60 days) of the proposed CsPbBr 3 NCs with PMMA adsorption are therefore improved by >10 times and four times, respectively. Moreover, since the energy transfer between CsPbBr 3 NCs and the agglomeration of CsPbBr 3 NCs within films have been suppressed dramatically by the physical absorbed PMMA, the maximum luminance of as-fabricated LED devices is promoted from 5000 to 13,800 cd m −2 with alleviated roll-off effect. The operational lifetime of the LED devices is also improved by 5.7 times owing to PMMA preventing the attack of water and oxygen molecules.

This paper presents a method for enhancing the environmental stability of all-inorganic perovskite quantum dots (CsPbBr₃) through ligand engineering. To address the challenge of insufficient stability when directly exposed to the natural environment, the study employed trioctylphosphine, lead stearate, and chlorobenzene as solvents. The results indicate that the modified quantum dots exhibited self-healing behavior after 30 days of exposure to corrosive solutions used in LED fabrication processes, with a significant recovery in photoluminescence intensity. Compared to CsPbBr₃, the intensity increased by 29-fold, 104-fold, 250-fold, and 65-fold after exposure to water, ZnO, TiO₂, and Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrene sulfonate) solutions, respectively. Additionally, their luminescence intensity at 100 °C increased by 116%. Stability tests under various natural atmospheric conditions confirmed that the time to complete failure reached 1900 h, 5950 h, approximately 3 years, and approximately 24.5 years in humid-hot, forest, laboratory, and low-temperature environments, respectively. These self-healing quantum dots provide valuable insights for quantum dot stability research and the outdoor application of devices.

The all-inorganic perovskite CsPbBr3 exhibits outstanding optoelectronic properties, including broad absorption, narrow-band emission, and high photoluminescence quantum yield; however, its pronounced sensitivity to moisture severely limits practical applications. Although encapsulation of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals within glass matrices can enhance their environmental stability, moisture-induced degradation remains a critical challenge. In this work, CsPbBr3 nanocrystals were embedded in a borosilicate glass matrix, and the processes of water-induced crystallization and hydrolytic decomposition were systematically investigated with detailed mechanistic insights. Furthermore, by exposing the samples to solvents with different polarities, the role of solvent polarity in governing the decomposition behavior of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals within the glass–ceramic system. This study provides a new understanding of the formation, stability, and degradation mechanisms of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals embedded in the borosilicate glass matrix.

Ultrathin pure bromide metal halide perovskite nanoplatelets (MHP NPLs) are expected to achieve high-purity pure blue and even deep blue emission. However, the optical properties of ultrathin NPLs are extremely unstable because they tend to self-assemble and fuse into large particles. Here, we find that the deep blue emitting NPLs can be stabilized by controlling the self-assembly behavior. By partial exchange of the surface ligand of aliphatic acid with aromatic acid, the self-assembly configuration can be effectively controlled, endowing stable face-to-face self-assembled configurations. The resultant NPL superlattices can retain blue emission for over half a month, while the control samples will red-shift within a few hours. The molecular simulation results reveal that the aromatic acid ligand has a strong passivation capacity on the NPL surface and moderate intermolecular van der Waals interactions. Therefore, by tuning the benzoic acid concentration, the intrinsic optical properties of individual NPLs can be stabilized in the form of self-assembly, avoiding crystal regrowth and exciton delocalization. This controllable self-assembly of ultrathin MHP NPLs benefits fundamental research in the field of perovskite nanocrystal superlattices and broadens the possibilities for perovskites for blue emission.

Recently, all-inorganic cesium lead halide (CsPbX 3 (X = Cl, Br, and I) perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have been extensively investigated for photocatalytic carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) reduction reaction (CO 2 RR). However, because the pristine CsPbX 3 NCs suffer from severe radiative recombination, it is imperative to elaborately design heterostructures to separate electron-hole pairs for achieving efficient CO 2 RR. Herein, palladium (Pd) nanoparticles (NPs) are anchored on CsPbBr 3 NCs by a photo-assisted approach for the first time. The as-prepared CsPbBr 3 @Pd NCs not only build Schottky junctions at the CsPbBr 3 /Pd interfaces that promote the carrier separation and suppress the radiative recombination, but also exhibit lower energy barriers for photocatalytic CO 2 RR than pristine CsPbBr 3 NCs according to the density functional theory calculations. The electron consumption rate reaches a striking peak of 46.2 µmol g −1 h −1 by using CsPbBr 3 @Pd NCs as photocatalysts for CO 2 RR, which is 4.8-fold of the counterpart of pristine CsPbBr 3 NCs. This work not only presents a photo-assisted strategy for anchoring Pd NPs on CsPbBr 3 NCs, but also demonstrates the great potential of using CsPbBr 3 @Pd NCs for photocatalytic CO 2 RR.

Green antisolvents and ligands synergistically direct perovskite phase evolution. • Spectroscopic analyses reveal solvent-dependent ligand dissociation mechanisms. • Distinct phases enable antibacterial and dynamic anti-counterfeiting applications. In this work, we propose a ligand–antisolvent synergistic regulation strategy to synthesize Cs–Pb–Br materials with dual antibacterial and encryption functions. An amphiphilic ligand derived from 5-bromovaleric acid (5-BVA) and oleamide (OAm) is employed with two green antisolvents (water and ethanol). The use of water as an antisolvent yields high-purity CsPbBr 3 quantum dots (QDs) with water stability exceeding 50 days. These QDs exhibit potent antibacterial activity through electrostatic interactions with bacterial cell membranes achieving up to 99.8% inhibition at a low concentration of 120 μg/ml. In contrast, ethanol as the antisolvent leads to a mixed CsPbBr 3 /CsPb 2 Br 5 phase. This mixed phase exhibits water-triggered fluorescence activation originating from CsPbBr 3 recrystallization alongside a thermal quenching effect that enables reversible on–off fluorescence switching upon cooling–heating cycles. This water-induced fluorescence activation effect combined with reversible thermal quenching properties enables multi-level encryption. Ultimately this ligand-antisolvent synergistic regulation strategy not only offers theoretical guidance for the rational and tailored design of multifunctional perovskites but also establishes a foundation for their practical applications in complex optoelectronic and biological environments.

All-inorganic semi-transparent perovskite solar cells fabricated via vapor deposition techniques exhibit enormous commercial potential. However, high-temperature solid-state reactions induce abundant defects on CsPbBr 3 surfaces, and electron-beam-deposited NiO X further impairs perovskite surface integrity, rendering the perovskite/NiO X interface highly susceptible to redox reactions and severely limiting photovoltaic performance. Herein, we propose a multifunctional interfacial engineering strategy: spray-coating a potassium bromodifluoroacetate (KBDFA) layer on the perovskite surface to form an interfacial network. This isolates the perovskite/NiO X interface and mitigates perovskite damage during electron beam evaporation. Furthermore, KBDFA's acetate groups coordinate with coordinatively unsaturated Pb 2+ ions, while K + stabilizes Br − ; halogen species also fill Br − vacancies, achieving synergistic defect passivation. Meanwhile, the high electronegativity of fluorine increases the Ni ≥3+ content in NiO X , thereby enhancing the conductivity of the hole transport layer. KBDFA modification also optimizes interfacial energy level alignment, enabling efficient hole extraction. The optimized device achieved a 7.78% power conversion efficiency (PCE) and maintained an average transmittance (AVT)of 52.63%—a state-of-the-art benchmark for vapor-deposited semi-transparent CsPbBr 3 solar cells—with excellent humidity and light stability. The corresponding 10 cm × 10 cm module (with an active area of 64 cm 2 ) delivers a respectable PCE of 3.92%.

High-resolution perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) arrays printed by electrohydrodynamic (EHD) inkjet printing show great application prospects in fields of micro-display. Commonly, EHD inkjet requires a polar system for printing but it easily quenches the PeQDs. Meanwhile, the mismatch of solvent parameters causes uneven surface morphology and printing instability. In this work, a morphology uniformization strategy of a nonpolar binary solvent system of 1,3,5-triethylbenzene and n-tetradecane is proposed to prepare the didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB)/PbBr 2 passivated PeQDs inks. When the solvent volume ratio is 5:5, the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of the ink reaches 94.06%. Benefiting from the match of boiling point, surface tension, and dielectric constant of ink, after the EHD inkjet printing, the line width of continuous smooth line arrays is as narrow as 2.0 µm and the coffee effect of dot arrays is well inhibited. Meanwhile, derived from the strong electrostatic interaction between the π-electron structure of 1,3,5-triethylbenzene and DDA + , the ink exhibits high stability. Moreover, the high-resolution logo and miniature quick responsecode by EHD inkjet printing reach 22 718 dpi, far higher than that of the reported micro-LED. This work paves the way for high-resolution pixel arrays of micro-display.

Although cesium halide lead (CsPbX3, X = Cl, Br, I) perovskite quantum dots (QDs) have excellent photovoltaic properties, their unstable characteristics are major limitations to application. Previous research has demonstrated that the core–shell structure can significantly improve the stability of CsPbX3 QDs and form heterojunctions at interfaces, enabling multifunctionalization of perovskite materials. In this article, we propose a convenient method to construct core–shell-structured perovskite materials, in which CsPbBr3@CsPb2Br5 core–shell micrometer crystals can be prepared by controlling the ratio of Cs+/Pb2+ in the precursor and the reaction time. The materials exhibited enhanced optical properties and stability that provided for further postprocessing. Subsequently, CsPbBr3@CsPb2Br5@TiO2 composites were obtained by coating a layer of dense TiO2 nanoparticles on the surfaces of micrometer crystals through hydrolysis of titanium precursors. According to density functional theory (DFT) calculations and experimental results, the presence of surface TiO2 promoted delocalization of photogenerated electrons and holes, enabling the CsPbBr3@CsPb2Br5@TiO2 composites to exhibit excellent performance in the field of photocatalysis. In addition, due to passivation of surface defects by CsPb2Br5 and TiO2 shells, the luminous intensity of white light-emitting diodes prepared with the materials only decayed by 2%–3% at high temperatures (>100 °C) when working for 24 h.
