Limited treatment response and inadequate monitoring methods stand firmly before successful immunotherapy. Recruiting and activating immune cells in the hypoxic tumor microenvironment is the key to reversing immune suppression and improving immunotherapy efficacy. In this study, biomimetic oxygen-delivering nanoparticles (CmPF) are engineered for homologous targeting and hypoxia alleviation within the tumor environment. CmPF targets the tumor microenvironment and delivers oxygen to reduce hypoxia, thereby promoting immune cell activity at the tumor site. In addition, granzyme B-targeted positron emission tomography (PET) imaging is employed to monitor immune cell activity changes in response to immunotherapy efficacy in vivo. The combination of CmPF with carboplatin and PD-1 inhibitors significantly suppresses tumor growth by 2.4-fold, exhibiting the potential of CmPF to enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy. Immunohistochemistry further confirms increased expression of key immune markers, highlighting the reprogramming of the tumor microenvironment. This study demonstrates that hypoxia alleviation enhances tumor immunotherapy efficacy and introduces a non-invasive PET imaging method for dynamic, real-time assessment of therapeutic response.

Inhalable particulate matter poses significant health risks, and current air filtration materials often struggle with efficiently capturing particles smaller than 300 nm and providing real-time feedback on filtration performance. We present the synthesis and characterization of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) nano-woven luminescent fibers (PNWLFs), created through a positive and negative dual high-voltage electrospinning method. The PNWLFs feature a unique nano-woven structure composed of backbone fibers (200–1000 nm) and nanofibers (20–160 nm), which endow them with remarkable mechanical strength, maintaining a breaking force of 117.5 cN and structural integrity under a 138 mm water column. The fibers exhibit excellent breathability and waterproof performance, with a water vapor transmission rate of 4.69 kg/m 2 /day. More importantly, the PNWLFs demonstrate exceptional air filtration capabilities, achieving filtration efficiencies of 99.77 % for PM 5.0 , 99.76 % for PM 2.5 , 99.72 % for PM 1.0 , 99.53 % for PM 0.5 , and 99.40 % for PM 0.3 , with minimal pressure drop of 106 Pa. Additionally, these fibers possess a unique fluorescence-indicating function: the fluorescence intensity decreases in response to increasing particulate matter concentration and the number of filtration cycles, allowing for intuitive visual monitoring of filter performance and particulate levels. These attributes underscore the significant potential of PNWLFs synthesized by this work for advanced air filtration applications and effective air quality monitoring.

Three-dimensional printed concrete (3DPC) is increasingly recognized in the construction industry for its high design flexibility and the elimination of conventional formwork. However, weak interlayer adhesion remains a significant challenge. The potential of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers for reinforcing 3DPC is being explored, driven by their environmental sustainability and economic advantages. However, there is an inadequate interfacial adhesion between these recycled fibers and the 3DPC matrix. This study investigated the use of dopamine modification to address this issue and enhance the interlayer adhesion of fiber-reinforced 3DPC. Recycled PET fibers were surface-modified using dopamine treatment, forming a polydopamine (PDA) film that improved surface roughness and hydrophilicity. Both unmodified and modified fibers were incorporated into 3DPC at various volume fractions (0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%). The effects on interlayer adhesion strength, compressive strength, and flexural strength were systematically evaluated and compared. The results showed that the inclusion of 0.3 vol% dopamine-modified fibers resulted in a 22.5% increase in interlayer adhesion strength compared to the control group, and a 14.8% improvement over unmodified fibers at the same content. Additionally, the compressive strength and flexural strength of 3DPC with 0.3 vol% MPET fibers increased by 22.5% and 27.6%, respectively, compared to the control group. Microstructural analysis using SEM and XRD revealed that the dopamine modification significantly improved the interfacial adhesion between fibers and the concrete matrix, explaining the superior performance of modified fibers. This study demonstrates that recycled PET fibers modified with dopamine can effectively enhance the interlayer adhesion of 3DPC. The findings affirm that surface modification techniques can significantly elevate the utility of recycled PET fibers in 3DPC, contributing to the sustainable advancement of construction materials.

Recycling waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) to prepare high-value chemicals can achieve resource recycling and reduce environmental pollution, which has important scientific significance. In this work, waterborne polyurethane (WPU) was prepared in one-pot method using non-metallic ionic liquid (IL) 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ( [Emim] [OAc]) as catalyst in the PET degradation. There is no need to separate the products and IL catalyst, avoiding product loss and metal residue. Meanwhile, the flame-retardant choline dihydrogen phosphate (N 1112OH DHP) was added, combining with the [Emim] [OAc], the WPU with good flame retardancy was obtained by using flame retardant with the phosphorus-nitrogen synergistic effect. The testing results indicated that the number average molecular weight (M n ) of WPU was as high as 23703 g/mol under the optimal conditions, the total heat release (THR) of WPU was reduced by 44.86%, the limiting oxygen index (LOI) was increased to 31.5%. Besides, the UL-94 testing of the WPU has reached V-0 level. In the end, the flame retardancy mechanism was studied through analyzing the perspectives of condensed phase and gas phase of of WPU. Thus, the WPU with good flame retardancy can be prepared in one-pot method by glycolysis of PET with ILs, which has certain guiding significance for the recycling and utilization of PET.

An isostatic aroma permeation measurement system was developed using a customized permeation cup and dynamic SPME-GC-FID coupled to a flow-cell unit. The limit of quantitation (LOQ) of the method ranged from 0.012 to 0.054 mg/m 3 with a PDMS-coated SPME Arrow, with typical linearity from 5 to 600 mg/m 3 . The system's repeatability on a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film was between 8.7% and 25.0% (%RSD, n = 4). The results were verified using headspace GC–MS and thermal desorption GC–MS, with relative average deviation (%RAD) ranging from 6.0% to 20.7%. The aroma barrier performance of six film samples, including PET, biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and vacuum metalized polyethylene (PET//VMPE), was compared using this method with a mixture of five model aroma compounds, such as 2-methyl pyrazine, 2-heptanone and benzaldehyde. This method provides a sensitive, automated and low-cost solution for evaluating the aroma barrier performance of polymer films, with potential applications in the packaging industry.

Background:Acute liver injury (ALI) is a prevalent and potentially lethal condition globally, where pharmacotherapy plays a vital role. However, challenges such as rapid drug excretion and insufficient concentration at hepatic lesions often impede the treatment’s effectiveness. Methods:We successfully prepared glycyrrhizinate monoammonium cysteine (GMC)-loaded lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) using high-pressure homogenization. The characterization and safety of the LNPs were measured using electrophoretic light scattering (ELS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), cytotoxicity assays, and hemolysis tests. The distribution of LNPs in mice was explored using fluorescence labeling methods. The encapsulation efficiency of LNP-GMC was detected using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and its slow-release effect on GMC was assessed through dialysis. The therapeutic effects of LNP-GMC and pure GMC on the ALI model were evaluated using fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) PET imaging, blood biochemical indicators, and liver pathology slices. Results:The encapsulation of GMC in LNPs enhances drug stability and prolongs its hepatic retention, significantly improving its bioavailability and sustained release within the liver. This study also explores the expression of fibroblast activation protein (FAP) in ALI, employing68Ga-FAPI PET/CT imaging for effective differentiation and assessment of liver injury. Conclusions:Our results suggest that LNPs offer an enhanced therapeutic approach for ALI treatment, reducing the required drug dosage, and68Ga-FAPI PET/CT imaging provides a novel method for diagnosis and treatment assessment. This study contributes valuable insights into the utilization of LNPs in liver disease treatment, presenting a promising direction for future clinical applications.

Blue fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) were synthesized in this study from poly (butylene adipate co -terephthalate) (PBAT) and poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) waste through a sequential carbonization and hydrothermal treatment. The nanoparticles exhibited a spherical morphology with a narrow size distribution of 1.3–2.5 nm, abundant hydrophilic surface groups, and excellent dispersibility in aqueous solution. The CDs exhibited strong blue fluorescence with a quantum yield (QY) of 7.4% and remarkable stability. The fluorescence was selectively quenched by gefitinib primarily via a Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) mechanism. The developed sensor showed a linear detection range of 0–30 μM, a low detection limit of 0.8433 μM, and outstanding anti-interference capability against common biomolecules and structurally similar drugs. The spiked recovery rates in real samples ranged from 96.7% to 103.0%, with the relative standard deviations (RSDs) less than 3.0%, demonstrating the probe's capability for detecting gefitinib in complex practical matrices. The proposed sensor shows great potential for applications in therapeutic drug monitoring and clinical diagnostics, offering a promising solution for both environmental sustainability and analytical science.

The flexible substrates with high activity are limitedly utilized for the Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) detection of Aflatoxin B 1 (AFB 1 ) due to their complex and uncontrollable synthesis. Here, a multistep temperature synthetic strategy is innovatively proposed to facilely and controllably synthesize Ag nanowires loaded on the flexible polyethylene terephthalate nonwoven fabric surface (i.e., Ag NWs@PET). The above strategy can effectively promote the generation and the anisotropic growth of small-sized Ag seeds and thus ensure the uniformity of obtained Ag NWs, providing a valuable reference for the formation of other metal nanowires. Furthermore, Ag NWs@PET is employed as active substrates for the SERS detection of the AFB 1 in corns. Ag NWs@PET exhibits superior sensitivity, mechanical stability, reproducibility, and long-term stability. Noteworthy, by means of Ag NWs@PET, the quantitative detection of AFB 1 ranged from 10 -8 to 10 -13 M can be rapidly achieved. Clearly, as-obtained flexible Ag NWs@PET as a promising SERS substrate can pave the way for the expended implications of the SERS detection in food safety.

Therapy targeting cancer stem cells (CSCs) has been proposed as a promising strategy to reduce chemoresistance and relapse risks in ovarian cancer (OC) patients. However, the lack of targetable markers impedes research progress. Here, we demonstrate that CXC motif chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) may be a targetable functional marker of ovarian CSCs and propose a new translational model incorporating targeted imaging and CXCR4 blockade in CXCR4 + tumors. Expression profile analysis of chemoresistant CSC-like ovarian cancer cells highlighted that CXCR4 functions as a potential stemness marker. CXCR4 + ovarian cancer cells exhibited high self-renewal capacity in vitro and in vivo, and an association with chemoresistance. CXCR4 inhibitor AMD3100 significantly impaired the self-renewal ability of CSC-like ovarian cancer cells and enhanced their sensitivity to cisplatin. CXCR4-targeted [ 68 Ga]Ga-Pentixafor was highly specific in delineating CXCR4-high cell line-derived xenografts and patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) via positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, with precise tumor-targeting and persistent retention. A combination of AMD3100 and CDDP exerted an excellent antitumor effect in CXCR4-high PDXs, but not in CXCR4-low PDXs. These results suggest that CXCR4 may represent a functional CSC marker associated with chemoresistance. Moreover, [ 68 Ga]Ga-Pentixafor PET imaging can guide decision-making for AMD3100 therapy, paving the way for further clinical translation.

Coating polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fabrics by flame-retardant polyacrylate (PAc) is considered as a convenient and efficient method for improving the flame retardancy of PET fabrics. In this study, melamine (MEL) was reacted with phytic acid (PA), leading to the successful synthesis of a PA-based flame retardant, MP. Subsequently, aluminum diethylphosphinate (ADP) and MP were compounded at a mass ratio of 18:2 and incorporated into the PAc coating to prepare a flame-retardant PAc coating. When this flame-retardant PAc coating was coated to the surface of PET fabric, PET-ADP-MP 18:2 was obtained. The PET-ADP-MP 18:2 fabric exhibited excellent flame-retardant performance, achieved fire rating B 1 in the Vertical flammability test (VFT), with a limiting oxygen index (LOI) of 26.3%. Compared to the untreated PET fabric, the peak heat release rate (PHRR) was reduced by 70.81%. Moreover, the mechanical properties of PET-ADP-MP 18:2 were also improved. The tensile strength in the warp direction increased by 41.7%, while that in the weft direction increased by 57.7%. The flame retardant obtained by the combination of ADP and MP is therefore considered to hold significant potential for application in the field of flame-retardant PET fabrics (FR-PETs).

Growing of ZnO nanoparticles on PET films without crystal seeding has been achieved by employing polydopamine as the anchor. The PDA layer was formed on the surface of PET film by the polymerization of dopamine. The PDA-PET was dipped into zinc precursors for hydrothermal growth of ZnO nanoparticles. Cluster-like ZnO nanoparticles were obtained and the special structure was affected by the growing time and zinc ion concentration. The surface morphology, structure and properties were characterized, and the functions including antimicrobial activity and UV protection of the ZnO-coated PET film were investigated. The developed facile hydrothermal approach without seeding will benefit the development of UV resistant and antimicrobial PET films.

In this work, a simple, low-cost and palladium-free method for the electroless metallization of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers was developed to enable insulate PET fibers with electrical conductivity. The activation solution containing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) dispersed in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is applied to form a polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-rich surface-physical-interpenetrating-network (SPIN) structure on the surface of the PET fibers. The formed AgNPs adsorb to the PVP within SPIN, serving as active sites dispersed on the fiber surface for metal deposition. The obtained AgNP-SPIN surface was examined by morphological and chemical characterizations, confirming the complete modification over the PET fiber surface. Followed by electroless copper plating, a uniform and dense copper layer with a thickness of approximately 0.8 μm was deposited covering the PET fiber surface. The fabricated conductive PET fibers exhibit outstanding flexibility and strong adhesion between the copper and polymer interface. By sewing the developed conductive fiber threads onto the fabric, the flexible circuit on regular cotton cloth was realized.
