Graphical nZVI/MCM-41/rGO is designed for improving the properties of nZVI, and the results show that it has an apparent Fe(0) crystallinity and modest rGO crystallinity, as well as a rough and porous structure. There are many oxygen-containing groups found on the surface of nZVI/MCM-41/rGO, such as −OH, −COOH, and Si−O. The pore diameter is concentrated at 23.82 nm, and the specific surface area is 15.94 cm 2 /g. The best performance is occurred at pH 6, C 0 =80 mg/L with a 2 g/L adsorbent dosage, and after 180 min, a maximum adsorption capacity of 41.82 mg/g is reached at 333 K. The Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm and second order kinetic models fit the Ni(II) adsorption process well. It is determined through analysis of the thermodynamic parameters that the adsorption progress is endothermic (ΔH 0 >0) and spontaneous (ΔG 0 <0). nZVI/MCM-41/rGO has proven to be an effective and alternative material for the removal of Ni(II) ions from aqueous media due to its excellent removal ability, availability, and low cost. Emissions of nickel (Ni) are harmful to the environment and people‘s health. Although nano zero-valent iron (nZVI) has a lot of potential for treating water pollution, its instability and tendency for aggregation have limited its application. In order to improve its properties, composite adsorbent MCM-41/rGO supported nZVI (nZVI/MCM-41/rGO) is designed for improving the properties of nZVI, and it is characterized by SEM, XRD, FTIR and BET. The results show that it has an apparent Fe (0) crystallinity and modest rGO crystallinity, as well as a rough and porous structure. There are many oxygen-containing groups found on the surface of nZVI/MCM-41/rGO, such as −OH, −COOH, and Si−O. Flexible, miniature, and lightweight supercapacitor is ideal power source for next-generation portable and wearable electronics. However, their widespread application is limited by a critical drawback, self-discharge, which leads to energy loss during idle periods. To this end, a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-based nanofiber separator with piezoelectric properties that can effectively suppress self-discharge in supercapacitors, was prepared via electrospinning. By incorporating hydrophilic cellulose acetate (CA) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) into the PVDF matrix, both the electrolyte affinity and piezoelectric output of the separator are significantly enhanced. The resulting rGO/CA/PVDF composite membrane exhibits outstanding mechanical flexibility, high porosity, excellent electrolyte uptake, making it highly suitable separator for flexible supercapacitor. Supercapacitors equipped with such separator exhibit superior electrochemical performance with a specific capacitance of 178.2 F/g at 10 A/g. Notably, an impressive capacitance retention of 79 % was achieved after 24 h of self-discharge test. The reduction in self-discharge is primarily due to the limited diffusion of electrolyte ions, induced by the polarized rGO/CA/PVDF composite separator endowed with improved piezoelectric characteristics. This work highlights the potential of piezoelectric separators as an effective strategy for long-term energy retention, and offers new insights into the rational design of functional separators with self-discharge mitigation capabilities.

The rapid use and consumption of fossil fuels harms the environment and reduces energy supplies. However, the development of a substitute for energy reliable sources and energy storage devices is urgently required. Supercapacitors (SCs) are the recognized energy storage system with higher power density (P d ) and stability. Here, the SmCrO 3 /rGO nanocomposite electrodes was hydrothermally produced for supercapacitors. This experiment aimed to determine how rGO affected structural and electrochemical performance of pure SmCrO 3 materials. Various electrochemical test were used to examine into the material's electrochemical performance on three electrode systems. The SmCrO 3 /rGO has specific capacitance (C sp ) of 1135 F g −1 and current density (C d ) of 1 A g −1 , indicating outstanding hybrid performance as assessed by the galvanostatic charge-discharge parameter. Capacitance increased when rGO was transformed to SmCrO 3 because it stimulated faster charge transfer kinetics and greater conductivity. Furthermore, with a higher P d of 720 W kg −1 , and the energy density (E d ) was roughly 90 Wh kg −1 . In addition to showing the potential of the new SmCrO 3 /rGO as an SCs electrode, this work focuses on the ground-breaking technique of generating an ultra-performance, low-cost nanocomposite that might be deployed for several purposes in the future.

To extend the service life of shape memory ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), the titanium dioxide/reduced graphene oxide/EVA composites (TiO 2 -P/rGO/EVA and TiO 2 -PF/rGO/EVA) were prepared by an impregnation method and modified with triethoxy-1H,1H,2H,2H-tridecafluoro-n-octylsilane and 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorooctyltrichlorosilane as hydrophobic agents, respectively. The hydrophobic/anti-icing properties, surface durabilities, shape memory properties, and UV-aging resistance of the composites were systematically investigated. The TiO 2 /rGO/EVA composites exhibit exceptional hydrophobic and anti-icing performance. The TiO 2 -P/rGO/EVA composites and TiO 2 -PF/rGO/EVA composites displayed water contact angles of 150.7° and 152.2°, respectively, with sliding angles of 6.4° and 4.9°, and both retained these values after durability tests. Frozen droplets on the TiO 2 -P/rGO/EVA composites could melt and slide off after 36 s of NIR irradiation. The composite displayed outstanding two-way shape memory behavior with multi-stimuli responsiveness, achieving reversible deformation under either 40 V electrical stimulation or NIR irradiation. It also possessed near-complete UV shielding (≈ 100%) and remarkable UV resistance: after 14 days UV exposure, it maintains 22.10% reversible strain and 99.35% shape recovery ratio; after 28 days, relative electrical conductivity remains at 87.5%. Hydrophobicity persists for over 48 h under UV irradiation in N 2 atmosphere. Furthermore, the TiO 2 /rGO/EVA composites surface wettability can be modulated through UV irradiation-washing-recoating cycles.

rGO/Ni(OH) 2 /Ni 3 S 2 composite electrode materials were successfully synthesized on Ni foam (NF) by a two-step hydrothermal process and subsequent alkalization treatment. To investigate the influence of reaction time in the secondary hydrothermal process, three different hydrothermal times (4 h, 6 h, 8 h) were set. The results showed that the electrode had the highest specific capacitance of 2260 F·g −1 at 1 A·g −1 at the hydrothermal reaction time of 6 h, (4 h: 1807.8 F·g −1 , 8 h: 1358.3 F·g −1 ). In addition, it exhibited prominent rating capability and cycling stability, with 41.7% retention at 10 A·g −1 and 137.9% retention after 5000 cycles at 50 mV⋅s −1 . Finally, the assembled hybrid supercapacitor (HSC) with rGO/Ni(OH) 2 /Ni 3 S 2 /NF (6 h) and active carbon displayed outstanding electrochemical performance. When the power density was 400.5 W⋅kg −1 , it showed the energy density (25.2 Wh⋅kg −1 ), proving its potential as electrode materials for HSC devices.

Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) is endogenously generated by enzyme-triggered pathways and cellular metabolism, and its dysregulated accumulation is causally implicated in the initiation and progression of a broad spectrum of human diseases. Therefore, the accurate quantification of H₂O₂ is an indispensable analytical task. Herein, reduced graphene oxide was employed as the carbon precursor, aniline as the nitrogen source, and anhydrous copper (II) acetate as the copper provider to fabricate, via a one-pot protocol, an N-doped reduced graphene oxide/CuO (N-rGO/CuO) intermediate. Subsequent hydrazine etching produced an N-rGO/CuO composite exhibiting high sensitivity and selectivity toward H₂O₂. The microstructure, morphology, optical properties, elemental composition, and electrochemical characteristics of the material were systematically investigated. Amperometric measurements revealed a linear current response to H₂O₂ over the concentration range 10–3000 μM (R 2 = 0.992), a sensitivity of 1.6524 μA·mM −1 ·cm −2 , and a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.129 μM. These performance metrics demonstrate that the proposed biosensor possesses satisfactory selectivity, reproducibility, repeatability, and long-term stability.

Epinephrine (EP) is a crucial hormone secreted by adrenal, and its secretion and transmission are closely associated with various health conditions. Therefore, developing advanced EP detection methods is of great importance. Herein, an innovative electrochemical sensor has been successfully established based on the Fe 2 O 3 and reduced graphene oxide (Fe 2 O 3 –rGO) nanocomposite. Benefiting from the vast specific surface area of Fe 2 O 3 and the high conductivity of rGO, the Fe 2 O 3 –rGO nanocomposite was synthesized via a solvothermal method. The material was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to analyze its phase composition and morphology. The built sensor demonstrated highly sensitive and selective detection performance towards EP. The Fe 2 O 3 –rGO sensor demonstrated outstanding analytical performance for EP detection, achieving a low detection limit (LOD) of 0.18 µM and a wide linear range from 0.2 to 30 µM. This performance is superior to that of most previously reported electrochemical sensors for EP. The selectivity tests confirmed that the sensor showed excellent anti-interference capabilities against EP structural analogs and other potential interfering substances. In real sample assays, the Fe 2 O 3 –rGO sensor was successfully used to determine EP in commercial veterinary drug and spiked human serum samples, fully demonstrating its practical analytical value.

Reduced graphene oxide/zinc oxide-rods composites (RGO/ZnO) were prepared through simple hydrothermal treatment of graphene oxide /zinc peroxide (GO/ZnO 2 ) microspheres. The results of TEM, SEM and XRD show that the rod-like structure ZnO were successfully transformed from ZnO 2 microspheres after high temperature treatment and combine well with GO . The synthesized RGO/ZnO-rods composites showed better photocatalytic performance as compared to pure ZnO 2 , ZnO and GO/ZnO 2 under UV and visible-light irradiation. The improved photocatalytic performance of RGO/ZnO-rods composites was attributed to the uniform structure and excellent electrical conductivity of RGO, which could reduce the combination rate of the photo electron-hole pairs. After 5 consecutive cycles of testing, the RGO/ZnO-rods composites still have excellent photocatalytic performance, which was found to depend on ZnO content and NaCl concentration but was not affected by pH. The result of ESR experiment confirmed that the superoxide radicals (O 2 − ) and hydroxyl radicals (O H) play an important role in the decolorization process of MO. Additionally, the kinetic rate constant (K) and mechanism of RGO/ZnO-rods composites had also been studied.

Iron sulfides have attracted much interests for their potential as anode materials in energy storage devices in view of their low costs, and environmentally benign and high theoretical capacities. Among them, Fe1−xS is relatively rarely investigated. In this work, Fe1−xS@rGO has been synthesized using a facile in situ hydrothermal method. After wrapped by rGO, the morphology of Fe1−xS particles changes from hexagonal flakes to irregular particles with much smaller sizes. As the anode material for lithium ion batteries, Fe1−xS@rGO exhibits excellent lithium storage ability. It can deliver an initial discharge capacity of 1575.5 mA h/g in the potential window of 0.005–3 V, and a reversible capacity of 907.8 mA h/g can be maintained after 200 cycles at 100 mA/g. Its improved electrochemical performance can be attributed to the effect of enhanced contact area and shortened Li+ ion transport distance because of rGO’s contribution.

Random resistive access memory (RRAM) devices with a simple structure, low power consumption, and tunable switching behavior have emerged as promising candidates to simulate biological synapses. Here, we demonstrate solution-processable RRAM devices with FeC–rGO nanocomposites by intercalating nano-aggregating ferrocenes (FeCs) between the reduced graphene oxide (rGO) sheets, in which FeCs anchor on the surface of rGO through π–π stacking interactions. The Al/FeC–rGO/ITO devices fabricated by spin-coating exhibit a low SET/RESET voltage of −1.7 V/+2.1 V and a high ON/OFF ratio of 108, which results from the formation/rupture of conductive paths between rGO sheets gated by the redox of FeCs. Besides, the devices show high repeatability, excellent durability and favorable flexibility. In addition, the obtained device can be utilized to simulate the potentiation and depression of synapses by applying a pulse voltage below VSET, further contributing to image pattern recognition. Thus, this approach aims to fabricate information storage devices for future use in artificial intelligence.

In this work, we developed a high-performance NH 3 sensor based on GaN/rGO nanocomposites via a low-cost solvothermal method and subsequent nitridation process. The morphological, structural, and chemical compositions were investigated to demonstrate that GaN and rGO were coupled together by interfacial modulation, and the GaN/rGO heterostructure chemical bonds are successfully formed. Gas-sensing performance test results show that the fabricated GaN/rGO (2.2 wt%) NH 3 sensor exhibited a high response value (92%), fast response time (11 s), and low limit of detection (500 ppb) at room temperature . In addition, reproducibility, humidity, and long-term stability tests of the GaN/rGO sensor were also conducted in this work. The enhancement sensing mechanisms are attributed to the large specific surface area, the excellent conductivity of rGO, and resistance modulation effect of the heterojunction potential. Hence, the GaN/rGO gas sensor can be regarded as a promising sensing solution for atmospheric and exhaled NH 3 detection at room temperature.

LiFePO4/reduced graphene oxide composites (LiFePO4/RGO) were synthesized via a simple solid phase combined with carbothermal reduction method. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Furthermore, cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemicaal impendence spectroscopy (EIS) and galvanostatic charge/discharge tests were conducted to further study the electrochemical properties of LiFePO4/RGO composites. The initial discharge specific capacity of LiFePO4/RGO was 151.5 mAh g−1 at 0.1C, and after 50 cycles, it still remains 149.2 mAh g−1. The results reveal that LiFePO4/RGO composites improved the discharge specific capacity and rate charge-discharge performance.
