Cu(In,Ga)(S,Se) 2 (CIGSSe) solar cells are one of the most promising thin film photovoltaics with a record efficiency of 23.6%. However, the biggest drawback to CIGSSe solar cells is their high material cost, partially resulting from relatively rare and expensive indium and gallium. Therefore, improving the utilization of indium and gallium and reducing their wastage can greatly lower the cost of CIGSSe thin film solar cells. Inkjet printing is a facile, cost-effective, and low-waste deposition technology, which is particularly suitable for low-cost and large-area fabrication of CIGSSe solar cells. Herein, a novel and green ionic liquid-assisted ink to fabricate highly efficient CIGSSe solar cells is developed. The material utilization of inkjet printing can be remarkably improved compared to the conventional vacuum-based deposition approach and spin-coating solution approach. The CIGS printable ink is prepared by dissolving copper acetate, indium acetate, gallium nitrate, and thiourea into ethanol with the assistance of n -butylammonium butyrate ionic liquid. Ionic liquid-assisted CIGS ink has a nearly zero wetting angle and a tunable viscosity, which enable to deposit a flat and continuous CIGS thin film by an inkjet printing method. An encouraging power conversion efficiency of 15.22% has been achieved for inkjet-printed CIGSSe solar cells.

In this work, FeS supported SBA-15 mesoporous silica catalyst (FeS@SBA-15) was synthesized successfully, characterized and first applied to persulfate (PS) activation for the degradation of imidacloprid in wastewater. The as-prepared 3.5-FeS@SBA-15 presented an impressive imidacloprid removal efficiency of 93.1% and reaction stoichiometric efficiency (RSE) of 1.82% after 5 min, ascribed to the synergetic effects of improved FeS dispersion and abundant surface sites by SBA-15. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra and quenching experiments proved that both SO 4 ·- and ·OH were produced in FeS@SBA-15/PS system, and SO 4 ·- played a dominant role in the degradation process. The S 2- can accelerate the cycling of Fe(III)/Fe(II) during activation and increase the steady-state concentration of Fe(II). More importantly, the constructed heterogeneous system exhibited an efficient and stable catalytic activity over a wide range of pH (3.0-9.0), temperature (283K-313K), inorganic ion (NO 3 - ) and humic acid (1-20 mg/L). Moreover, the density functional theory calculations were conducted to predict the potential reaction sites of imidacloprid. Based on eighteen identified intermediates, four main degradation pathways were proposed: hydroxylation, dechlorination, hydrolysis, and the ring cleavage of the imidazolidine. ECOSAR analysis indicated hydroxylation and dechlorination played a key role in the detoxification of the formed compounds. These findings would provide new insights into the application of FeS@SBA-15 catalyst in wastewater treatment and the removal mechanism of imidacloprid from wastewater.

Single-atom catalysts (SACs) have been synthesized using a variety of methods in recent years, and they have shown excellent catalytic activities. However, metal atoms show a high tendency to agglomerate in liquid media, making the single atom synthesis more difficult in liquid media. The synthesis of such metal single-atom catalysts that do not have strong ligand coordination is rarely reported in the literature. Herein, we report the facile synthesis of monodispersed Au atoms (Au1) through the reduction in HAuCl4in 15-crown-5. The complete reduction in HAuCl4was confirmed through UV-Vis spectroscopy. In addition, the Au was found in a zero valence state after reduction, which was confirmed through XPS and XANES results. Moreover, the dispersion of Au was confirmed as a single atom (Au1) through transmission electron microscopy and spherical aberration electron microscopy. The possible structure of this catalyst was proposed by matching the EXAFS results with the structure of Au1@15-crown-5 as -(OC2H4O)-AuCl2H2. The Au1@15-crown-5 showed high activity (TOF as high as 22,075) in the reduction in nitrophenol and nitroaniline to aminophenol and phenylenediamine by sodium borohydride. Because of the monodispersion of Au atoms, its performance is much better than noble nanoparticles and non-precious metal catalysts. Keywords:gold;single atom;nitroaromatic compounds reduction;catalysis

Supported tungsten oxide catalysts are promising candidates for olefin epoxidation with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Understanding the structure–activity relationship is of great importance for developing more efficient tungsten oxide-based catalysts. Herein, WO3–SBA-15 with an isolated tetrahedron WO4 is synthesized using a direct incorporation strategy, and its TOF is 191 h−1 in cis-cyclooctene epoxidation with H2O2, which is much higher than that of WO3/SBA-15 (51 h−1) prepared using an impregnation method and that of bulk-WO3 (0.4 h−1). Its lowest apparent activation energy of 34.6 kJ mol−1 also corresponded to the remarkable performance of WO3–SBA-15. Kinetic analysis indicated that WO3–SBA-15 bound H2O2 more strongly than other catalysts, resulting in the facilitated activation of H2O2. By correlating the specific activity and the structure characterization, we considered that the high reactivity of WO3–SBA-15 was attributed to (i) more isolated WO4 sites, which were of benefit to the coordination and activation of H2O2 and (ii) a stronger metal–support interaction derived from isolated WO4 species, which favored the dissociation of an O–O bond in the W–OOH intermediate and contributed to the insertion of an oxygen atom into an olefin double bond. Furthermore, DFT calculations indicated that the isolated tungsten oxide was beneficial for lowering the energy barrier of electrophilic oxygen atom transfer, thereby facilitating epoxidation.

Phthalate esters (PAEs), a category of widely used plasticizers , are tend to migrate from plastic packaging to drinks. In this paper, we develop a simple and rapid coprecipitation method for synthesis of a magnetic covalent organic framework (COF) adsorbent. The fabricated COF-(TpBD)/Fe 3 O 4 was applied to magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) of 15 phthalate esters (PAEs) for subsequent GC-MS/MS determination in beverage samples. The as-synthesized magnetic adsorbent exhibited great potential in PAEs analysis with a limit of detection of 15 PAEs ranged from 0.005 to 2.748 μg L −1 (S/N = 3). The intra-day and inter-day relative standard deviations (RSD) value of the PAEs were less than 8.8% and 9.9%, respectively. The adsorbent can be reused after washing with methanol. The developed method was successfully applied for the determination of trace PAEs in eight beverages with recoveries ranging from 79.3% to 121.8% and RSDs were less than 11.9%. This work provides a simple magnetization process, which facilitates the application of COFs for enrichment and separation of PAEs in beverages with different matrices.

Non-noble metal(s)-based mesoporous catalysts are one of the promising catalysts for aqueous phase hydrodeoxygenation of lignin-derived phenols to produce hydrocarbons. In this paper, Ni/Al-SBA-15 was prepared through incipient wetness impregnation method and the performance of eugenol hydrodeoxygenation over Ni/Al-SBA-15 was studied. The effect of incipient wetness impregnant on the performance of eugenol hydrodeoxygenation over Ni/Al-SBA-15 was investigated. The materials were characterized by XRD, N 2 -sorption, TEM, FTIR, Py-FTIR, XRF and ICP-MS. In comparison with the traditional incipient wetness impregnation using water as solvent, the activity of Ni/Al-SBA-15 was significantly improved by using ethanol as solvent during the process of incipient wetness impregnation. For Ni/Al-SBA-15, the quantity of total acid was decreased after loading nickel species which was mainly due to the decrease of Lewis acid sites. The strength of Lewis acid in Ni/Al-SBA-15 prepare with ethanol as impregant was enhanced. The yields of propyl cyclohexane and propylbenzene from aqueous phase hydrodeoxygeation of eugenol over Ni/Al-SBA-15-E were increased. The super catalytic behavior of Ni/Al-SBA-15-E was attributed to the synergistic effect between the stronger Lewis acid sites and the intact framework structure of Ni/Al-SBA-15-E.

Ketalization of cyclohexanone with glycol has been carried out using molecular sieve SBA-15 immobilized Brønsted acidic ionic liquid catalyst. The properties of the heterogeneous catalysts were characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetry/differential scanning calorimetry (TG/DSC), and N2 adsorption–desorption (BET). The results suggested that Brønsted acidic ionic liquid [BSmim][HSO4] had been successfully immobilized on the surface of SBA-15 and the catalytic performance evaluation demonstrated that the catalyst BAIL@SBA-15 exhibited excellent catalytic activities in the ketalization of cyclohexanone with glycol. In addition, the effects of reaction temperature, catalyst loading, reaction time, and reactant molar ratio have also been investigated in detail, and a general reaction mechanism for the ketalization of cyclohexanone with glycol was given. The SBA-15 immobilized ionic liquid can be recovered easily and after reusing for 5 times in the ketalization reaction, the catalyst could still give satisfactory catalytic activity.

A simple and eco-friendly approach for green oxidation of aldehydes has been proposed, which employed highly efficient heterogeneous catalysts tungsten-doped modified silica SBA-15 (W-SBA-15) as catalysts and H 2 O 2 as a green oxidant. W-SBA-15 were synthesized by immobilizing tungsten species on modified SBA-15 and first used in the aldehydes oxidation reaction. W-SBA-15-APTS (0.002 g, APTS, a kind of modifier) displayed an equivalent catalytic activity comparable to that of homogenous catalyst (H 2 WO 4 , 0.5 g) and maintained excellent catalytic activity over 20 cycles. The pore diameter, ca . 7.94–9.14 nm, of W-SBA-15 provides a suitable mesoscopic environment for the substrate, and the product can diffuse freely during the oxidation of glutaraldehyde (GA). Effective but different catalytic performance of W-SBA-15 for the oxidation of other aldehydes suggests the universal applicability of W-SBA-15. The possible mechanism of the oxidation state of tungsten species in W-SBA-15-APTS was proposed; tungsten species are not only attached to APTS but also incorporated into the framework of SBA-15.

A series of Pd-Ni bimetallic catalysts supported on SBA-15 (0.2%Pd-x%Ni/SBA-15, x = 0.4, 0.7, and 1.2) were prepared through the impregnation method combined with the NaBH4reduction method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2adsorption-desorption, X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) were used to characterize the prepared catalysts. All the synthesized catalysts were evaluated for the liquid-phase hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde (CAL). The addition of Ni obviously enhanced the CAL conversion and selectivity of C=C hydrogenation to hydrocinnamaldehyde (HALD) over the 0.2%Pd-x%Ni/SBA-15 catalysts. Meanwhile, 0.2%Pd-1.2%Ni/SBA-15 showed the best performance with 96.3% conversion and 87.8% selectivity toward HALD. This improvement was attributed to the synergistic effect between the Pd and Ni nanoparticles, enhancing the dispersion of Pd metal particles and increasing the content of surface Pd0species. In addition, the influences of a few reaction factors including H2pressure, reaction temperature, and reaction time were studied over 0.2%Pd-1.2%Ni/SBA-15.Keywords:selective hydrogenation;cinnamaldehyde;hydrocinnamaldehyde;synergistic effect;Pd-Ni/SBA-15

Cellulose nanofiber was grafted on Ti 3 C 2 T x (Ti 3 C 2 T x @CNF) and then Ti 3 C 2 Tx@CNF nanohybrid acted as nanofiller to endow epoxy coating superior barrier property. Electrochemical tests and corrosion products revealed that incorporation of Ti 3 C 2 T x @CNF into epoxy could significantly improve its anti-corrosion performance. Even immersion in marine alternating hydrostatic pressure (AHP) environment for 240 h, the impedance modulus of composite coating was one order of magnitude higher as compared with controlled samples. Besides, cross-sectional structure confirmed that Ti 3 C 2 T x @CNF remarkable improve the compactness of coating and thus conferring active adhesion strength with twice higher than that of pure epoxy after 240 h immersion in AHP.

Methyl phenyl carbonate (MPC) is one of the versatile carbonates; in particular, it is an important component in lithium-ion batteries. In recent years, the catalytic synthesis of MPC has become an important topic, but the development of highly active catalysts is still challenging. In this study, SBA-15-loaded nano-sized Pb–Bi catalysts with different Pb/Bi molar ratios were prepared by deposition–precipitation to improve the efficiency and selectivity. To investigate the relationship between the structure and performance of the catalysts, XRD , BET, SEM-EDS, HRTEM , H 2 -TPR, and XPS characterization, as well as catalytic activity and stability tests, were conducted. Results revealed that Pb–Bi/SBA-15 can efficiently catalyze the synthesis of MPC under solvent-free conditions, with the highest catalytic activity obtained over 6 Pb–1Bi/SBA-15. SBA-15 with a large pore size and a high specific surface area was suitable as catalyst carrier, and the average diameter of Pb–Bi oxide particles was ∼3.57 nm. The addition of Bi led to the improved dispersion of active components, which were highly and evenly dispersed on the SBA-15 surface. Furthermore, an appropriate proportion of Pb and Bi on SBA-15 was conducive to the considerable enhancement of the catalytic activity. Besides, Pb–Bi/SBA-15 also exhibited good durability and recyclability, making it a promising catalytic material for the synthesis of various carbonates.

Propane dehydrogenation is a promising way to produce propylene . Catalysts with high propane conversion, selectivity to propylene , and stability are vital to this technology. In this work, we determined that the catalytic performance of Pt/SBA-15 can be significantly enhanced by introducing an appropriate amount of indium . A too low ratio of In/Pt (1/8) or too high of a ratio (2/1) is detrimental to the activity of the catalyst. When the nominal ratio of Pt to In is 1/1, the initial propane conversion and selectivity towards propylene over 1Pt1In/SBA-15 are highest among all catalysts tested at 57.06 % and 99.04 %, respectively. The conversion rate decreased to 39.63 % after 28 h of reaction, but selectivity was retained at greater than 99 %. Very little coke was deposited on the used 1Pt1In/SBA-15 catalyst. With catalyst characterization, it was proposed that Pt 1 In 1 alloy nanoparticles with surface-enriched In 2 O 3 were responsible for the selective dehydrogenation of propane.
