Rubber tires, as an important part of automobiles, are produced by molding operation under molten temperature and high pressure. However, mold fouling during the vulcanization process is a rock-ribbed problem that not only leads to the loss in productivity and degradation of product quality but also results in severe accidents and enormous economic losses. In this work, a promising Co-Mo/CeO 2 composite coating was electroplated and investigated to solve the mold fouling problem. The effect of CeO 2 content on the surface morphology, microstructure, hardness, tribological and electrochemical behavior is systematically studied. With an addition of 10 g/L CeO 2 , the Co-Mo/CeO 2 composite coating not only possesses the highest microhardness, the best wear and corrosion resistance but also features hydrophobicity and remarkable mold antifouling performance. This study offers a new strategy for producing composite coatings with excellent performance to reduce mold fouling in practical tire industry applications. Graphical Abstract
Co-Mo/CeO 2 composite coatings with excellent corrosion and wear resistance as well as low surface energy were simply electrodeposited and applicated for antifouling in tire mold for the first time.

Mo 2 C doped WC-10Co alloys were prepared via an in - situ synthesis method composed of steps of spray drying, roasting, carbothermal pre-reduction and carbonization-vacuum sintering. The effects of Mo 2 C content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of cemented carbides were studied in detail. The results showed that WC and Mo 2 C formed a complete solid solution by the current method. With the increase of Mo 2 C content from 0 wt% to 0.5 wt%, the effects of solution strengthening and fine grain strengthening were obvious, and the grain size was decreased from 0.72 ± 0.32 μm to 0.62 ± 0.27 μm, while the hardness was improved from 1316 ± 20 HV 30 to 1549 ± 14 HV 30 . However, the (W, Mo)C solid solution would deteriorate the fracture toughness of the alloys. With the further increase of Mo 2 C content to 9 wt%, the lattice distortion in the solid solution became more serious. Meanwhile, the dissolution of more Mo 2 C in the liquid Co further weakened the dissolution-precipitation process of the solid solution, thus inhibiting the growth of grains and increasing the hardness of the alloys. In addition, with the increase of Mo 2 C content, the dominant fracture mode of the alloy changed from transgranular fracture to intergranular fracture .

Biomimetic photocatalytic nitrogen fixation is considered as a potential alternative to the Haber-Bosch method, which is an ideal pathway for nitrogen reduction. The development of efficient bionanocatalysts is a serious challenge in the current field of biomimetic nitrogen fixation. Here, we introduced a second metal in the MIL-88A/Fe mesh by metal doping to build a Mo-doped MIL-88A(Fe/Mo)/Fe mesh biomimetic system. The catalyst is a rod-like structure synthesized in situ by hydrothermal method using iron mesh as the substrate, and its rough surface is favorable for the adsorption of N 2 . The introduction of Mo provides a two-electron transfer pathway for the reaction, and the formation of the "MoFe cofactor" effectively promotes charge separation and inhibits the photoelectron-hole complexation. In addition, we kept the catalyst above the liquid surface and provided the proton source through water vapor, which solved the problem of the low solubility of N 2 in water and poor mass transfer efficiency. The results show that the biomimetic photocatalyst has good photoresponsiveness in the whole visible region, and the synergistic effect between the two metals makes the MIL-88A (Fe/Mo 0.017 )/Fe mesh exhibit better photocatalytic performance, and its nitrogen fixation efficiency reaches about 9.6 times that of the original MIL-88A/Fe mesh. This study provides a new idea for the design of photocatalytic ammonia biomimetic photocatalysts.

Corrosion test of Mo in LiF-LiCl-LiBr salt with different SO 4 2 content have been studied. MoO 2 , Mo 3 S 4 and MoS 2 was formed after corrosion. The SO 4 2- will corrode the grain boundary of Mo and lead to the decomposition of large Mo grain. Moreover, the formation of different corrosion products will lead to significant changes in volume and destroy the stable oxide layer which could be protective. The Mo will be severely corroded in LiF-LiCl-LiBr molten salt with a higher content of SO 4 2- .

The development of efficient electrochemical seawater splitting catalysts for large-scale hydrogen production is of great importance. In this work, we report an amorphous Co-Mo-B film on Ni foam (Co-Mo-B/NF) via a facile one-step electrodeposition process. Such amorphous Co-Mo-B/NF possesses superior activity with a small overpotential of 199 mV at 100 mA cm−2for a hydrogen evolution reaction in alkaline seawater. Notably, Co-Mo-B/NF also maintains excellent stability for at least 24 h under alkaline seawater electrolysis. Keywords:amorphous Co-Mo-B film;alkaline seawater electrolysis;hydrogen evolution reaction

Pyrolysis technology has been focused on waste plastics for recycling. However, there is rare research for reusing pyrolysis products (carbon nanotubes). Based on pyrolysis technology of waste polypropylene (PP) plastic, carbon nanotube coated Fe–Mo/MgO nanomaterial (CNT@Fe–Mo/MgO) was prepared by chemical vapor deposition to remove Gram-pathogenic bacteria. The addition of Mo and MgO promoted the cracking of PP plastic and the formation of MWCNTs. The as-obtained CNT@Fe–Mo/MgO can stimulate H 2 O/O 2 to produce abundant ·OH, ·O 2 − and 1 O 2 radicals, which probably resulting from the synergistic effect of delocalization of CNTs and REDOX pair of Fe 3 O 4 . Consequently, the removal rate of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus by CNT@Fe–Mo/MgO composite catalyst can reach 100% within 2h, without the help of any additional energy or active oxidant. At the same time, the material is remarkable stability and reusability with complete removal of pathogens after six cycles. This study not only provides a method for the synthesis of highly effective sterilizers , but also opens up a new direction for the application of functional carbon nanocomposites prepared by pyrolysis of waste plastics.

Mo, V and W oxides supported on montmorillonite (Mt) have shown good activity in catalytic glycerol oxidehydration. However, these catalysts deactivate rapidly due to coking. Understanding the role of Mo, V and W oxides in coke formation is essential to overcome the coking problem. Herein, individual and combination of Mo, V and W oxides supported on Mt were investigated to reveal the contribution of Mo, V and W oxides to coke formation. Among single metal oxide catalysts, Mo-Mt and W-Mt suffered more from coke formation than V-Mt. A mixture of Mo 5+ and Mo 6+ in the Mo-Mt catalyst hindered full oxidation during the oxidehydration, thus promoting coking. The oxidation of V 4+ to V 5+ helped diminish coke in mixed Mo-V-Mt and W-V-Mt. This work is expected to provide new information for designing high-performance Mo, V and W oxide catalysts with superior coke resistance.

Developing non-precious metal electrocatalysts with high activity and stability are of great significance to achieve overall water splitting. In this work, cobalt-molybdenum nitride nanosheet arrays grown on Ni foam (CoMoN x NSAs/NF) were prepared via a facile hydrothermal and nitridation process. The resulting CoMoN x NSAs/NF not only has a specific large surface area and provides more active sites but also possesses good electrical conductivity, contributing to the fast reaction kinetics. Furthermore, the synergistic effect between Co 2 N and Mo 2 N cooperatively enhance the charge transfer, thus further improving the electrocatalytic activity. Benefiting from these merits, the optimal CoMoN x -500 NSAs/NF exhibits excellent activities for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) with overpotentials of 91 and 231 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm −2 , respectively. Moreover, the CoMoN x -500 NSAs/NF||CoMoN x -500 NSAs/NF couple requires a low cell voltage of 1.55 V at the current density of 10 mA cm −2 , which is much superior to many other reported transition metal nitrides catalysts. This present work provides a reference for the design of bimetallic nitrides with superior electrocatalytic performance for overall water splitting.

Two-dimensional (2D) lamellar ReS2 nanosheets are considered a promising electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) but suffer from poor intrinsic conductivity and catalytically inert basal planes. In this work, sub 50 nm hierarchical Mo-doped ReS2 nanospheres consisting of numerous few-layered and defect-rich nanosheets are designed and synthesized as robust and efficient HER catalysts. On the one hand, the small size of the hierarchical structure, the disordered basal planes and the expanded interlayer endow the nanosheets with plentiful defects, thereby resulting in abundant exposed active sites. On the other hand, Mo-doping offers the nanosheets with some electronic benefits of unsaturated electrons, improved intrinsic conductivity, and optimized hydrogen adsorption free energy (ΔGH) of the basal planes. Owing to the synergistic effects, the 10%Mo-ReS2 catalyst exhibits an optimized catalytic activity with striking kinetic metrics of a small Tafel slope of 62 mV dec−1, a low overpotential of 81 mV at 10 mA cm−2, and a long operation stability of 50 h, and its performance is among the best of ReS2-based catalysts. This work provides a new approach for gaining the structural and electronic benefits of ReS2 catalysts by combinational nanoscale engineering and heteroatom doping.

Recent advances in analytical techniques have achieved high-precision (2σ ≤ 0.06‰) determinations of Mo isotopic ratios in silicate rocks but few such data are as yet available, especially for low-Mo (<50 ppb) rocks such as leucogranites . Here we present two low-blank, double-spike, high-yield, ion-exchange chromatographic methods (single- and two-column) for precise determination of Mo isotopic ratios in low-Mo rock samples (10–500 ppb) using multicollector–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (MC–ICP–MS). The two-column technique involved AG 1-X8 anion-exchange (100–200 mesh) and BPHA chelatin resins, with the latter also used in the single-column procedure. Two USGS reference materials (basalt BIR-1a and diabase W-2a) were analyzed for quality-control purposes. Their δ 98/95 Mo values determined using the two methods are consistent within uncertainties, and with those determined by previously published methods. We provide the first Mo isotopic data for the reference materials of dunite DTS-2b (USGS), GPt-3 (NRCG) and peridotite WPR-1 (CCRMP). δ 98/95 Mo values for DTS-2b and WPR-1 by using two-column procedure are in good agreement with those obtained by single-column separation. Repeated analyses of these standards indicate a long-term external reproducibility of better than ±0.05‰. However, the δ 98/95 Mo values of GPt-3 show poor reproducibility due to either the sample heterogeneity or existing undigested minerals (e.g., spinel). The methods were applied to leucogranites with low Mo contents of 10–74 ppb from the Himalaya orogen and southern Lhasa terrane of Tibet . The isotopic analyses yielded δ 98/95 Mo values of −0.2‰ to 0.34‰ and −0.41‰ to −0.68‰ (against NIST SRM 3134), respectively, within the range of values for igneous crust. Their contrasting Mo isotopic compositions may indicate compositional diversity in their sources or differences in magma evolution .

Ni-based alloys are considered as the efficient catalyst for hydrogen-storage materials decomposition. Herein, we applied an in-situ melt-quenching method to dope Mo in Ni-based alloy for catalytic hydrogen evolution from hydrogen-storage materials. Importantly, Mo doped Ni-based catalyst exhibits more than 6 times higher TOF value than that of pure Ni both in AB hydrolysis and hydrazine decomposition, because Mo acts as an electron donor to improve the reducibility of Ni. Hydrogen evolution kinetics were studied over a range of temperatures (303–353 K) and initial feed concentrations (catalyst/hydrogen-storage materials (wt/wt) ratios = 0.2–10). Under optimal reaction conditions, the H 2 evolution rate reaches 1.92 mol H 2 /(mol cat min) and 0.05 mol H 2 /(mol cat min) in the hydrolysis of ammonia borane and decomposition of hydrazine, which are 6.42 and 6.44 times higher than undoped Ni catalyst, respectively. And the apparent activation energy of ammonia borane hydrolysis and hydrazine decomposition were evaluated to be 26.66 ± 3.31 kJ/mol and 40.01 ± 3.38 kJ/mol, respectively.

Mo(VI)-containing phosphates are widely used in catalyses, ion batteries, and nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals. However, few strategies can effectively guide the syntheses of the Mo(VI)-containing phosphates. In this paper, three new Mo(VI)-containing phosphates, Cs3Mo12PO40, LiK(MoPO6)2, and Sr(MoPO6)2, with different dimensions have been successfully synthesized by adjusting the Mo/P ratios. Interestingly, Cs3Mo12PO40 is a classic Keggin-type polyoxometalate composed of zero-dimensional (0D) [Mo12PO40]3– clusters, whereas LiK(MoPO6)2 and Sr(MoPO6)2 have three-dimensional (3D) [MoO2O4P]∞ frameworks consisting of MoO6 octahedra and PO4 tetrahedra in a 1/1 ratio. Detailed structural comparisons of Mo(VI)-containig phosphates indicate that the Mo/P ratios have a significant effect on the structural dimensions. Further, the optical properties and thermal stabilities of Cs3Mo12PO40, LiK(MoPO6)2, and Sr(MoPO6)2 are also determined.
