B vitamins play important roles in various physiological processes, including cell metabolism and DNA synthesis. The intestine is critical for the absorption and utilization of B vitamins, but few analytical methods for detecting intestinal B vitamins are currently available. In this study, we developed a novel liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for the simultaneous quantification of 10 B vitamins in mouse colon tissue, including thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), nicotinic acid (B3), niacinamide (B3-AM), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), pyridoxal 5′-phosphate (B6-5P), biotin (B7), folic acid (B9), and cyanocobalamin (B12). The method was thoroughly validated following the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines and yielded good results in terms of linearity (r 2 > 0.9928), lower limit of quantification (40–600 ng/g), accuracy (88.9–119.80 %) and precision (relative standard deviation ≤ 19.71 %), recovery (87.95–113.79 %), matrix effect (91.26–113.78 %), and stability (85.65–114.05 %). Furthermore, we applied our method to profile B vitamins in the colons of mice with breast cancer after doxorubicin chemotherapy treatment, which revealed that the doxorubicin treatment led to significant colon damage and accumulation of several B vitamins including B1, B2 and B5. We also confirmed the capability of this method for quantifying B vitamins in other intestinal tissues like the ileum, jejunum, and duodenum . The newly developed method is simple, specific, and useful for targeted profiling of B vitamins in mouse colon, with a potential for future studies on the role of these micronutrients in healthy and diseased states.

7-Ethyl-10-hydroxyl camptothecin (SN38), a semisynthetic derivative of camptothecin, exhibited extreme pharmacological activities in treating a range of cancers. However, its poor aqueous solubility and low stability hinder its clinical applications. Hence, a redox-responsive SN38 prodrug encapsulated human serum albumin (HSA) nanoparticle is developed to realize its potential in the clinic. First, a disulfide bond bridged 7-ethyl-10-hydroxyl camptothecin-undecanoic acid conjugate (SN38-SS-COOH) was synthesized and characterized structurally. After that, SN38-SS-COOH/HSA nanoparticles (SNH NPs) were prepared by the desolvation method. The SNH NPs with a feed molar ratio of 9 : 1 of SN38-SS-COOH : HSA showed a spherical structure with a diameter range of approximately 120–150 nm revealed by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Fluorescence quenching confirmed the formation of SNH NP complexes by dual hydrophobic force and electrostatic interaction. The SNH NPs have a high drug loading of 10.44% and an encapsulation efficiency of 89.59% with good stability. Moreover, the redox responsiveness was validated by glutathione (GSH)-triggered accelerated release of parent drug SN38. In an in vivo pharmacokinetic study, the SNH NPs exhibited a significantly prolonged circulation time (t1/2, 3.77-fold) compared with free SN38. Finally, the in vivo antitumor efficacy and systemic toxicity of SNH NPs in a breast xenograft model were thoroughly evaluated. The inhibition rate of tumor growth induced by the SNH NPs reached 70.1%, while only 50.1% was achieved for irinotecan at an equivalent SN38 dosage of 10 mg kg−1. More importantly, the SNH NPs achieved a higher level of tumor growth inhibition (85.3%) by increasing the dosage to 60 mg kg−1 SN38 without obvious adverse effects. Taken together, the use of redox-responsive SN38 prodrug/HSA NPs could be a promising strategy to deliver highly active SN38 for breast cancer chemotherapy.

Ion doping is an effective strategy for achieving high-performance flexible Cu 2 ZnSn(S,Se) 4 (CZTSSe) solar cells by defect regulations. Here, a Li&Na co-doped strategy is applied to synergistically regulate defects in CZTSSe bulks. The quality absorbers with the uniformly distributed Li and Na elements are obtained using the solution method, where the acetates (LiAc and NaAc) are as additives. The concentration of the harmful Cu Zn anti-site defects is decreased by 8.13% after Li incorporation, and that of the benign Na Zn defects is increased by 36.91% after Na incorporation. Synergistic Li&Na co-doping enhances the carrier concentration and reduces the interfacial defects concentration by one order of magnitude. As a result, the flexible CZTSSe solar cell achieves a power conversion efficiency ( PCE ) of 10.53% with certified 10.12%. Because of the high PCE and the homogeneous property, the Li&Na co-doped device is fabricated to a large area (2.38 cm 2 ) and obtains 9.41% PCE . The co-doping investigation to synergistically regulate defects provides a new perspective for efficient flexible CZTSSe solar cells.

Graphical At the boundary : SrZr 0.9 Y 0.1 O 3− δ has high proton transport number in wet oxygen, moderate proton conductivity and high chemical stability. Its grain boundary has lower proton transport number than that of bulk, possibly due to decreased proton mobility and tunnelling of electron holes across the grain boundary. Proton conducting acceptor-doped SrZrO 3 has a history as long as that of BaZrO 3 , but has attracted less interest. Inspired by its higher transport number of ionic conduction in wet oxygen revealed by our recent work, we here explore further aspects of doped SrZrO 3 as electrolyte in proton ceramic electrochemical cells. In-situ high temperature XRD (HT-XRD) analysis of SrZr 0.9 Y 0.1 O 3− δ (SZY10) indicated an anisotropic chemical expansion of hydration, stronger along the b than the a direction, and negative in the c direction. A systematic electromotive force (EMF) and impedance spectroscopy study as a function of and allowed determination of partial conductivities of electron holes and ions (mainly protons) in bulk (grain interior) and grain boundaries. Enthalpies and preexponentials were determined and interpreted for bulk and grain boundary partial conductivities based on defect chemistry and a brick layer model. The hole conductivity in bulk is modest and ensures high ionic transport numbers in oxidizing atmospheres, while grain boundaries exhibit lower ionic transport numbers from a relatively higher hole conductivity attributed primarily to tunnelling past the deepest part of the space charge region. Y-doped SrZrO 3 (SZY) materials exhibit lower proton conductivities but excel over Y-doped BaZrO 3 (BZY) in terms of thermal expansion compatibility with electrode materials and higher ionic transport numbers in oxidizing atmospheres and may hence be candidates for functional layers between BZY-based electrolytes and positrodes in proton ceramic electrochemical cells.

Fish oils are a rich source of polyunsaturated fatty acids, including eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, which are reported to exhibit therapeutic effects in a variety of human diseases. However, these oils are highly susceptible to degradation due to oxidation, leading to rancidity and the formation of potentially toxic reaction products. The aim of this study was to synthesize a novel emulsifier (HA-PG10-C18) by esterifying hyaluronic acid with poly(glyceryl)10-stearate (PG10-C18). This emulsifier was then used to formulate nanoemulsion-based delivery systems to co-deliver fish oil and coenzyme Q10 (Q10). Q10-loaded fish oil-in-water nanoemulsions were fabricated, and then their physicochemical properties, digestibility, and bioaccessibility were measured. The results indicated that the environmental stability and antioxidant activity of oil droplets coated with HA-PG10-C18 surpassed those coated with PG10-C18 due to the formation of a denser interfacial layer that blocked metal ions, oxygen, and lipase. Meanwhile, the lipid digestibility and Q10 bioaccessibility of nanoemulsions formulated with HA-PG10-C18 (94.9 and 69.2%) were higher than those formulated with PG10-C18 (86.2 and 57.8%), respectively. These results demonstrated that the novel emulsifier synthesized in this study could be used to protect chemically labile fat-soluble substances from oxidative damage, while still retaining their nutritional value.

The preparation of stable metal–organic framework tubular membranes for liquid mixture separation has always been a tough problem. Herein, a flexibly prepared, continuous, and stable Al-based CAU-10 membrane with ceramic tubes as support was developed by a thin γ-Al2O3 layer induction method and employed for the first time in the separation of MeOH/MTBE azeotropic mixtures through pervaporation. The γ-Al2O3 layer introduced on the tube by the dip-coating technique not only facilitated the crystal nucleation and continuous growth of CAU-10 membranes but also reinforced the membrane stability by acting as anchoring sites between the membrane and the substrate. The as-prepared CAU-10 tubular membrane exhibited excellent separation performance for MeOH/MTBE mixtures owing to its suitable pore size and good hydrophilicity. For the separation of 14.3 wt % MeOH/MTBE azeotropic mixtures, the membrane displayed a permeation flux of 1.76 kg/(m2 h) and a high separation factor of 2041 at 50 °C, which is better than most of the membranes reported for the pervaporation separation of MeOH/MTBE mixtures. More excitedly, the CAU-10 tubular membrane continued to be tested for more than 7 days without any obvious change in pervaporation performance, demonstrating its outstanding operational and hydrothermal stability. Accordingly, the CAU-10 tubular membrane would be a promising alternative to separate the MeOH/MTBE azeotropic mixtures due to its easy preparation, high performance, and excellent stability.

In the present study, we investigated the chemical interaction between 10-methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate (10-MDP) and methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (gamma-MPS) in one-bottle primer solutions and its effect on dentine bonding performance. Solutions containing 10 wt% 10-MDP and/or gamma-MPS at 0, 1, 5, 10, or 15 wt% were prepared, providing 10 experimental groups (labeled MDP/MPS xx or MPS xx , where MDP indicates the presence of 10 wt% MDP and xx is the wt% of gamma-MPS in the solution). Phosphoric-acid-etched dentine blocks were prepared from human molars and conditioned in the solutions before being used to build resin-dentine-bonded specimens, which were subsequently subjected to microtensile bond strength (μTBS) testing after 24-h or six-months water storage. Interfacial nanoleakage was evaluated by SEM observation. All the primer-conditioned samples showed significantly higher initial μTBS values than that of the control group, and six-months water storage significantly lowered the μTBS for all the groups; however, the decreases for MDP/MPS10 and MDP/MPS15 were significantly greater than those for MDP/MPS1 and the control solution. Furthermore, MDP/MPS10 and MDP/MPS15 groups also showed more serious nanoleakage. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analyses were used to investigate the chemical affinity between 10-MDP and hydroxyapatite (HAp). In XRD analysis , the intensities of peaks assigned to 10-MDP-calcium salts were lower for the solutions containing gamma-MPS. Overall, the results indicate that the copresence of gamma-MPS (above 10 wt%) and 10-MDP in one-bottle primer solutions inhibit the formation of 10-MDP-calcium salts, leading to increased long-term nanoleakage and decreased bonding durability.

Tea polyphenols, chlorophyll and lutein generally cause strong matrix effects and challenge analysis of trace substances in tea. Seven frequently used adsorbents were chosen to test removal ability for tea polyphenols, chlorophyll and lutein based on the adsorption isotherm fitting. Results showed that MWCNTs-NH 2 demonstrated the strongest removal ability, which may be ascribed to the π-π and electrostatic interaction. Then a method of MWCNTs-NH 2 modified QuEChERS coupled with HPLC-MS/MS detection of 10 organophosphorus pesticide residues in tea was developed and validated. Unlike traditional QuEChERS, only one adsorbent (MWCNTs-NH 2 ) was applied in this method to replace the combined effect of various adsorbents, which improved the easiness and generality of the method. The LOQs were 1.7–9.0 µg/kg. The average recovery rate ranged from 72% to 116% with RSDs less than 14%. This study provides a targeted strategy to develop analysis method for trace substances in a complicated matrix.

Saturated vapor pressures of pure dimethyl adipate and isobaric vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for the binary system of dimethyl adipate + 1,6-hexanediol at 10, 20, and 99 kPa were determined by a modified Othmer still. All of the VLE data passed the thermodynamic consistency test by Wisniak and Van Ness methods. The experimental data were correlated with the NRTL, Wilson, and UNIQUAC models. The results showed that the UNIQUAC model is slightly better among the three models.

The electrochemical properties of 10-Hydroxycamptothecin were investigated systematically at a reduced graphene oxide modified glassy carbon electrode. A new pair of redox peaks of 10-Hydroxycamptothecin was reported for the first time with quasi-reversible process driven by adsorption. The dynamics parameters of electrode process were calculated using various electrochemical techniques. Owing to the large surface area, good conductivity of electrochemically reduced graphene oxide, the sensor exhibited sensitive activity for 10-Hydroxycamptothecin, displaying a wide linear response from 1.5 × 10 −8 mol L −1 to 5.0 × 10 −7 mol L −1 and 5.0 × 10 −7 mol L −1 to 3.0 × 10 −6 mol L −1 ( Fig. 8 ). A simple, sensitive and new voltammetric method for the determination of 10-Hydroxycamptothecin was proposed with a determination limit of 1.5 × 10 −8 mol L −1 and recoveries were determined in the range of 94.2–104%.

The carbon supported 10% Ni catalysts doped with 3‰ Rh have been prepared by an impregnation method. These catalysts have been used to catalyze the one-step hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to cyclohexylamine. The results show that the 3‰ Rh–10% Ni/CSC (biocarbon) catalyst exhibits an excellent performance to achieve 100 mol% conversion of nitrobenzene and 91.6% selectivity of cyclohexylamine under reaction conditions of 3.5 MPa and 140 °C. The recycling tests reveal recyclable stability of 3‰ Rh–10% Ni/CSC. This catalyst is active for the hydrogenation of a series of electron-deficient nitrobenzenes. Some factors such as the type of carriers, the content of Ni and Rh, the type of metals and additives play important roles in controlling the selective hydrogenation.

Oxygenates are usually used as fuel additives. Recently, di-isopropyl ether (DIPE) has been considered as the potential fuel additive for the replacement of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). So it is essential to research its thermophysical properties. In this paper, the speed of sound in DIPE was measured from 303.15 K to 673.15 K up to 10 MPa using Brillouin light scattering (BLS), including saturated liquid/vapour, and the liquid and supercritical regions. The saturated liquid/vapour and single phase liquid results were fitted as functions of temperature and pressure. The correlations represent the data with AADs of 0.62% for the saturated liquid, 0.44% for the saturated vapour and 0.73% for the liquid, respectively. Moreover, the variation of speed of sound with temperature and pressure was also analysed.
