Sugars, organic acids, and lipids generally cause strong matrix effects, posing a challenge in the analysis of trace substances in honey. In this study, method involving a modified QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe) protocol coupled with high–performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS/MS) was developed for the analysis of multiresidue antibiotic in honey samples. Several adsorbents were selected and their abilities to reduce matrix interference and improve detection sensitivity were tested. Zinc oxide (ZnO) proved to be the most effective clean-up adsorbent for the purification of honey samples. Good linearity was found in the concentration range from limits of quantification (LOQs) to 20.0 ng mL –1 for all antibiotics, and for concentration up to 40.0 ng mL –1 for some types of antibiotics, with correlation coefficients exceeding 0.9991. The limits of detection (LODs) ranged from 0.24 to 0.68 μg kg –1 , and the LOQs were in the range of 0.80–2.27 μg kg –1 . The average recoveries ranged from 81.3 % to 99.0 % at three fortified levels with RSDs below 9.18 %. Twenty-eight honey samples obtained from local markets were analyzed using our optimized method, and lincomycin was detected in one sample.

Graphical CoP for photocatalysis : Sphericalmesoporous SBA-15-supported CoP nanoparticlecatalysts tuning the highly efficient photocatalytic CO-and H 2 -generating pathways with product selectivity of up to 76.3 %and 99.9 % through switching solvent, respectively, were in situ fabricated by CoP embedded on the surface and interior of the porous s-SBA-15. The highly active spherical hybrid catalysts with diameters of 3–8 μm for robust selective CO 2 photoreduction and hydrogen production by switching solvent, CoP/(i)s-SBA-15 and CoP/(o)s-SBA-15, were in situ synthesized for the first time by incorporating CoP nanoparticles on the interior and outside of the spherical mesoporous Santa Barbara Amorphous (s-SBA)-type material s-SBA-15. CoP/(i)s-SBA-15 has a larger pore diameter of ∼9.5 nm, relative to ∼5.7 nm of CoP/(o)s-SBA-15, and a calculated Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of ∼214 m 2 g −1 compared with ∼336 m 2 g −1 for the latter. In comparison with bare CoP, the composites exhibited excellent catalytic CO- and H 2 -generating performance with product selectivity of up to 76.3 % and 99.9 % through switching solvents containing Ru-based photosensitizer under ambient conditions, respectively. The influences of various solvents and electron donors, as well as the amounts of H 2 O, and catalyst on reaction kinetics for CO 2 reduction and H 2 production, and intrinsic properties of both catalysts were investigated and compared.

To remove the bulky aqueous organic dye e.g. methyl blue (MB) from water, ordered mesoporous silica SBA-15 has been functionalized with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) via amide linkage. The surface physical and chemical properties of the surface of the resulted β-CD-functionalized adsorbents (abbrev. SBA15-A-CD) were characterized systematically. The results indicate that the channels of SBA-15 were uniformly modified with amine groups and were further β-CD-terminated via amide linkages, without ruining its ordered mesoporous structure. The effects of contact time, pH, ionic strength, temperature and salt on the adsorption performance were explored. SBA15-A-CD showed maximum adsorption capacity for MB up to 1791 mg·g −1 combined with excellent recyclability. Besides, the adsorption behavior of MB onto SBA15-A-CD has been investigated by DFT calculation and two-dimensional NMR. Specifically, the enhanced adsorption capacity for MB stems from the tailored host–guest interaction between β-CD cavity and aromatic moiety of MB in combination with the electrostatic attraction between amine groups and sulfonated group of MB. These findings offer good opportunities for improving the ability of mesoporous silica in adsorption of bulky anion dyes in wastewater.

All-inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are attracting considerable attention due to their promising thermal stability, but their inferior power-conversion efficiencies (PCE) hinder their realistic application. Here, we propose an approach through surface modification based on methyl ammonium halide (MAX) for inorganic CsPbI2Br solar cells processed at a low temperature. The combined benefits of the introduced MAX modifier enable the boosting of the power conversion efficiency to 14.8% with an impressive FF of 82.2% in CsPbI2Br PSCs. Our experimental analyses coupled with optical modeling indicate that the incorporated MAX leads to an effective passivation of the surface traps originating from Pb2+ and I− ions in CsPbI2Br and simultaneously mediates the crystallization of CsPbI2Br with slightly enlarged grains and reduced numbers of structural defects and pinhole. As a result, the interfacial trap-assisted recombination is suppressed and the charge extraction is promoted. Mechanistically, we show that in the presence of MAX, the deep-level traps in the perovskites are passivated, leaving the energy of the trapping centers to become shallower. In this situation, the negative impacts of the traps on carrier transport and recombination are mitigated.

The alkali metal (M = Na, K, Rb, and Cs)-modified C-FDU-15 (M-C-FDU-15( x ); x was the M/C-FDU-15 M ratio, and equal to 0.01–0.03) samples were prepared through an in situ process, and characterized by means of the TG, XRD, TEM, EDS, N 2 adsorption–desorption, O 2 -TPD, and CO 2 -TPD techniques. The (NO + O 2 ) adsorption mechanism was investigated using the (NO + O 2 )-TPD and DRIFTS techniques. The results show that the sequence of (NO + O 2 ) adsorption performance was Na-C-FDU-15(0.01) (104.1 mg/g) > K-C-FDU-15(0.01) (92.4 mg/g) > C-FDU-15 (76.2 mg/g) > Rb-C-FDU-15(0.01) (65.1 mg/g) > Cs-C-FDU-15(0.01) (62.3 mg/g). The alkali metal was uniformly distributed in C-FDU-15 and its doping enhanced the amount of the basic sites in the sample. Moreover, the optimal Na/C-FDU-15 M ratio was 0.02. (NO + O 2 ) were chemically adsorbed mainly in the forms of nitrite (NO 2 − ) and nitrate (NO 3 − ) on M-C-FDU-15( x ). A more amount of NO was converted to nitrate than to nitrite. There were three key factors of enhancing the (NO + O 2 ) adsorption capacity of C-FDU-15 due to alkali metal doping: the first factor was the increasing of surface area and pore volume of the sample, the second one was the enhancement in amount of the active sites in the sample, and the third one was the smaller alkali metal ionic radius in the sample.

The isobaric vapour–liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for the binary system of cyclohexanol + cyclohexylbenzene were determined at (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25) kPa with a dynamic recirculating apparatus and the temperature ranged from 358.10 K to 456.43 K, and the thermodynamic consistency of the experimental data was checked by the Herington area method and Van Ness method. Afterwards, the experimental data was correlated with NRTL, Wilson and UNIQUAC model, and the corresponding interaction of thermodynamic models of the binary system parameters were obtained through the Aspen software. The results indicated that all three models represent the experimental values quite well, while the NRTL model provided a slightly better result than Wilson model and UNIQUAC model. The maximum root mean square deviation of the temperature and vapour phase mole fraction for the NRTL model was less than 0.4 K and 0.004, respectively.

An efficient hybrid mesoporous heterogeneous catalyst system was synthesized via covalently grafting tungsten chelate complex W- N , N ( N , N = (3-triethoxysilylpropyl) [3-(2-pyridyl)-1-pyrazolyl] acetamide, N,N -chelating ligand) in organic moieties (diphenyldichlorosilane, DPHS)-functionalized mesoporous silica SBA-15 or pure SBA-15. Characterization of synthesized materials via N 2 sorption, XRD, TEM, UV–Vis DRS, 29 Si MAS NMR, element analysis, and FT-IR indicated that W- N , N was successfully anchored and highly dispersed in the mesochannels of SBA-15 and the mesostructure of SBA-15 was maintained during the grafting course. The synthesized hybrid catalysts were highly active and authentically heterogeneous in triphasic oxidation reaction of cyclopentene (CPE) with H 2 O 2 . W, N - N immobilized on functionalized SBA-15 with DPHS moieties (W- N , N -DPHS-SBA-15) showed better catalytic properties (activity and stability) than its unmodified counterpart W- N , N -SBA-15 catalyst. Besides, possible catalytic reaction route for CPE oxidation with H 2 O 2 over W- N , N -DPHS-SBA-15 catalyst was proposed. The amphiphilic mesochannels of W- N , N -DPHS-SBA-15 provided suitable accommodation for both hydrophilic H 2 O 2 and hydrophobic CPE molecules and acted as nanoreactors for CPE/H 2 O 2 /solid triphase reaction.

The mesoporous SBA-15 has long been used as an adsorbent for the removal of toxic metal ions. Achieving secondary utilize of spent adsorbent is undoubtedly an advisible option for environmental protection and recycling economy. In the present study, phosphoric acid-modified SBA-15 (P-SBA-15) was found to be an available adsorbent, and the composites (Cr3+/P-SBA-15) formed after adsorption of Cr3+ ions have the ability to efficiently catalyze the conversion of xylose and xylan into furfural. The physicochemical properties of the Cr3+/P-SBA-15 composites were characterized, and the effects of various reaction parameters on their catalytic performance were also investigated. Among the Cr3+/P-SBA-15 composites with different Cr3+ contents, the (0.25)Cr3+/P-SBA-15 composite not only achieved excellent 91% and 58% furfural yields from xylose and xylan, but also had almost constant catalytic performance after five cycles. The findings herein provided a reference for achieving high yields of furfural and reuse of spent adsorbents.

P,P-bis (2-oxooxazolidin-3-yl)-N-(3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl)phosphinic amide (APTES-BOP)-modified SBA-15 (SBA-15-BOP) was prepared by a post-synthesis grafting method for the removal of anionic azo dyes from aqueous solutions. The properties of the prepared adsorbent were characterized by PXRD, FT-IR, SEM, TEM, nitrogen sorption, and elemental analysis. Adsorption equilibrium and adsorption kinetic studies demonstrated that the experimental data fitted well with the Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second-order model. According to Langmuir fitting, SBA-15-BOP showed high adsorption capacity for CR and RR2 dyes, with the maximum adsorption capacities of 518.1 mg g−1 and 253.8 mg g−1, respectively. The thermodynamic study indicated that the adsorption processes of CR and RR2 dyes on SBA-15-BOP were spontaneous and exothermal. The prepared SBA-15-BOP can be a promising adsorbent for the removal of anionic dyes from aqueous solutions.

Decreasing Pd usage whilst maintaining a superior performance is promising, but remains a challenge in the catalytic field. Herein, we have demonstrated the highly efficient promotion of Mo2N with a reduced amount of Pd for the liquid-phase hydrogenation reaction. The Mo2N (2–3 nm) was uniformly anchored onto mesoporous SBA-15 by using PMo12 as the Mo source. The small size and good dispersion of Mo2N is favourable for allowing their effective contact with post-loading Pd. This good contact is conducive to developing a synergistic catalyst, which was verified by studying the liquid-phase hydrogenation of p-nitrophenol (PNP) to p-aminophenol (PAP) with NaBH4 as the H source. The conversion ability of PNP to PAP on 1 wt% Pd–Mo2N/SBA-15 was vastly superior to 1 wt% Pd/SBA-15 and even better than 20 wt% Pd/SBA-15. The low-Pd, highly efficient catalysis is ascribed to the transfer of the electrons from Mo2N to Pd for the easy activation of H. The synergy can be affected by the type of support used. SBA-15 is superior to SiO2 and the other supports, which could be related to the large surface area and the plentiful number of pores on SBA-15, which is favourable to the dispersion of Pd and Mo2N, and the transfer/diffusion of the reactants. In particular, a highly efficient catalyst can be achieved at an even more reduced Pd loading (0.05 wt%). The current method describes the design of a highly efficient catalyst for the hydrogenation reaction using low amounts of noble metals.

GaN-functionalized rare earth (Eu 3+ and Tb 3+ ) organic/inorganic mesoporous nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized (designated as RE(L SBA-15) 3 (L GaN); RE = Eu, Tb; L = TAA Si, BTA Si). The organosilane precursor materials (L SBA-15) are synthesized by co-condensation of tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and the functionalized β-diketones (TAA Si and BTA Si) in the presence of Pluronic P123 surfactant as a template. The modified β-diketones ligands are also used to covalently bond with surface-modified GaN and formed another precursor L GaN. Both of the precursors can coordinate with rare earth ions to synthesize the final mesoporous materials via a sol–gel process. FTIR, TEM, XRD, and nitrogen (N 2 ) adsorption/desorption measurements are employed to characterize the mesostructure of RE(L SBA-15) 3 (L GaN). The luminescence properties and thermogravimetric analysis of all the prepared materials are characterized in detail, and the results reveal that a series of uniformed mesopore structure hybrid materials has been achieved. The mesoporous material Eu(BTA Si SBA-15) 3 (BTA Si GaN) has better luminescence intensity, higher quantum efficiency, and longer lifetime than Eu(TAA Si SBA-15) 3 (TAA Si GaN). While the nanocomposite Tb(TAA Si SBA-15) 3 (TAA Si GaN) revealed the strongest characteristic emission of Tb 3+ ions than Tb(BTA Si SBA-15) 3 (BTA Si GaN), the excellent luminescent properties and thermal stability enable the hybrid mesoporous material to have potential applications in optical field.

SBA-15 functionalized with N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylene-diamine (TPED) was synthesized and used for the colorimetric detection of Cu2+ and removal of heavy metal ions in aqueous solutions. Compared to free SBA-15, the adsorption ability of diamine-functionalized SBA-15 (depicted as SBA-TPED) increased remarkably, the maximum adsorption capacity of SBA-TPED for Cu2+, Pb2+ and Zn2+ was 27.22, 96.43 and 12.16 mg g−1, respectively. Furthermore, SBA-TPED exhibits high selectivity for Cu2+ with the relative selectivity coefficient of SBA-TPED for Cu2+/Pb2+ being over 10 and for Cu2+/Zn2+ being over 60. The naked-eye detection limit of SBA-TPED for Cu2+ is 0.95 ppm, and the determination of Cu2+ in real water samples also displays satisfactory results. Moreover, SBA-TPED possesses fast kinetics for removing Cu2+ with a saturation time of less than 30 min, and can be regenerated by simple acid treatment.
