In recent years, all-inorganic cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr3) perovskites have garnered considerable attention for their prospective applications in green photonics and optoelectronic devices. However, the development of efficient and economical methods to obtain high-quality micron-sized single-crystalline CsPbBr3microplatelets (MPs) has become a challenge. Here, we report the synthesis of CsPbBr3MPs on Si/SiO2substrate by optimizing the ultrafast antisolvent method (FAS). This technique is able to produce well-dispersed, uniformly sized, and morphologically regular tetragonal phase single crystals, which can give strong green emission at room temperature, with excellent stability and excitonic character. Moreover, the crystals demonstrated lasing with a whispering gallery mode with a low threshold. These results suggest that the single-crystalline CsPbBr3MPs synthesized by this method are of high optical quality, holding vast potential for future applications in photonic devices. Keywords:perovskites;fast growth;microstructures;lasing;photonics

Doping metal ions into lead halide perovskite nanocrystals is one of the most efficient strategies to control their photoelectric properties. Here, we develop a simple and low-cost route to synthesize the high-quality alkaline-earth metal ion (AE2+)-doped CsPbBr3 nanocrystals at room temperature. The almost 100% promoted photoluminescence quantum yield behavior of AE2+-doped CsPbBr3 nanocrystals is demonstrated by an ultrafast dynamics study and theoretical calculations on the dopant defect formation energies and electronic properties. The AE2+ dopants can promote the radiation recombination of carriers by essentially reducing the carriers trapped into intraband and interband defect states and promote the intraband coupling. Furthermore, Br– and Pb2+ vacancies can be eliminated to enhance the short-range order of the CsPbBr3 lattice and enrich the conduction band edge states, leading to the photoluminescence enhancement of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals. Our studies provide new insights into the mechanism of AE2+-doped effects and present guiding strategies for improving the optical performance of doped perovskite nanocrystals.

Construction of S-scheme heterojunctions has been regarded as an appealing strategy to explore efficient photocatalysts for artificial photosynthesis. Herein, a unique 0D/1D S-scheme heterojunction of CsPbBr 3 /AgBr (CPB/AgBr) was developed by assembling CsPbBr 3 nanocrystals (NCs) onto AgBr nanorods. The effective S-scheme electron transfer between CsPbBr 3 and AgBr boosted charge separation while also maintained the strongly reductive electrons for CO 2 reduction, as proved by electron spin resonance (ESR), steady state photoluminescence (PL), time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL), etc. As a consequence, The CPB/AgBr heterojunction achieved remarkable photocatalytic performance in CO 2 reduction, with a high electron consumption rate (R electron ) of 141.4 μmol g −1 h −1 , which was 3.0 times that of pristine CsPbBr 3 and 1.65 times that of AgBr, respectively. The current work presents a novel lead halide perovskite (PVK) based S-scheme heterojunction, which is expected to provide some insights into the development of new efficient photocatalysts based on PVKs for solar fuel applications.

Metal halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) attract much attention for light-emitting applications due to their exceptional optical properties. More recently, perovskite NCs have begun to be considered a promising material for nonlinear optical applications. Numerous strategies have recently been developed to improve the properties of metal halide perovskite NCs. Among them, B-site doping is one of the most promising ways to enhance their brightness and stability. However, there is a lack of study of the influence of B-site doping on the nonlinear optical properties of inorganic perovskite NCs. Here, we demonstrate that Cd2+doping simultaneously improves both the linear (higher photoluminescence quantum yield, larger exciton binding energy, reduced trap states density, and faster radiative recombination) and nonlinear (higher two- and three-photon absorption cross-sections) optical properties of CsPbBr3NCs. Cd2+doping results in a two-photon absorption cross-section, reaching 2.6 × 106Goeppert-Mayer (GM), which is among the highest reported for CsPbBr3NCs.Keywords:perovskite;nanocrystal;doping;nonlinear optical properties;photoluminescence;two-photon absorption

Halide lead perovskites have shown great development in recent years for ionizing radiation detection. However, the bias-induced interfacial electrochemical reaction between the perovskite and electrode severely deteriorates detector performance. We report that BCP strongly interacts with Al and constructs a stable Al–BCP chelating interface, resulting in the suppression of a detrimental electrochemical reaction. The fabricated Au/Al/BCP/C60/CsPbBr3/Au detector shows a low dark current of 3 nA with a stable baseline at an extremely high bias of 100 V (∼100 V mm–1). The superior high-bias stability enables a high sensitivity of 7.3 × 104 μC Gyair–1 cm–2 at 100 V. Meanwhile, a low detection limit of 15 nGyair s–1 at 40 V is achieved due to the reduced noise. The outstanding performance of our device exceeds that of most advanced detectors based on CsPbBr3 single crystals. Besides, X-ray imaging with 1 mm spatial resolution is well demonstrated at a low dose rate of 200 nGyair s–1. The interfacial chelating strategy overcomes the technical limitation of bias-induced instability of perovskite radiation detectors and can be anticipated to operate under an extremely high electrical field.

Nowadays, 2D inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites (IHPs) based photodetectors (PDs) have shown great potential due to the excellent optoelectronic properties. However, most of them only focus on improving carrier transmission and not on synergistic increase in light absorption efficiency or vice versa, limiting the total number of photon-generated carriers. Here, an effective and general strategy is demonstrated, combining the synergy of plasmonic enhancement of light absorption and hot-electron effect. The responsivity and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of this planar PD improves obviously, which is more than 20-fold of the pristine devices. Furthermore, a wide linear dynamic range (LDR) of 120 dB is realized, and both response speed and operating frequency are simultaneously improved. The results present the potential use of synergistic effect for PDs, and provide a promising strategy for improving performance of perovskite optoelectronic devices.

The blue-emitting CsPbBr 3 quantum dots (QDs) have currently received widespread attention due to high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs), but their instability mainly caused by self-aggregation or environmental erosion (i.e. moisture and oxygen) should be solved to gain more progress in further application. This paper presented a feasible approach to high-quality blue-emitting CsPbBr 3 QDs-polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) films, in which PMMA provided a solid framework to protect CsPbBr 3 QDs by the chelation between C O and Pb 2+ ions, thus resulting in the stability of CsPbBr 3 QDs. The CsPbBr 3 QDs-PMMA films exhibited remarkable properties including water resistance, flexibility, deep-blue emission (465 nm), and comparatively high PLQY (45%). The blue LED fabricated by the films displayed a CIE coordinate (0.14, 0.10), which was corresponding to the standard blue CIE coordinate (0.14, 0.08) according to National Television System Committee (NTSC).

All-inorganic perovskite quantum dots (QDs) have emerged as a new category of low-cost semiconducting luminescent materials for optoelectronic applications. However, their poor stability has become the main challenge that impedes their potential applications. Herein, Ni-doped CsPbBr 3 QDs with lead phosphate (Pb 3 (PO 4 ) 2 ) shell through surface sacrificial coating (c-Ni-CsPbBr 3 ) have been developed based on a modified thermal injection approach. The synergistic effect of Ni doping and Pb 3 (PO 4 ) 2 coating effectively improves the stability and optical performances of CsPbBr 3 QDs, including photoluminescence (PL) intensity, the average lifetime, and PL quantum yield (QY). Thus, the c-Ni-CsPbBr 3 QDs demonstrate the full width at half maxima (FWHM) and PLQY being 18.42 nm and 90.77%, respectively. The PL intensity of c-Ni-CsPbBr 3 can be maintained at 81% of its original value after being heated at 100 °C for 1 h. No phase transformation can be observed after being stored under ambient conditions (25 °C, 60% relative humidity (RH)) for 21 days. In addition, by combining green c-Ni-CsPbBr 3 QDs, red CdSe-based QDs and the blue GaN chip, a QD enhancement film (QDEF) is fabricated to form a liquid crystal display (LCD) backlit with a wide color gamut covering cover 121% of the National Television System Committee (NTSC) standard.

Due to their promising applications in foldable displays, optical communication equipment and environmental monitoring systems, flexible and broadband optoelectronic devices have gained extensive attention in recent years. Here, a flexible and broadband photodetector based on CsPbBr 3 /PbSe quantum dot (QD) heterostructures is firstly presented. The integrated QD heterostructures possess consecutive detection range from ultraviolet (UV) to long-wavelength infrared (LW-IR) regions with efficient light absorption and chemical stability, in comparison with the pristine PbSe QDs. Systematic material characterizations reveal the improved exciton dissociation, carrier transport and carrier lifetime of the QD heterostructures. Flexible photodetector Ag/CsPbBr 3 /PbSe/Ag demonstrate a high responsivity of 7.17 A/W with a specific detectivity of 8.97 × 10 12 Jones under 25 μW/cm 2 365 nm illumination at 5 V. Furthermore, it could maintain 91.2 % (or 94.9 %) of its initial performance even after bending for thousands of times (or exposing in ambient air for 4 weeks). More importantly, its response time is shortened more than three orders of magnitude as that of pristine PbSe QDs-based photodetectors. Therefore, it provides a feasible and promising method for the next-generation high-performance broadband photodetectors via constructing heterostructures of various QDs.

Photocatalytic CO 2 conversion to valuable fossil fuels has been demonstrated to be a promising approach to reduce emissions of CO 2 and produce renewable energy, which primarily depends on developing the high efficiency of charge separation photocatalysts. Herein, CsPbBr 3 , one typical kind of all-inorganic perovskite nanocrystal, is immobilized on monolayer MoS 2 nanosheets to construct a new and ideal CsPbBr 3 /MoS 2 photocatalyst in the application of CO 2 photoreduction. In comparison with pure CsPbBr 3 , CsPbBr 3 /MoS 2 heterostructures possessed a specific electric field to more efficiently separate charges and generated more active sites for facilitating CO 2 activation, resulting in 3.0 and 2.4 times yields for CO 2 photoreduction to CH 4 and CO, respectively. Detailed characterization methods such as photoluminescence, surface photovoltage spectroscopy and theory calculations indicate the vivid illustrations of photogenerated carries separation which contributes to improving photocatalytic CO 2 conversion efficiency. The present investigation is anticipated to provide a new way for fabricating highly efficient perovskite-based photocatalyst in solar-energy-driven applications.

The toxicity and stability of all-inorganic perovskite quantum dots are major challenge to be addressed in its commercialization process. Here, the toxicity of lead is reduced while improving the optical properties of quantum dots via replacing Pb 2+ ions in CsPbBr 3 perovskites quantum dots with low-toxicity and cost-effectiveness Cu 2+ cations. The PL emission and absorption peaks of quantum dots appear blue shift due to lattice shrinkage caused by copper ion doping. At the same time, we also observed that with the increase of Cu 2+ doping concentration, the fluorescence lifetime of quantum dots decreased from 40.66 ns to 8.23 ns. Next, the slim CsPbBr 3 :Cu@SiO 2 core-shell QDs were synthesized via a simply one-step synthesis method. Compared with the original CsPbBr 3 :Cu QDs, the stability of the quantum dots after coated has been significantly improved. Benefiting from this effective cladding strategy, these CsPbBr 3 :Cu@SiO 2 can be well used for manufacturing high-performance perovskite LEDs.

All-inorganic perovskite CsPbBr3 has attracted intense attentions due to its inspiring optoelectronic properties and excellent stability. Growing large-size single crystals with high quality is vital both for the intrinsic property investigation and the high-performance device fabrication. Here, large-size CsPbBr3 single crystals (ϕ 30 mm × 100 mm) were grown by the modified Bridgman method. The surface morphologies of the as-grown CsPbBr3 single-crystal wafers were characterized by SEM, and inclusions with size of 1–2 μm were observed in the first-time grown crystal (labeled as CPB-1). By adopting a slower growth rate (0.2 mm/h) and cooling rate (5 °C/h) than that of CPB-1, the inclusions were eliminated in subsequent growth (labeled as CPB-2). The hole mobility-lifetime products were measured to be 3.92 × 10–3 and 1.46 × 10–2 cm2·V–1 for CPB-1 and CPB-2, respectively. The carrier mobility of CPB-2 was enhanced 1 order of magnitude from 10.1 ± 0.3 cm2·V–1·s–1 (CPB-1) to 101.3 ± 4.2 cm2·V–1·s–1 due to the elimination of inclusions. In addition, CPB-2 exhibited excellent α particles detection ability with the optimal energy resolution of 15.1% at −60 V bias. We provide an effective way to enhance the optoelectronic properties and device performance of melt-grown CsPbBr3 single crystal by preventing the formation of the inclusions.
