A novel triaminopyridine fluorescent probe based on AIE effect with high selectivity under solvent shielding effect

Xiaoyong Tian,Yu Zhang,Kezhen Zhang,Nan Wang,Huaping Wang,Hongyao Xu,Shanyi Guang

A new fluorescent probe TPA-DAP with aggregation-induced emission ( AIE ) characteristic based on 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid was synthesized for the detection of paramagnetic ions (Cu 2+ , Co 2+ , Ni 2+ ). In the DMF/PBS (5:95, v/v, pH = 7.40) solvent mixture, the fluorescence intensity exhibited a notable enhancement of over 3-fold when compared to DMF alone. Concurrently, fluorescence quenching phenomena were observed in the presence of Cu 2+ , Co 2+ , and Ni 2+ , with corresponding detection limits measured at 56.4 nM, 22.4 nM, and 26.5 nM, respectively. These detection limits were found to be lower than the prescribed thresholds for Cu 2+ in Class I groundwater and Co 2+ , Ni 2+ in Class III groundwater, multi-functional detection was possible. The coordination constants were 9.07 × 10 5 , 3.63 × 10 5 and 5.69 × 10 5 , respectively. However, in the DMSO system, the probe will be highly selective in the presence of solvent shielding effects. The probe showed more than 10-fold enhancement of fluorescence intensity in DMSO/Tris-HCl (5:95, v/v, pH = 7.00) compared to DMSO and specific detection of Cu 2+ with a detection limit of 36.7 nM and a coordination constant of 4.35 × 10 5 , and was cyclically detectable in the presence of EDTA. TPA-DAP was applied for the detection of Cu 2+ in actual water samples and showed good biocompatibility and recyclability, making it suitable for water testing and test paper experiments, and also for a wide range of applications in the identification of Cu 2+ , Co 2+ , Ni 2+ and other bioassays in cells and zebrafish. Solvents could be selected according to actual test requirements.

Study on thermal decomposition, combustion, and micro-explosion energy release characteristic of DAP-4/RDX composite

Hua Fang,Peng-fei Zhu,Jin-xiang Yang,Xiao-le Sun,Xiong Cao,Xue-yong Guo

The DAP-4/RDX mixture was prepared by solvent suspension method. The thermal decomposition, combustion and micro-explosion experiments were carried out. The results showed that the thermal decomposition peak temperature of DAP-4/RDX was lower than that of DAP-4. RDX reduces the activation energy required for the thermal decomposition of DAP-4, reduces the maximum flame temperature but prolongs the combustion duration. The combustion peak pressure and pressurization rate of DAP-4/RDX samples are lower than those of DAP-4, and the maximum is reduced from 415.65 kPa and 68.95 kPa·ms -1 to 322.58 kPa and 23.07 kPa·ms -1 . The intensity of laser-loaded shock wave is increased after the introduction of RDX under the same conditions. The detonation heat and detonation velocity of DAP-4/RDX measured by micro-explosion are higher than those of DAP-4, the increased intensity of laser-loaded shock wave is consistent with the improved detonation heat and velocity, jointly reflecting the enhanced detonation performance of RDX to DAP-4/RDX.

Visible-light induced controlled radical polymerization of methacrylates with Cu(dap)2Cl as a photoredox catalyst

Wenchao Ma,Dong Chen,Yuhong Ma,Li Wang,Changwen Zhao,Wantai Yang

With ethyl-α-bromophenylacetate (EBPA) as an initiator and Cu(dap)2Cl (dap = 2,9-bis(p-anisyl)-1,10-phenanthroline) as a photoredox catalyst, controlled radical polymerizations of poly(ethylene glycol)methyl ether methacrylate (PEGMA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) are demonstrated under LED light lamp irradiation (4500 μW cm−2@420 nm). The catalysis cycles proceed in the presence of N,N-dimethylaniline (DMA) or tris[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]amine (Me6TREN), which could serve as reductants to regenerate a Cu(I) complex from the oxidized Cu(II) complex. In addition, Me6TREN plays another important role as an efficient ligand for the copper-based photopolymerization of methacrylate monomers. Good linear evolution of molecular weight (Mn) with monomer conversion is observed under the optimized conditions. Specifically, with [PEGMA] : [EBPA] : [Cu(dap)2Cl] : [Me6TREN] = 31 : 1 : 0.015 : (0.15–0.45), poly(PEGMA) (PPEGMA) with polydispersity indexes (PDI) as low as 1.15 are obtained. To further verify the living nature of this system, block copolymers of PPEGMA-b-PMMA with high molecular weights and narrow molecular weight distributions (Mn,GPC = 59 200 g mol−1, PDI = 1.28 and Mn,GPC = 93 700 g mol−1, PDI = 1.44, respectively) are prepared using PPEGMA-Br (Mn,GPC = 11 600 g mol−1; PDI = 1.13) as a macroinitiator. The polymers produced with Cu(dap)2Cl/Me6TREN as a catalyst and the PMMA obtained with Cu(dap)2Cl/DMA as a catalyst are colorless which is different from the heterogeneously catalyzed ATRP for its notorious Cu metal residue.

The effects of TiH2 on the thermal decomposition performances of ammonium perchlorate-based molecular perovskite (DAP-4)

Hua Fang,Xueyong Guo,Liping Shi,Kehua Han,Jianxin Nie,Shuji Wang,Chengcheng Wu,Peng Deng

In order to promote the development of molecular perovskite energetic materials, studying thermal decomposition performances of AP-based molecular perovskite energetic materials ((H2dabco)[NH4(ClO4)3], DAP-4) catalyzed by metal hydrogen storage fuel is significant. In this study, the morphology, structure and thermal decomposition characteristics of TiH2, DAP-4 and DAP-4/TiH2 composite materials were characterized and investigated. The experimental results showed that the DAP-4 peak exothermic temperature at different heating rates both showed a decreasing trend with TiH2 content increased. With 20 wt% TiH2 added, the DAP-4 peak exothermic temperature decreased from 394.3 ℃ to 352.8 ℃ (10 ℃/min heating rate), and the apparent activation energy (Ea) also decreased from 201.5 KJ/mol to 182.3 KJ/mol. A possible catalytic thermal decomposition mechanism of perovskite catalyzed by TiH2 was proposed. This work is helpful to further understand the thermal decomposition characteristics of molecular perovskite energetic materials in the presence of metal hydrides.

Effect of Cobalt-doped Carbon Nanotube Composites (Co/CNTs) on the Properties of High-Energetic Oxidizer DAP-4

Ying Kang,Kaiyuan Sun,Haiting Liu,Jiani Dong,Guoliang Liu,Lianqiang Li,Haixia Zhao,Erhai An,Xiong Cao

(H 2 dabco) [NH 4 (ClO 4 ) 3 ] (DAP-4) is a multi-ionic energetic material with strong oxidizing and detonation capabilities, but its high decomposition temperature (380 °C) limits its practical use. Cobalt-doped carbon nanotube composites (Co/CNTs) with different Co loadings (0.05, 0.5, 5 mmol) were hydrothermally prepared. Their morphologies and structures were characterized, and the influence of Co/CNTs-(1-3) on the thermolysis process and combustion performance of DAP-4 was comprehensively examined. Among them, Co/CNTs-2 exhibited the strongest catalytic activity in terms of DAP-4′s thermal decomposition and combustion. It decreased the activation energy by 57.1 kJ/mol and the decomposition temperature by 32.2 °C, respectively. Furthermore, the combustion heat of DAP-4/Co/CNTs-2 was 14947 kJ/kg, which was significantly more than that of DAP-4. The addition of Co/CNTs increased the flame area and intensity of DAP-4 while shortening the flame duration and accelerating the energy release rate.

Enhanced thermal decomposition and combustion performance of energetic molecular perovskite DAP-4 catalyzed by Fe-doped carbon composites

Yi-ming Wang,Hai-long Huang,Yun-long Zhang,Yue-wen Wang,Shao-li Chen

Energetic molecular perovskite (H 2 dabco)[NH 4 (ClO4) 3 ] (DAP-4) had attracted much attention due to their strong oxidizing ability and high energy characteristics. However, the high thermal decomposition temperature would affect their potential application in the fields of propellants. In this work, Fe-doped carbon (Fe-Carbon) composites were prepared by a simple and facile high-temperature carbonization method with the iron salt-contained biomass flour materials as carbonized porous precursor. And the influence of Fe-Carbon composites on catalytic thermal decomposition and combustion on DAP-4 was studied. The results showed that porous Fe-Carbon composites with the low contents of Fe x O y showed the intrinsic catalyzed decomposition properties towards DAP-4. With the adding of 5wt% Fe-Carbon-3, the thermal decomposition temperature of DAP-4 had reduced by 25 °C from 374 °C (DAP-4) to 349 °C (DAP-4/Fe-Carbon-3). The apparent activation energy of thermal decomposition of DAP-4 had reduced by 16.25 kJ·mol -1 with the appearance of Fe-Carbon-2. DAP-4/Fe-Carbon-3 had a shorter combustion process (∼80 s) than DAP-4 (∼110 s). The maximum combustion temperature and combustion heat had increased. The catalysis thermal decomposition and combustion mechanism of DAP-4 with Fe-Carbon was provided. Fe x O y with high dispersion at the surface of carbon materials enhanced hydrogen transfer from ammonium and protonated H 2 dabco 2+ cations to perchlorate anions, which accelerated decomposition and combustion reaction of DAP-4. This work showed a novel understand of catalysis decomposition and combustion reaction of energetic molecular perovskite by metal-doped carbonization materials.

The Ignition and Combustion Performance of Nanothermite Al/Bi2O3 with Energetic Perovskite DAP-4 as High-Energy Additives

Long Guan,Lin Li,Xin Cheng,Kefei Lu,Hao Zhou,Binbin Zhang,Erhai An,Hua Fang,Peng Deng

Graphical Synergistic catalysis ignition and combustion reaction mechanism of nanothermite Al/Bi2O3 with DAP-4 as additives. Aluminium/bismuth trioxide (Al/Bi 2 O 3 ), as a class of important and interesting nanothermite, had received much attention in the field of energetic materials. However, enhancing the ignition and combustion performance of Al/Bi 2 O 3 is still a great challenge. In this work, energetic perovskite DAP-4 was used to design and fabricate the ternary composites Al/Bi 2 O 3 /DAP-4 with the different contents of DAP-4 additives. The micromorphology and structure of composites Al/Bi 2 O 3 /DAP-4 were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The ignition and combustion performances of composites Al/Bi 2 O 3 /DAP-4 were studied by electric heating ignition apparatus. The results showed that energetic perovskite DAP-4 was introduced to reduce the ignition energy of Al/Bi 2 O 3 and promote the combustion reaction of Al metal particles. With 10wt% DAP-4 added, Al/Bi 2 O 3 /DAP-4 sample showed a more durable combustion process for ∼270 ms. And with the contents of DAP-4 increased, the combustion time shortened and the burning intensity had improved. The intensity of flame combustion reaches the maximum when 30wt% DAP-4 is added. The main thermal decomposition gas products of Al/Bi 2 O 3 /DAP-4 composite are CO 2 , HCl, H 2 O, and so on. A synergistic catalysis ignition and combustion reaction mechanism of Al/Bi 2 O 3 with DAP-4 as additives was proposed. DAP-4 ignited by lower ignition energy could trigger nanothermite Al/Bi 2 O 3 . Bi 2 O 3 particles can reduce the thermal decomposition temperature of DAP-4, which accelerated the combustion reaction of nanothermite Al/Bi 2 O 3 with DAP-4 as additives. This work offered a new idea for design and application of nanothermite with high-performance catalysis additives.

Fast synthesis of MoO3-x and its catalytic effect on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate based molecular perovskite (DAP-4)

Xiaoxia Li,Shuaida Zhu,Qi Jia,Haixia Zhao,Yuqi Cao,Yuying Ma,Shuangqi Hu,Xiong Cao

In this work, it is shown that MoO3-x has a positive effect on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate based molecular perovskite (H2DABCO)[NH4(ClO4)3] (DAP-4). MoO3-x was prepared by heat treatment, and the morphology, structure, and thermal decomposition performance were characterized. The morphology and structure characterization results showed that MoO3-x was an irregular layered structure material and the Mo element was mainly in the +6 chemical valence state, with a small amount of Mo5+. Thermal analysis results showed that the thermal decomposition peak temperature of DAP-4 was effectively reduced from 394.4 °C to 353.7 °C, 321.4 °C, and 312.5 °C in the presence of 1%, 5%, and 10% MoO3-x, respectively. It is particularly worth noting that the maximum heat release rate of the DAP-4/10% MoO3-x mixture was increased by 4.9 times compared with pure DAP-4. Through the two classic thermal decomposition kinetic methods, Kissinger and Starink, the reliable kinetic parameters of DAP-4/MoO3-x were obtained. The increase of the reaction rate constant k indicated that the maximum thermal decomposition reaction rate of DAP-4 was effectively improved. This work provided a feasible technology for using MoO3-x as an effective catalyst to improve the thermal performance of DAP-4.

Narrowing the pore size distribution of a piperazine-based ultrathin polyamide film with the addition of 1,3-diamino-2-propanol (DAP)

Ruijun Zhang,Qianzhi Sun,Jiayu Tian,Bart Van der Bruggen,Junyong Zhu

Sharpening the pore size distribution is challenging but highly efficacious to boost the performance of polyamide (PA) membranes in nanofiltration (NF). Herein, a facile and applicable strategy for narrowing the pore size distribution of a piperazine (PIP)-based NF membrane is proposed by introducing 1,3-diamino-2-propanol (DAP) into the aqueous phase. The results show that the selective layer can be effectively remodeled via the incorporation of DAP. A thicker, rougher and more hydrophilic selective layer with a narrowed pore size distribution can be attained by adding 0.03 w/v% DAP to the 0.1 w/v% PIP solution, which exhibited a pure water permeance (PWP) of 20.7 L m −2  h −1 ·bar −1 and a MgSO 4 rejection up to 97.4 %. This transformation can be attributed to the stronger polarity and higher reactivity of DAP compared to PIP. During the IP process modified by DAP, the strong polarity of DAP could result in a slower and more homogeneous diffusion of PIP into the organic phase through hydrogen interaction to facilitate a uniform interfacial polymerization reaction. Meanwhile, the higher reactivity of DAP could remedy the probably produced defects. This work provides a straightforward route for the regulation of NF membrane structure and performance.

Copper-Doped Porous Carbon Derived from Biomass Substrate: A High-Efficient Catalyst for the Thermal Decomposition and Combustion Performance of DAP-4

Yiming Wang,Jinchao Qiao,Qiang Zhou,Zichen Yan,Liwei Zhang

To address the urgent demand for eco-friendly and low-cost catalysts to replace toxic heavy-metal additives in energetic materials, this work focuses on developing biomass-derived copper-doped porous carbon (CuPC) as a high-efficiency catalyst for the thermal decomposition and combustion of molecular perovskite energetic material (H2dabco)NH4(ClO4)3(DAP-4). Biomass carbonaceous material has garnered extensive attention in many fields, owing to the low cost, high utilization efficiency, and environment protection. Herein, the CuPC catalysts were rationally designed and fabricated via the high-temperature carbonization treatment of biomass carbonaceous material precursor. The catalytic effects of CuPC on the thermal decomposition and combustion characteristics of DAP-4 were systematically investigated. The results revealed that CuPC possessed inherent catalysis property on the decomposition and combustion reaction of DAP-4. CuxOynanoparticles were uniformly distributed on the surface of carbonized biomass substrates, endowing the catalysts with superior dispersibility. Thermal analysis results indicated that the addition of 5 wt% CuPC-3 reduced the thermal decomposition peak temperature from 378 °C of raw DAP-4 to 350 °C of DAP-4/CuPC-3. Moreover, the apparent activation energy of DAP-4 was notably decreased with the incorporation of CuPC catalysts. The combustion characterization results demonstrated that DAP-4 exhibited a more intense combustion process with the addition of CuPC, accompanied by elevated maximum combustion temperature and enhanced combustion heat. The catalytic mechanism of CuPC on the thermal decomposition and combustion of DAP-4 was further proposed. This work provides a targeted strategy for designing sustainable biomass-based catalysts to optimize the energy release performance of advanced molecular perovskite energetic materials.

Dual-Emission Reverse Change Ratio Photoluminescence Sensor Based on a Probe of Nitrogen-Doped Ti3C2 Quantum Dots@DAP to Detect H2O2 and Xanthine

Qiaoyun Lu,Jing Wang,Bingzhi Li,Chenyuan Weng,Xiaoyun Li,Wei Yang,Xiaoqiang Yan,Junli Hong,Wanying Zhu,Xuemin Zhou

Titanium carbide quantum dots (Ti3C2 QDs) derived from two-dimensional (2D) Ti3C2Tx (MXene) are the rising-star material recently. Herein, nitrogen-doped Ti3C2 QDs (N-Ti3C2 QDs) were synthesized via a solvothermal method. The obtained N-Ti3C2 QDs exhibited excitation-dependent photoluminescence, antiphotobleaching, and dispersion stability. Furthermore, by combining the N-Ti3C2 QDs and DAP (2,3-diaminophenazine, the oxidative product of o-phenylenediamine) as a composite nanoprobe (N-Ti3C2 QDs@DAP), we developed a dual-emission reverse change ratiometric sensor to quantitatively monitor H2O2 based on photoinduced electron-transfer effects, where N-Ti3C2 QDs acted as the donor and DAP as the acceptor. On the basis of the xanthine converting into H2O2 through the catalysis of xanthine oxidase, the N-Ti3C2 QDs@DAP nanoprobe was also exploited for xanthine sensing. As a result, the proposed assay was demonstrated to be highly sensitive for H2O2 and xanthine with detection limits of 0.57 and 0.34 μM, respectively. In a word, we have investigated the application of N-Ti3C2 QDs in H2O2 and xanthine sensing and opened a new and exciting avenue for the N-Ti3C2 QDs in biosensing.

Dual-mode colorimetric and fluorescent detection of BRCA1 based on a CRISPR-Cas12a system

Chengchen Tan,Xiaolong Yan,Xingchang Lu,Jianxiu Wang,Xinyao Yi

Breast cancer, as a malignant tumor with the highest incidence in the world, poses a great threat to human life and health. Early diagnosis of breast cancer may help enhancing the survival rate. In this work, a colorimetric and fluorescent dual-mode biosensor based on CRISPR-Cas12a system was constructed for the detection of breast cancer biomarker BRCA1. The intact G4 DNA could form DNAzyme in the assistance of K+ and hemin, catalyzed the oxidation of o-phenylenediamine (OPD) under the assistance of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), and generate the oxidation product 2,3-diaminophenazine (DAP) with obvious absorption and fluorescence peaks. The presence of the target BRCA1 can activate the trans-cleavage activity of CRISPR-Cas12a, cleaving the G4 DNA and inhibiting the catalytic oxidation of OPD. The target BRCA1 was quantitatively determined by detecting both the absorbance and fluorescence intensity of DAP. Compared with single signal analysis, dual-signal output mode provided more reliable detection results. The detection limits were calculated to be 0.615 nM for colorimetric method and 0.289 nM for fluorescence method. The dual-mode biosensor showed good selectivity for BRCA1 and can resist the interference of complex substrates, which has great potential in biomedical detection.
