A multifunctional stealth technology compatible with infrared and radar is one of the most feasible ways to improve the survival of military equipment under high-temperature conditions. However, it is difficult to effectively integrate multiple functions into one material owing to the contradictory stealth mechanisms of infrared and radar. Herein, the near-room-temperature integrated preparation of a hierarchical metastructure with high-temperature resistance, broadband microwave absorption, and infrared stealth is realized by combining topological optimization of metastructure and a papermaking method. The tailored metastructure exhibits an effective bandwidth and absorption peak of 3.1 GHz and −25.9 dB at 1,000°C. The excellent thermal insulation allows the metastructure to achieve infrared stealth, which can reduce the radiation temperature of an object from 1,200°C to 340°C. The new technology paves the way for the design and preparation of a radar-infrared bi-stealth metastructure applied to high temperature.

Dielectric-wedge LDH arrays de-stack MXene and reprogram conductive networks. • Ti-O-M-coupled 2D/2D interfaces link EM polarization with tribofilm durability. • At 5 wt%, the epoxy composite delivers −60.16 dB RL min and 7.44 GHz EAB. • Aircraft-model simulation cuts all-aspect RCS up to 70.35 dB with IR camouflage. • At 0.6 wt%, NCMLM cuts wear by 92.1% and boosts impact strength by 105.5%. In polymer composites designed for multimodal protection, electromagnetic dissipation, infrared-signature regulation, and mechano-tribological reliability are governed by interfacial structure and filler-network organization, yet are typically optimized independently under competing requirements. Here, a 2D/2D covalent heterointerface-reconstruction strategy integrates these functions within a unified interfacial architecture. Through alkali-induced coprecipitation, ternary NiCoMn-layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets are grown in situ on Ti₃C₂Tₓ MXene. The vertically oriented LDH arrays act as “dielectric wedges” to de-stack the MXene and regulate its conductive network, while Ti–O–M-mediated covalent coupling, multimetal coordination, and defect enrichment enhance polarization relaxation, filler–matrix coupling, and interfacial stress transfer. At a filler loading of 5 wt%, the optimized epoxy composite delivers an RL min of −60.16 dB at 4.40 mm and an effective absorption bandwidth of 7.44 GHz at 2.01 mm. Conformal aircraft-model simulations at 6.975 GHz under horizontally polarized incidence reveal contraction of the three-dimensional radar cross-section (RCS) envelope across all sampled aspect angles, with plane-wise peak reductions of 37.61–48.18 dB in the three orthogonal planes, a local maximum of 70.35 dB, and over 98.9% of the sampled angles suppressed by more than 10 dB. The composite also exhibits apparent infrared-signature suppression across a broad thermal-excitation range. At an ultralow loading of 0.6 wt%, the same reconstructed heterointerface promotes the in situ formation of a continuous protective tribofilm, reducing the friction coefficient to 0.4203 and the volumetric wear rate by 92.1%, while increasing the impact and flexural strengths to 41.09 kJ m −2 (+105.5%) and 133.07 MPa (+10.9%), respectively. This work establishes covalent heterointerface reconstruction as a cross-scale design framework that translates nanoscale interfacial regulation into platform-relevant radar–infrared stealth and mechano-tribological durability in low-filler polymer nanocomposites. Reduced graphene oxide (rGO) aerogels have attracted extensive attention due to their unique physical properties, but their poor mechanical properties and insufficient functionality hinder their further application. In this study, we propose a strategy for fiber-reinforced rGO aerogels for mechanical enhancement and multifunctional applications. We fabricated carbon fibers (CFs) modified with zirconia (ZrO 2 ) particles to enhance rGO aerogels. The resulting aerogels exhibit exceptional lightweight characteristics (8.62 mg cm −3 ) and high compressive deformation up to 90 % (320 kPa), and a low thermal conductivity of 25.3 mW m −1 K −1 . Simultaneously, the aerogel demonstrates excellent electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption performance, with a minimum reflection loss (RL min ) of −62.99 dB at 3.4 mm and an effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 8.19 GHz. The introduction of ZrO 2 achieves three ends with a single effort: it enhances mechanical performance, disrupts thermal conduction pathways within the aerogel framework while simultaneously optimizing impedance matching. This synergistic effect enables dual-band compatibility for radar-infrared stealth applications, demonstrating significant potential for aerospace applications.

Designing EMW absorbers that simultaneously achieve high-temperature stability and lightweight features is critical for harsh operating conditions. In this study, we employed electrospinning coupled with calcination to synthesize equimolar (Fe 0.2 Co 0.2 Ni 0.2 Cu 0.2 Mn 0.2 ) 3 O 4 high-entropy ceramic nanofibers (HECNF). Benefiting from the entropy-driven stabilization effect, the five constituent metal elements formed a single-phase spinel solid solution. By tailoring the calcination temperature from 600 to 900 °C, grain growth was induced to construct a unique lightweight porous fiber surface architecture. The high-entropy composition introduces severe lattice distortions and oxygen vacancies. When combined with the unique rough 1D fibrous morphology, these defects trigger a synergistic effect that notably amplifies interfacial polarization. Consequently, the as-prepared nanofibers exhibit superior microwave absorption performance, achieving a minimum reflection loss (RL min ) of -46.20 dB and an effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 5.14 GHz. Furthermore, CST simulations were conducted to verify that the material can significantly reduce the radar cross section (RCS) under practical conditions. This work provides a novel strategy for designing high-performance EMW absorbing materials for harsh environments via the synergistic regulation of micromorphology and high-entropy composition.

Distinguished by a unique three-dimensional (3D) network structure and commendable electrical conductivity, one-dimensional (1D) carbon nanofibers (CNF) exemplifies a pivotal class of microwave absorption materials. However, their effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) suffers from inadequacy on account of poor impedance matching. To conquer this drawback, a novel in situ dual-doping strategy was employed in this article. Incorporating boron (B) and low-valence-state molybdenum (Mo), this strategy is merged with electrospinning and high-temperature treatment, aimed to fabricate Mo and B co-doped carbon nanofibers (Mo-B/CNF) with superior microwave absorption performance. An array of characterization techniques were leveraged to delve into the microstructure and properties of the Mo-B/CNF. The analysis corroborated a uniform distribution of Mo and B elements within the carbon matrix, alongside the formation of Mo 2 N species. Outstanding microwave absorption was identified for the resulting Mo-B/CNF, accompanied by a minimum reflection loss of -57.7 dB at 10.3 GHz and an EAB of 6.05 GHz. As further demonstrated by radar cross-section simulations, the Mo-B/CNF is capable of attenuating electromagnetic scattering from metallic backplanes and large unmanned aerial vehicles, which highlights their promise in radar stealth applications. Following a structural optimization via 3D electromagnetic simulation software, the metamaterial fabricated from Mo-B/CNF attains an ultra-broad effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 32.1 GHz across the 2-40 GHz frequency range. This study delineates the electromagnetic wave absorption traits of Mo-B/CNF, and provides another insight for designing next-generation microwave absorption materials.

A high-quality Fe3GeTe2 single crystal with good electrical, magnetic, and electromagnetic wave absorption and shielding properties was prepared in a large quantity (10 g level) by solid-phase sintering and recrystallization method, which would promote its in-depth research and practical application. It has good room-temperature electrical properties with a mobility of 42 cm2/V·s, a sheet (bulk) carrier concentration of +1.64 × 1018 /cm2 (+3.28 × 1020 /cm3), and a conductivity of 2196.35 S/cm. Also, a Curie temperature of 238 K indicates the high magnetic transition temperature and a paramagnetic Curie temperature of 301 K shows the large ferromagnetic–paramagnetic transition zone induced by the residual short-range ferromagnetic domains. Particularly, Fe3GeTe2 is in a loosely packed state when used as a loss agent; the electromagnetic wave absorption with a reflection loss of −34.7 dB at 3.66 GHz under thin thickness was shown. Meanwhile, the absorption band can be effectively regulated by varying the thickness. Moreover, Fe3GeTe2 in a close-packed state exhibits terahertz shielding values of 75.1 and 103.2 dB at very thin thicknesses of 70 and 380 μm, and the average shielding value is higher than 47 dB, covering the entire bandwidth from 0.1 to 3.0 THz. Furthermore, by using Fe3GeTe2 as a patch, the wideband radar cross-section can be effectively reduced by up to 33 dBsm. Resultantly, Fe3GeTe2 will be a promising candidate in the electromagnetic protection field.

Carbon nanofibers (CNFs) exhibit inherent dielectric properties that enhance electromagnetic (EM) wave absorption, yet challenges exist in expanding their effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) and improving flexibility. Many studies fail to adequately consider how structural factors influence performance when combining CNFs with magnetic materials. To address these issues, a 1D carbon nanocomposite is developed by embedding magnetic oxide nanoparticles within CNFs using a simple electrospinning technique. This approach improves membrane flexibility by disrupting rigid alignment and introducing dynamic magnetic interactions, while also creating defect-rich interfaces that increase the amorphous content (61%) of the CNFsF composite, leading to improved EM wave absorption. The unique macro/mesoporous morphology provides internal interfaces and heterogeneous boundaries that effectively trap and dissipate EM waves. As a result, the flexible CNF composites demonstrate significant EM wave absorption performance, achieving a minimum reflection loss (RL min ) of −39.8 dB at 4.64 GHz and an abroad EAB of up to 7 GHz at only 2.5 mm thickness. Computer simulation technology (CST) simulations indicate a maximum radar cross-section reduction of 21.1 dB m 2 , highlighting the material's radar stealth capability. This research advances the development of high-performance materials and offers new strategies for enhancing absorption properties through composite engineering.

Inspired by the spider web predation mechanism, a novel MWCNT/Ni/BC (MNB) aerogel with infrared-radar dual stealth and signal transmission was successfully prepared. • Ni chains and MWCNT/BC aerogel form a cross-scale mechanical interlocking structure that optimizes impedance matching for promoting electromagnetic wave attenuation. • The fluffy 3D space structure combine details excellent mechanical resilience with a conductive MNB aerogel network, enabling outstanding infrared stealth and signal transmission performance. Multifunctional materials integrating infrared stealth, electromagnetic absorption (EMA), and sensing are critical for next-gen intelligent soldier systems, yet the inherent trade-off between sensing and dual stealth performance hinders their development. Inspired by spider web predation, this study fabricated multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) /Ni chain/bacterial cellulose (MNB) aerogels via magnetic induction and directional freezing. By tuning Ni chain content and pore structure, a new generation of electromagnetic protection material integrating infrared-radar stealth and sensing was developed to enhance individual combat survivability. The optimized MNB aerogel exhibits exceptional EMA and impedance matching: a minimum reflection loss of −69.73 dB at 2.49 mm, specific RL of −2182.19 dB·mm −1 , and an effective absorption bandwidth of 8.14 GHz, while >99% absorption even at 120 °C. Meanwhile, attributable to its low infrared emissivity and excellent thermal insulation, the MNB aerogel maintains stable infrared stealth performance, consistently achieving a temperature difference of 34 °C between the target surface and the hot stage. Furthermore, its elastic conductive network enables a fast piezoresistive sensing response, demonstrating significant potential for individual distress signal transmission in combat scenarios. This study presents a simple strategy for next-gen intelligent electromagnetic protection materials with broad potential in thermal management, aerospace, and health monitoring.

To meet the need for ultrathin high-temperature radar-stealth coatings with effective X-band absorption, a metasurface-regulated FeSiCr/CaO-B 2 O 3 -SiO 2 (FSC/CBS) composite coating was designed. FSC/CBS coatings with different FSC contents were fabricated by atmospheric plasma spraying to examine the effects of absorber loading on particle state, microstructure, electromagnetic parameters, and high-temperature absorption. Increasing FSC content raised the in-flight particle temperature and promoted FSC spreading and flattening, causing the absorbing phase to evolve from isolated particles to lamellar structures and locally connected conductive networks. These structural features enhanced interfacial polarization and conduction loss, whereas excessive FSC aggregation suppressed the effective magnetic response through demagnetization and skin-effect shielding, degrading impedance matching. The 1-mm-thick 40FSC/CBS coating showed stable Ku-band absorption at 600 °C, with reflection loss below −5 dB over 11.7-18.0 GHz. After metasurface loading, its effective absorption band was regulated to 8.0-13.78 GHz, covering the entire X band, and the cavity radar cross section was reduced by 12.17 dBsm.

As typical pesticide pollutants in water environments, herbicides pose a serious threat to the safety of aquatic ecosystems. However, effective methods for rapid screening are still lacking at present. This study developed a stepwise prediction method for atrazine, diquat, and glyphosate using radar fingerprint spectra derived from algal photosynthetic fluorescence responses. Microcystis aeruginosa was selected as the indicator alga from four freshwater algae. Using a strategy of “clustering dimension reduction and comprehensive scoring”, 11 parameters were selected from 26 JIP test parameters, and the optimal exposure time was determined to be 60 min. Radar fingerprint spectra were constructed from the selected parameters, and radial, geometric, and template features were extracted. Four classification and four regression algorithms were evaluated across seven feature sets using nested cross validation. The selected combinations were integrated into a stepwise prediction method following an “identification first, then quantification” strategy. Nested cross validation yielded an identification accuracy of 91.11% and R² values of 0.979, 0.790, and 0.982 for atrazine, diquat, and glyphosate, respectively. The final method achieved an independent validation accuracy of 96.67%, and the corresponding LOQs were 1 μg∙L -1 , 1 mg∙L -1 , and 6 mg∙L -1 , respectively. In filtered actual water samples individually spiked with one target herbicide, mean recoveries ranged from 94.20% to 105.65%. This study provides a novel method for translating algal physiological stress responses into structured spectral features, thereby providing methodological support for rapid detection of herbicides and for emergency monitoring and early warning of water pollution.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become a major global public health issue. Due to its insidious onset and atypical early symptoms, patients often fail to detect it in time and receive effective intervention. Therefore, conducting early screening and diagnosis is of great significance for delaying the progression of renal failure and reducing the burden on patients and society. Combining surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technology, immunochromatography and artificial intelligence algorithm, this study utilized serum kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) molecule as a key biomarker to construct a serum-based CKD diagnostic model, aiming to achieve efficient and accurate CKD screening. A total of six models were included for comparative analysis, among which the extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) model successfully achieved precise classification of CKD, with a classification accuracy of 98.42% and an area under the curve (AUC) of 99.96%. Furthermore, leave-one-out cross-validation was used to validate this model, with an overall classification accuracy of 96.79%. These results indicated that the model exhibited good stability and strong robustness. In conclusion, the artificial intelligence-driven immunochromatography SERS biosensing technology with serum KIM-1 molecule as the early warning radar is expected to become a new technical strategy for intelligent early screening and auxiliary diagnosis of CKD.
