With the rapid advancement of electronic devices, electromagnetic
radiation has increasingly caused environmental interference, thereby
stimulating the development of flexible and wearable electromagnetic
interference (EMI) shielding materials. However, it remains challenging
to achieve EMI shielding textiles that simultaneously possess facile
fabrication, high shielding efficiency, and excellent durability.
Herein, a multilevel composite conductive network composed of reduced
graphene oxide (rGO) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)
(PEDOT:PSS) was successfully constructed on silk fabric (SF) via a
layer-by-layer self-assembly strategy, resulting in a flexible EMI
shielding fabric (SF-PEDOT:PSS-rGO). Specifically, PEDOT:PSS formed
a uniform conductive coating through in situ polymerization, while
rGO further established a continuous conductive network and strengthened
the interfacial interactions among the different components. Benefiting
from the synergistic effect conductive network and interfacil interactions
among PEDOT:PSS, rGO, and SF, the resulting textile exhibited outstanding
EMI shielding performance with a maximum shielding efficiency of approximately
80%. Moreover, the fabric demonstrated excellent durability, retaining
over 80% of its initial shielding efficiency after 30 washing cycles,
while maintaining stable surface resistance and EMI shielding performance
during repeated folding and tape-peeling tests. This study provides
an effective strategy for constructing durable multilevel conductive
networks on textile substrates and offers valuable guidance for the
development of high-performance wearable EMI shielding materials.

Ammonia-assisted high-temperature reduction is exploited to create ultrathin (23.7 µm) MXene/reduced graphene oxide/Ni (MXene/rGO/Ni) composite films in which monodisperse metallic Ni nanoparticles are nanosoldered between conductive nanosheets. The single-step protocol simultaneously deoxygenates graphene oxide (GO), restores the MXene basal plane, and reduces Ni 2+ , generating an intact yet flexible layered scaffold with a through-plane electrical conductivity of 3.3 × 10 3 S m −1 and sheet resistance as low as 4.5 Ω sq −1 . The reconstructed heterointerfaces supply abundant dipole polarization centers and magnetic dissipation sites, endowing the film with an X-band electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of 35.1 dB that operates through a synergistic reflection absorption mechanism (reflection coefficient R ≈ 0.9, absorption shielding effectiveness SE A ≈ 24.9 dB). Benefiting from the dense conductive network, the film enables efficient photothermal conversion and delivers linearly tunable photothermal response with excellent cycling stability. Mechanical tensile tests give an ultimate strength of 7.4 MPa, Young's modulus of 0.97 GPa, and toughness of 31.19 KJ m −3 for rMG/Ni-600 films. The aqueous fabrication route and excellent batch-to-batch reproducibility highlight the reliability of MXene/rGO/Ni homogeneous layers as lightweight, multifunctional shields for flexible electronics and high-temperature photothermal-management platforms.

Electrocatalytic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) into 2,5-furandicarboxylate (FDCA) has attracted great attention due to its potential for producing degradable plastics. But, HMF electrooxidation still faces challenges such as high overpotentials and sluggish kinetics. Meanwhile, H2 evolution at the cathode is less cost-effective than cathodic reactions producing valuable chemicals. In view of this, a MOF-derived CoFeP cube anchored on rGO-encapsulated nickel foam (NF) via a facile wet-chemical method is reported. The CoFeP–rGO catalyst delivers a low potential of 1.38 V at a current density of 100 mA cm−2 in 1 M KOH containing 10 mM HMF, achieving ∼100% conversion, a 96% yield of FDCA, and 100% Faraday efficiency (FE). It acts as a bifunctional catalyst, demonstrating electrocatalytic reduction of nitrobenzene (NB) at low overpotential with 91% conversion. In the proposed mechanism, the CoFeP–rGO interface is proved to play a crucial role in increasing the catalytic activity via promoting dispersion of the CoFeP nanocrystals on the substrate and accelerating the electron transfer rate across the interface.

Pd-based catalysts play a pivotal role in nitroaromatic hydrogenation for fine chemical synthesis, yet their intrinsic overactivity often undermines target selectivity. In this study, we develop a highly efficient and magnetically recoverable Pd/Fe3O4–rGO catalyst for nitroaromatic hydrogenation through dual-support interfacial engineering, realized by precisely anchoring Pd nanoparticles at the heterojunctions of ferrosoferric oxide and reduced graphene oxide (Fe3O4–rGO). The dual-support modulation effect not only ensures uniform Pd distribution via strong interfacial interaction but also drives directional charge transfer from Pd to the Fe3O4–rGO composite support, synergistically enhancing nitro group adsorption and optimizing H2 dissociation kinetics. The prepared Pd/Fe3O4–rGO catalyst achieves exceptional catalytic performance with 99% conversion and >97% selectivity for the chemoselective hydrogenation of diverse nitroaromatics under mild conditions while maintaining remarkable activity/selectivity over multiple cycles. Notably, the integrated Fe3O4 component facilitates efficient magnetic separation (<2 min), demonstrating industrial viability for continuous processes. This work provides a rational dual-support strategy that simultaneously regulates spatial configuration and electronic states of active sites to overcome the activity-selectivity trade-off in hydrogenation catalysis.

Graphene, due to its unique mechanical properties, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, is considered as a reinforcement for metal materials. However, there are still issues with graphene aggregation and weak bonding at the graphene/metal interface. In this study, in-situ reduction techniques by nascent hydrogen was used to reduce graphene oxide (GO), and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) coated the Al powder to prepare composite powder. The composite powder was pre-shaped into blocks by hot-press sintering and the interface bonding issue of rGO/Al was improved by multi-pass rolling processes. Raman spectroscopy and XPS were used to analyze the reduction of GO. SEM, HRTEM and EBSD were used to analyze the composition, structure, and morphology of composites. The mechanical properties of the composite materials were studied. The results showed that GO was reduced to that almost all oxygen-containing groups were removed and uniformly dispersed in the Al matrix. The microstructure of the composites was dense, with good metallurgical bonding, and no apparent defects or porosity. When the loading amount is below 0.20 wt%, the ultimate tensile strength ( UTS ), yield strength ( YS ), and Young's modulus ( E ) were increasing along with the increased rGO content. When the addition amount was 0.20 wt%, UTS (147.67 MPa), YS (126.83 MPa), and E (36506.37 MPa), of the rGO/Al composites increased by 51.89 %, 37.87 %, and 94.48 %, compared to pure Al produced using the same process.

TEA presents substantial risks to environmental safety and human health. Thus, developing a highly efficient and precise gas sensor for TEA holds considerable practical value. In this study, In 2 O 3 /rGO heterostructures are constructed to investigate its sensing performance toward TEA. Characterization results demonstrate that In 2 O 3 nanocubes are uniformly deposited on the rGO surface, forming a unique heterostructure. The pure In 2 O 3 sensor exhibits a response of 24.04 to 100 ppm TEA gas at 280 °C. By contrast, the In 2 O 3 /rGO-0.5 % sensor has a response as high as 46.15 under the same testing conditions, which is 1.92 times that of pure In 2 O 3 sensor. Moreover, the synergistic effects between rGO and In 2 O 3 endow the heterostructure with superior long-term stability and reproducibility compared to that of pure In 2 O 3 . These results suggest that In 2 O 3 /rGO heterostructures represent potential candidates for next-generation TEA gas sensors.

Electrochemical reduction of NO to NH 3 (NORR) is an attractive approach to mildly realize NO removal and valuable NH 3 production. The electrolyte, as function as the NO absorbent, is crucial to apply electrochemical technology in practical de-NO engineering. In this paper, the ferrous chelate acted as the electrolyte for effective NO absorption in NORR based on the Brown-ring reaction. The rGO and Au/rGO catalysts served as cathodes to realize ferrous regeneration for continuous NO reduction. The results revealed that ferric chelate could be fully reduced at lower onset potential on rGO electrode. The Au/rGO catalyst exhibited excellent average yield and selectivity for NH 3 at − 0.1 V and pH = 6.32, (14.6 μmol* h −1 * cm −2 and 65.2%, respectively). The Faradaic Efficiency of NH 3 could reach 98.3% at pH = 1.0. This work provides a valuable reference for effective NO adsorption and sustainable NO-to-NH 3 conversion.

In this study, a PWF/rGO@PVA photocatalytic membrane with high stability and reusability was successfully prepared by employing a blending-coating method. Through the innovative introduction of high thermal conductivity rGO, the membrane achieved enhanced photothermal conversion, which facilitates molecular diffusion and reduces reaction energy barriers. Simultaneously, rGO acts as an electron bridge to promote charge separation and suppress carrier recombination. With an optimal photocatalyst content of 5 wt%, the PWF/rGO@PVA membrane exhibited excellent degradation rates of 0.0112 min⁻¹ and 0.0101 min⁻¹ under UV and visible light respectively, and maintained over 70% removal efficiency after five cycles. Selective laser texturing was then applied to the membrane surface, achieving degradation rates of 96.7% and 93.6% under UV and visible light respectively, and maintained over 90% removal efficiency after five cycles. On one hand, the created periodic microstructures increased specific surface area which provided additional adsorption sites and reaction interfaces and significantly enhanced the anti-reflective properties of the membrane surface. On the other hand, the laser texturing process disrupts the hydrogen bonding network of PVA, thereby suppressing warpage deformation during photocatalytic cycling and improving structural stability. Finally, the dynamic water experiments verified that at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, the photocatalytic membrane retained over 80% degradation efficiency and maintained high photocatalytic stability in dynamic water environments with varying pH and the presence of inorganic anions.

In this work, we have successfully synthesized core-shell structured Au-PDA@SiO 2 nanospheres and decorated on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) modified glassy carbon electrode for the electrochemical detection of cefotaxime. The one-pot hydrothermal method was used to synthesis core-shell nanostructures by loading Au nanoparticles on polydopamine (PDA) coated SiO 2 nanospheres. The as-prepared Au-PDA@SiO 2 nanospheres were used to fabricate electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (rGO) modified glassy carbon electrode (Au-PDA@SiO 2 /rGO/GCE) for electrochemical determination of cefotaxime. Scanning electron microscopy, powder x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy were used to confirm the structure and morphology of the as-prepared nanospheres. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were performed for electrochemical characterizations different modified electrodes. It was revealed that the nanocomposite modified electrodes exhibited excellent electrochemical performances for electrooxidation of target analytes and could achieve ultra-sensitive detections. A linear relationship was observed between peak currents and concentrations in the ranges of 1.0 × 10 −9 to 5.0 × 10 −8 M ( R 2 = 0.9877), and 1.0 × 10 −7 to 5.0 × 10 −6 M ( R 2 = 0.9821) for cefotaxime with a detection limit (S/N = 3) of 1.0 × 10 −10 M. It can be deduced that the proposed sensor is suitable for the sensitive detection of cefotaxime in pharmaceutical samples.

In this article, we constructed an electrochemical sensor for highly sensitive determination of β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) using the poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)-functionalized reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite modified electrode (PDDA-rGO/GCE). The nanocomposite was characterized by transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform-infrared spectrometry, ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrometry, cyclic voltammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The experimental results demonstrated that the fabricated sensor exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity on the oxidation of NADH with a decreased about 200 mV in overpotential and 5.0-fold increment in the oxidation peak current compared to a bare GCE. Applying cyclic voltammetry, a wide linear range from 1.0 × 10 −7 to 2.9 × 10 −3 M with low limit of detection (LOD) of 3.4 × 10 −8 M and high sensitivity of 463.3 μA mM −1 cm −2 were obtained, which was superior to other NADH electrochemical sensors reported previously. Furthermore, the fabricated NADH sensor possessed excellent selectivity, reproducibility, and stability. The oxidation mechanism of NADH at the PDDA-rGO/GCE was also discussed in detail.
A simple NADH sensing platform based on PDDA-rGO composite is constructed, which exhibits an ultra-low detection limit ( 3.4×10-8 M) towards the oxidation of NADH, and the electrochemical reaction mechanism of NADH is discussed in detail.

As a result of their lightweight properties and high dielectric loss, graphene and their composites have attracted great attention for potential applications in wave absorption. Herein, we report room temperature conditions for the synthesis of a 3D composite hydrogel composed of reduced graphene oxide nanosheets and Fe3O4 nanoparticles (RGO–Fe3O4). The experimental results show that the composite has an interconnected 3D porous network with micrometer-sized pores, and that the Fe3O4 nanoparticles with a small size of about 5–10 nm are uniformly dispersed onto the thin graphene nanosheets. The as-prepared RGO–Fe3O4 composite hydrogel shows excellent microwave absorbability compared with previously reported nanocomposites based on graphene and Fe3O4. The obtained composite with a coating layer thickness of only 2.5 mm exhibits a maximum absorption of −47.9 dB at 10.1 GHz. In particular, the product with a coating layer thickness of only 2.0 mm shows a bandwidth of 5.3 GHz (from frequency of 11.3–16.6 GHz) corresponding to reflection loss at −10 dB (90% absorption). Additionally, the fabrication method is simple, low cost and easily done on a large scale. This further confirms that nanoscale Fe3O4 particles on graphene networks give the composite hydrogel the ability to realize practical applications for wave absorption.

In this study, flake-like reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was integrated with filamentous carbon nanotube (CNT) in different ways to prepare CNT-rGO composite membranes with three distinctive types of nanostructures . These membranes were further assessed at bench scale to determine the relationship between nanocomposite structure and membrane performance , including clean water permeability, removal efficiencies for pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCP), and resistance to organic fouling. Among the three types of prepared membranes, the membrane with CNT evenly distributed in the rGO layer outperformed other membranes in terms of PPCP removal efficiencies (76–100%), clean water permeability (4454 L m −2 h −1 bar −1 ), and antifouling property. Further membrane characterization using scanning electron microscopy and other analytical techniques revealed that the outstanding performance of this membrane resulted from the open CNT-rGO nanostructure that was beneficial for water permeation, PPCP adsorption, and membrane fouling reduction. Overall, these results demonstrated that, under the condition of similar compositions and surface properties, the nanostructures of CNT-rGO membranes significantly influenced membrane performance. Therefore, it is feasible to manipulate the nanostructures of CNT-rGO composite membranes to achieve high clean membrane permeability, outstanding antifouling property, and efficient contaminant removal .
