Fluoride-containing wastewater pollution poses a serious threat to the global environment. Adsorption represents the most widely employed defluoridation process. Among various adsorbents, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) demonstrate considerable potential. However, current zirconium-based MOFs for fluoride removal face challenges such as high cost, low adsorption capacity, insufficient mechanistic understanding, and difficulties in reuse due to the lack of stable immobilization methods. Herein, a zirconium‑cerium MOF (denoted as Zr/Ce-M) was prepared by doping MOF-801 with the low-cost metal cerium. At an initial F − concentration of 26 mg/L, its actual adsorption capacity reached 213 mg/g. This represents a 326% improvement compared to conventional MOF-801 and is 66% higher than the adsorbent with the highest known adsorption capacity.Further, zirconium/cerium MOF-based sponge (Zr/Ce-MS) was prepared via a simple method. Zr/Ce-MS exhibited exceptional loading stability under mechanical stress and solvent corrosion. Regeneration tests confirmed effective fluoride removal after eight cycles. Computational results revealed an upward shift in the d-band center of metals and enhanced electron-donating capability after Ce doping. Monodentate coordination (Zr F and Ce F) proved more stable than μ₂- or μ₃-bridging configurations. Strong hybridization occurred between Zr d/Ce d and F p orbitals, with Ce doping strengthening electron transfer from Zr to F − . The defluoridation mechanism of Zr/Ce-MS involves ion exchange, electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding, and Lewis acid–base complexation. This work provides new insights for developing fluoride adsorbents and mechanistic analysis.

Fusarium wilt, caused by the soil-borne fungusFusarium oxysporumf. sp.lycopersici(Fol), is a devastating disease that severely constrains tomato production worldwide. In this study, an endophytic bacterium, designated ZN-S18, was isolated from healthy tomato stems and identified asBacillus amyloliquefaciensbased on phylogenetic analyses of the 16S rRNA andrpoBgenes. Dual culture assays demonstrated that ZN-S18 exhibited strong antagonistic activity against Fol and significantly inhibited fungal mycelial growth. The cell-free culture filtrate of ZN-S18 markedly suppressed Fol spore germination and mycelial growth, and the inhibitory effect on spore germination was irreversible. LC-MS analyses confirmed that ZN-S18 produces the cyclic lipopeptides surfactin and iturin A. In planta assays further demonstrated that pretreatment with ZN-S18, its culture filtrate, or the combination of surfactin and iturin A significantly reduced Fusarium wilt in tomato seedlings. Moreover, the culture filtrate disrupted fungal cell wall integrity, as indicated by the increased sensitivity of Fol to Congo red stress. Notably, the combined application of surfactin and iturin A exhibited significantly stronger antifungal activity than either compound alone under Congo red-containing conditions, suggesting a synergistic effect on fungal cell wall integrity. Collectively, these findings indicate that the endophytic strainB. amyloliquefaciensZN-S18 is a promising biocontrol agent against tomato Fusarium wilt, primarily through the synergistic action of surfactin and iturin A. This study provides an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical fungicides and establishes a foundation for future investigations into the molecular mechanisms underlying lipopeptide-mediated antagonism.

Precise control of the photogenerated charge dynamics and the electronic configuration of active sites is key to enhancing the performance of photocatalytic hydrogen-producing materials. Here, we report an efficient one-pot strategy to prepare sulfur-doped g-C 3 N 4 (SCN). Furthermore, a PtNd/SCN composite photocatalyst was successfully fabricated by loading a platinum (Pt)‑neodymium (Nd) alloy onto the SCN surface via an H 2 reduction method. Using trithiocyanuric acid as a single precursor to supply C, N, and S enables uniform S doping within the g-C 3 N 4 framework, broadening the light absorption range and optimizing the band structure. Pt serves as the primary hydrogen-evolving active site, while Nd acts as an “electronic co-catalyst” for Pt, forming strong electronic interactions through its unique 4f orbital structure. HRTEM and XPS analyses confirm the formation of a Pt Nd alloy interface and directional electron transfer from Nd to Pt, effectively modulating the Pt d-band center and optimizing the adsorption free energy of hydrogen intermediates, thereby significantly enhancing hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) kinetics. The experimental results show that the optimized PtNd/SCN composite photocatalyst exhibits a markedly enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production rate under simulated sunlight, reaching 5468 μmol·g −1 ·h −1 —5 times higher than Pt/CN (1074 μmol·g −1 ·h −1 ) and 1.3 times that of Pt/SCN (4076 μmol·g −1 ·h −1 ). PL, TRPL, and photoelectrochemical measurements confirm that the introduction of Nd promotes the migration of photo-generated electrons from SCN to Pt, thereby significantly suppressing carrier recombination. This study reveals the unique mechanism by which the rare earth element Nd acts as an electronic regulator for the d-band center of Pt, providing new insights into the design of photocatalytic systems with low Pt loading. Antibody-targeted radioimmunotherapy holds significant potential for solid tumor treatment. However, intact antibodies (IgG) and fragments (F(ab’) 2 ) may exhibit distinct pharmacokinetic and radiation delivery properties due to differences in molecular size and Fc functionality. TROP2 is highly overexpressed in most malignant tumors but minimally expressed in normal tissues. Therefore, the anti-TROP2 antibody was selected as the targeting agent in this study. We prepared the F(ab’) 2 antibody fragments of anti-TROP2 antibody and systematically compared the in vitro and in vivo behaviors of [ 177 Lu]Lu-DOTA-anti-TROP2 antibody and [ 177 Lu]Lu-DOTA-anti-TROP2-F(ab’) 2 antibody fragments to optimize radioligand therapy strategies. Cell binding assays were conducted to evaluate their TROP2 antigen binding affinity. In vivo distributions in tumors and normal organs were investigated through Micro-SPECT/CT imaging and biodistribution studies using tumor-bearing mice. The results demonstrated that, compared to the anti-TROP2 antibody, the anti-TROP2-F(ab’) 2 antibody fragments exhibited superior blood clearance kinetics as well as lower accumulation in liver and spleen. This could reduce the radiation side effects of [ 177 Lu]Lu-DOTA-anti-TROP2-F(ab’) 2 antibody fragments on bone marrow or other full-antibody target normal organs. However, cutting Fc from the full anti-TROP2 antibody increased renal accumulation and exhibited shedding phenomena following tumor targeting.

Cr/F co-doped LiMn 2 O 4 was compared with undoped, Cr-only and F-only spinel controls. • Co-doping raised 1C capacity to 124.6 mAh g −1 and HCDI Li + uptake to 35.07 mg g −1 . • The co-doped electrode kept 83% of its Li + uptake over 100 cycles with 1.4% Mn loss. • A reference-cell test traced most capacity fade to the carbon counter electrode. • Li + /Mg 2+ separation factor of 24.0 in untreated old brine with acid-free desorption. Spinel LiMn 2 O 4 (LMO) is a Li + -selective intercalation host for hybrid capacitive deionization (HCDI), but Jahn–Teller distortion and Mn dissolution limit its durability in Mg-rich brines. Here, Cr 3+ and F − were introduced at the nominal cationic and anionic sites of LMO to obtain LiCr 0.05 Mn 1.95 O 3.95 F 0.05 (CFLMO), and undoped, Cr-only (CrLMO) and F-only (FLMO) controls were prepared by the same route. XRD and FTIR showed that the average spinel framework was retained, and Cr 2p and F 1s XPS detected both added elements near the CFLMO surface. At 1C, CFLMO delivered a discharge capacity of 124.6 mAh g −1 (84% of the theoretical value), compared with 92.1 mAh g −1 for LMO. In HCDI tests with 32.74 mg L −1 Li + , CFLMO reached a salt adsorption capacity (SAC) of 35.07 mg g −1 at a charge efficiency of 0.89. After 100 adsorption–desorption cycles against an activated‑carbon (AC) counter electrode, CFLMO retained 83% of its initial SAC with a Mn dissolution ratio of 1.4%; replacing the AC electrode in an LMO||AC reference cell restored part of the lost adsorption response, identifying a counter-electrode contribution to cell-level capacity loss. In untreated Yiliping salt-lake old brine (Mg 2+ /Li + mass ratio 36.1), three CFLMO electrodes recovered 37.5 ± 1.5 mg g −1 Li + with a Li + /Mg 2+ separation factor of 24.0 ± 2.7, and desorption into pure water lowered the Mg 2+ /Li + mass ratio to 1.52 ± 0.18. The matched-control and real-brine results support Cr/F-modified LMO as a candidate for selective lithium recovery from Mg-rich salt-lake brines.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a highly malignant cancer with limited treatment options. HCC cells (HCCs) activate hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) and transform them into cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), forming a vicious cycle for hepatocarcinogenesis. Therefore, inhibition of the communication between HCCs and HSCs is expected to emerge as a novel strategy for HCC treatment. Artematrolide F (AF), a sesquiterpenoid dimers (SDs) isolated from Artemisia atrovirens , exhibited significantly inhibitory activity on tumor cells in our previous report, but its mechanism remains unknown. This further study demonstrated that AF significantly inhibited the proliferation, colony formation and metastasis of HCCs. Notably, the inhibitory effect was enhanced when HCCs were cocultured with HSCs, suggesting that AF may suppress tumor progression through regulating the crosstalk of HCCs and HSCs. The vesicular transport protein YKT6 was identified as a target of AF through integrating bioinformatics analysis and machine learning model, which were verified by DARTS, CETSA, molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulation, and knockdown experiments. Further mechanistic research revealed that AF targeting YKT6 disrupted the crosstalk between HSCs and HCCs, suppressed HSC-driven tumor proliferation by inhibiting extracellular vesicles (EVs) secretion from HCCs, and blocked tumor autophagy by disrupting vesicular transport. These findings demonstrate that AF could serve as a novel therapeutic candidate for HCC treatment through regulating YKT6 to suppress HCCs–HSCs communication, block EV-dependent tumor progression, and inhibit tumor autophagy.

High-quality SnO 2 :F films with an area of 15×15 cm 2 were prepared from stannic chloride (SnCl 4 ) solution via a house-made ultrasonic spray pyrolysis instrument. The focus of this investigation was on the volatilization of solution and doping process of fluorine, the main influencing factors on F doping content, and the effects of F doping content on the crystal structure, surface morphology, electrical, and optical properties. The results indicated that the crystallinity was enhanced with increasing doping concentration; the films exhibited (101) oriented growth and the resistivity decreased at first and then increased. During the preparation route, the droplet momentum and the temperature field above the hot plate demonstrate the most dominate influence on the film’s properties. The spray droplet gradually hydrolyzed during the moving process from sprinkler to substrate while the F doping content decreased with the increasing distance between the sprinkler and the substrate. By controlling the doping of F, high-quality and large area SnO 2 :F films with a resistivity of 1.2×10 -3 Ω⋅cm and a visible light transmittance of 82% were prepared, demonstrating a promising application for organic solar cells and low emissivity glass.

A simple Schiff base probe ( E )- N′ -(1-(3-oxo-3 H -benzo[f]chromen-2-yl)ethylidene) picolinohydrazide (CHH) was synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance spectra ( 1 H NMR), 13 C nuclear magnetic resonance spectra ( 13 C NMR), and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HR-MS). The probe CHH shows high sensitivity and selectivity for the recognition of Cu 2+ in EtOH-H 2 O (1:1, v/v), and exhibits an enhanced fluorescence phenomenon. The binding constant of CHH for Cu 2+ is 2.74 × 10 5 M −1 , and the binding stoichiometry of CHH and Cu 2+ is 1:1. The fluorescence intensity of CHH (10 μM) is well linearized with the Cu 2+ concentration at 0–10 μM, and it has a detection limit of 1.42 nM, which is lower than the detection limits of most similar probes. The reusability of the probe was evaluated by successively adding Cu 2+ and disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate (Na 2 EDTA) to the CHH solution. The probe CHH was used to quantitatively detect Cu 2+ in actual water samples from different water sources. The recovery rates were within an acceptable range, indicating that the probe CHH can be used for the quantitative detection of Cu 2+ in actual water samples. Furthermore, the probe was applied for fingerprint detection, showing great potential in fingerprint detection and anti-counterfeiting.

Based on the Na 0.48 La 0.52 MoO 4 ceramic, this study replaced La 3+ ions with Nd 3+ ions through ion substitution, which significantly increased the Q × f of Na 0.48 La 0.52 MoO 4 and reduced the sintering temperature. The good sintering state of this series of ceramics was demonstrated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and density tests. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy results revealed the formation of solid solutions without the presence of secondary phases or impurities. The P–V–L theory indicated that the Na/La/Nd–O bond-to-bond ionicity (fi) contribution was dominant, while the Mo–O bond also played a significant role in the lattice energy ( U ), bond energy ( E ), and thermal expansion coefficient ( α ). Among them, the Na 0.48 La 0.48 Nd 0.04 MoO 4 ceramic achieved the best dielectric performance at 900 °C, with ɛ r = 11.027 ± 0.018, Q × f = 113,805 ± 6,358 GHz, and τ f = − 23.36 ppm/℃. Through ion substitution, these materials all have low sintering temperatures and high Q × f values, making them ideal candidates for low-temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC).

Spinel Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 co-doped with Mg 2+ and F − was synthesized by solid-state reaction of anatase TiO 2 , Li 2 CO 3 , NH 4 F, and Mg(NO 3 ) 2 . For comparison, Mg 2+ -doped and F − -doped Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 were prepared using the same method. The structure and electrochemical performance of the prepared materials were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and galvanostatic charge-discharge tests. Using an internal standard and Rietveld refinement, we calculated the lattice parameters of the samples. After co-doping with Mg 2+ and F − , the dopant ions enter the Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 lattice, resulting in the reduction of Ti 4+ to Ti 3+ , and increasing the conductivity of the material. Furthermore, the Mg 2+ and F − co-doping technique resulted in smaller primary particles with a narrow size distribution, factors that can accelerate transfer of Li + between the electrode and electrolyte. Consequently, the Mg 2+ and F − co-doped Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 material exhibits a superior rate performance and delivers discharge capacities of 159.4, 154.1, 146.5, 120.8, 102.7, and 76 mAh g −1 at 0.2C, 0.5C, 1C, 3C, 5C, and 10C, respectively, significantly higher than those of pure Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 (155.4, 138.6, 124.2, 94.1, 76.7, and 52.2 mAh g −1 at the same C-rates). Moreover, the Mg 2+ and F − co-doped Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 showed outstanding cycling stability, and the capacity retention was 99.62% after 150 cycles at 5C rate. Therefore, the Mg 2+ and F − co-doping technique has proven an effective approach to improve the electrochemical performance of Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 .

An approach to the detection of F−ions in food samples was developed based on a “switch-off-on” fluorescence probe of silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs). The fluorescence of the synthetic SiNPs was gradually quenched in the presence of Fe3+ion and slightly recovered with the addition of F−ion owing to the formation of a stable and colorless ferric fluoride. The fluorescence recovery exhibited a good linear relationship (R2= 0.9992) as the concentration of F−ion increased from 0 to 100 μmol·L−1. The detection limit of the established method of F−ion was 0.05 μmol·L−1. The recovery experiments confirmed the accuracy and reliability of the proposed method. The ultraviolet–visible spectra, fluorescence decays, and zeta potentials evidenced the fluorescence quenching mechanism involving the electron transfer between the SiNPs and Fe3+ion, while the fluorescence recovery resulted from the formation of ferric fluoride. Finally, SiNPs were successfully applied to detect F−ions in tap water, Antarctic krill, and Antarctic krill powder.Keywords:determination;Fe3+ion;F−ion;fluorescence switch-off-on;silicon nanoparticles;Antarctic krill

The wastewater discharge from the process of chrome plating, which contains 6:2 chlorinated polyfluorinated ether sulfonate (F-53B) and chromium (Cr), may be toxic to biofilm. In this study we found that the biofilm formed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 was inhibited by exposure to a combination of F-53B and Cr(VI). The combined pollution damaged the cell membranes and the structure of the biofilm, and inhibited the production of the Pseudomonas quinolone-based signal, which affected biofilm formation. Moreover, the secretion of extracellular polymeric substances decreased as a result of this combined exposure. Exposure to F-53B and Cr(VI) individually or in combination could induce the excessive accumulation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), and the ROS positive rate of the bacteria increased under the treatment with 0.2 mmol/L of Cr(VI) and 250 nmol/L of F-53B, respectively. In addition, the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) were enhanced for scavenging ROS in the bacteria that were exposed to Cr(VI) and F-53B. As an antioxidant, rutin was used to repair the toxicity of Cr(VI) and F-53B towards the biofilm formed by the bacteria. When rutin was added to the bacteria medium, with either Cr(VI) or F-53B as pollutant, or with the combined pollutants, the extracellular protein content of the bacteria recovered to 0.84, 0.94, and 0.85 times that of the control, respectively. Meanwhile, the accumulation of ROS and the activities of SOD and CAT decreased, which indicated that the addition of rutin can alleviate the oxidative stress and promote the antioxidant stress system.
