Hollow Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene nanospheres are synthesized via a sacrificial PS template to boost electroactive surface area. • The sensor achieves high AA sensing performance (0.394 μA·μM −1 , LOD 6.1 μM) covering sweat physiological concentration range. • A CNN-LSTM model is built to predict steady-state current using only 20 s transient chronoamperometric response. Real-time wearable health monitoring is frequently bottlenecked by the slow kinetic equilibrium of electrochemical sensors, which delays data acquisition and hinders high-frequency sampling. To bridge the gap between high sensitivity and rapid readout, this study presents a synergistic sensing strategy coupling hollow Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene nanospheres with a deep learning-enabled predictive algorithm for the detection of ascorbic acid (AA) in sweat. Structurally, the hollow Ti 3 C 2 T x spheres, synthesized via a sacrificial polystyrene template, provide a significantly enhanced electroactive surface area, achieving a high sensitivity of 0.394 μA·μM −1 and a limit of detection of 6.1 μM. Crucially, to resolve the trade-off between measurement accuracy and readout speed, a convolutional neural network–long short-term memory (CNN–LSTM) cascade model was constructed. The CNN–LSTM model predicted the 60 s reference current from the first 20 s transient response, reducing the effective readout time by approximately 67%. Real-sweat validation was further performed using samples collected from five volunteers after exercise, with each sample measured in triplicate. The AA concentrations calculated from the conventional 60 s current-based method ranged from 22.05 to 36.22 μM, while the CNN–LSTM-predicted concentrations showed relative errors of 3.12–11.04% compared with the conventional readout., This integration of advanced hollow nanostructures with transient-signal learning establishes a robust pathway for next-generation wearables requiring instantaneous bio-fluid analysis. Unlike traditional methods that await steady-state current (∼60 s), this algorithm extracts deep temporal features from the initial 20 s of the transient chronoamperometric response to accurately forecast the final equilibrium signal. The model demonstrates exceptional predictive accuracy (deviation <2.8%) while reducing the detection latency by approximately 67%. Validated in human sweat samples (29.4 μM AA), this integration of advanced hollow nanostructures with transient-signal learning establishes a robust pathway for next-generation wearables requiring instantaneous bio-fluid analysis. The formulation and improvement of high-efficiency lubricant additives on the basis of novel two-dimensional MXene materials have drawn increasing attention in recent years. Herein, we report the synthesis of N, P doped Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene using ammonium hypophosphite as the N/P source, followed by surface modification with catechol-containing ionic liquid to obtain ionic liquid-functionalized MXene. Tribological tests reveal that ILs@N, P‑MXene markedly improve the tribological properties of 500SN with 0.75 wt% addition. Compared with the lubricant 500SN, the mean COF is reduced to 0.107, the wear volume decreases by 65.8%, and their load-carrying ability is improved to 650 N from 150 N. XPS analysis indicates that ILs@N, P-MXene undergoes tribochemical reactions with the steel substrates during sliding, forming a continuous and stable protective tribofilm comprising carbonitrides, iron oxides, titanium oxides and iron phosphates. This in-situ formed tribofilm successfully inhibits direct asperity contact between the mating surfaces, thereby endowing the lubricant system with good load-carrying capacity and improved tribological performance.

Cation-disordered rocksalt (DRX) cathodes have emerged as promising candidates for next-generation energy storage due to their high theoretical capacity and reliance on earth-abundant elements. However, their practical implementation is severely limited by inherently sluggish electrical conductivity and restricted Li + diffusion. In this study, we propose a facile structural engineering strategy by incorporating few-layer Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene, prepared via ball-milling, as a multifunctional conductive additive for Li 1.2 Mn 0.4 Ti 0.4 O 2 DRX cathodes. By synergistically coupling 2D MXene nanosheets with conventional 0D carbon black, a robust hierarchical “point-to-surface” conductive network is successfully constructed. Systematic electrochemical characterizations reveal that optimal MXene integration not only serves as a physical protective barrier but also provides accessible sites for transient lithium-ion storage, thereby collectively accelerating Li + /electron transport and mitigating interfacial polarization. Consequently, the optimized composite electrode with 20% MXene additive delivers a remarkably high initial discharge capacity of 203.7 mAh g − 1 at 0.1 C, substantially outperforming the pristine electrode (165.2 mAh g − 1 ), alongside markedly superior rate capability and structural reversibility. This work provides critical mechanistic insights into MXene-mediated modifications and offers a sustainable pathway for the design of high-performance Mn-based DRX cathodes.

MXenes have emerged as promising support materials for Pt nanoparticles due to their large surface area and exceptional conductivity, which can substantially reduce Pt loading while enhancing hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity per unit mass of Pt. Consequently, structural optimization of MXenes to simultaneously improve Pt atomic utilization efficiency and interfacial stability has become a critical research focus. This study presents a novel strategy utilizing Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene with engineered Ti vacancies as a support for synthesizing Pt@MXene (PMX- x ) electrocatalysts through a self-reduction stabilization process. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses reveal the presence of Ti vacancies in the MXenes structure at varying concentrations, which are significantly reduced or eliminated upon Pt incorporation, accompanied by strong interactions between Pt and MXenes. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations demonstrated that Pt atoms occupied Ti vacancy sites and achieved optimal hydrogen adsorption free energy (ΔG H* = -0.38 eV), and finally leading to a significantly improved HER kinetics. As a result, the optimized catalyst exhibited superior electrochemical performance in 0.5 M H 2 SO 4 , which was 16.8-fold in Pt mass activity (5.05 A mg·Pt −1 at η = -75 mV) compared to commercial Pt/C (0.30 A mg·Pt −1 at η = -75 mV). This vacancy-mediated anchoring strategy establishes a new paradigm for designing high-efficiency, low-Pt electrocatalysts and demonstrates promising potential for industrial applications.

Rational design and constructed new electrode material as high performance electrochemical sensor with outstanding selectivity, reproducibility and stability is an urgent demand for trace detection. Herein, a novel Ce-MOF/Ti 3 C 2 T X MXene composite as electrochemical sensor for L-Tryptophan (L-Trp) was constructed by utilizing the three-dimensional straw-sheaf-like Ce-MOF and Ti 3 C 2 T X MXene nanosheets . The combination of Ce-MOF and Ti 3 C 2 T X MXene not only significantly improves the conductivity of metal-organic framework (MOF) but also effectively prevents the stacking of Ti 3 C 2 T X MXene nanosheets. The electrochemical properties of the proposed sensor were investigated by electrochemical techniques in detail. The L-Trp sensor exhibits a wide linear range (0.2 μM–139 μM) and a low limit of detection (0.19 μM, S/N = 3). Moreover, the proposed sensor exhibits excellent selectivity, good reproducibility and long-term stability, as well as satisfactory practical ability in real blood serum samples.

Nowadays, multifunctional electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbing aerogels have attracted much attention due to intelligent and wearable features for electronic devices. However, the utilization of these aerogels at elevated temperature is still challenge. Herein, we describe a robust strategy to fabricate architecturally controllable and multifunctional Ti 3 C 2 T X MXene/aramid nanofiber (ANF)/polyimide (PI) aerogels with desirable EM wave absorption, adjustable mechanical property, and high thermal insulation . Rational structural design endows the aerogels with an effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 4.2 GHz (covering whole X-band) at 250 °C. Exploration of the temperature response over 25–250 °C reveals that the microstructure characters of the aerogels contribute substantially to the EM parameters at elevated temperature, while the in-depth temperature-dependent mechanisms of aerogel EM performance are well studied. Further, through regulating the microstructure, the MXene/ANF/PI aerogels also exhibit tunable mechanical performance (maximum compressive stress of 334.3 KPa at 40% compression) and promising thermal insulation performance (0.029 ± 0.003 W mK −1 , closing to air). These multifunctional aerogels light the way to potential application in the EM wave absorption field of flexible devices at elevated temperature.

Tuning the electrical conductivity of two-dimensional (2D) MXenes by modifying the termination groups and controlled oxidation offers great potential for photovoltaic applications. Here, in-situ-oxidized Ti3C2Tx (O–Ti3C2Tx) MXene was introduced to form a nanoscale heterojunction with SnO2 that was applied as an electron transport layer (ETL) in a MAPbI3 perovskite solar cell (PSC). Taking advantage of the transition from metallicity to semiconductivity during the oxidation process of Ti3C2Tx, the properties of Ti3C2Tx could be tuned to have its energy levels well matched with the perovskite. Besides, the insertion of O–Ti3C2Tx improved the electron mobility of the SnO2 ETL. Hence, the O–Ti3C2Tx/SnO2 heterojunction offered better electron extraction and reduced recombination between the ETL and the perovskite, thus rendering an increase of the power conversion efficiency (PCE) from 17.68% to 20.09% and enhancement of stability in air.

Stereolithographic 3D printing has been increasingly applied in the rapid fabrication of gels with specially-designed 3D structures. Herein, MXene (Ti 3 C 2 T x ) is reported for the first time as a versatile photo blocker for a photo-curable aqueous ink for a newly developed stereolithography technology (Continuous Liquid Interface Production, CLIP) to fabricate hydrogels with delicate geometries. As an effective photo blocker, the MXene nanosheets can significantly suppress the light scatting in the hydrogel precursor ink during CLIP printing, giving rise to printing quality. Subsequent solvent exchange with glycerin produces an organogel, which shows excellent adhesive properties towards various surfaces, making it a promising adhesive sensor to detect different body movements. Meanwhile, the CLIP-printed organogel demonstrates promise in atmospheric water harvesting taking advantage of the natural hygroscopicity of organogel and excellent light-to-heat conversion performance with MXene nanosheets. Furthermore, the CLIP-printed hollow organogel shows higher efficiency benefiting from larger surface area of hollow organogel. The results of this work strongly suggest that MXene can serve as an effective multifunctional additive for CLIP inks, which may open up new opportunities for the 3D printing of various advanced devices.

The development of electronics proposes higher requirements for flexible, transparent, and conductive materials with high electromagnetic shielding performance in viewing windows. Flexible transparent films have been fabricated by collaborating one-dimensional silver nanowires (AgNWs) and novel two-dimensional Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene sheets on PET films with an external polymeric coating consisting of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS). Especially, the combination of different dimensional nanomaterials effectively establishes a conductive network that exhibits a synergistic effect on excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance, which is superior to that of pure AgNW network or Ti 3 C 2 T x network to some extent. By optimizing the AgNWs content (0.05 mg/cm 2 ) and Ti 3 C 2 T x sheets content (0.01 mg/cm 2 ), the PET/AgNW/Ti 3 C 2 T x /PVA-PSS film exhibits a transmittance of 81% and a desirable EMI SE value of 30.5 dB. In addition, the film shows outstanding anti-fogging and frost-resistant properties due to the remarkable water absorption capacity of PVA and PSS on the external surface. Considering its efficiency and simplicity, this transparent conductive film has promising applications in flexible transparent electronic devices and optical related fields.

The rapid development of electronic devices has led to widespread demand and research on electronic packaging materials with electromagnetic shielding and thermal conductivity (TC) properties due to the inevitable issues of the electromagnetic radiation and thermal accumulation. However, there exists a huge challenge to simultaneously achieve high electromagnetic shielding and TC as well as the electrical insulation requirement as electromagnetic shielding predominantly relies on electrical conductivity of materials. Multilayer structure can endow composite materials with a variety of properties. Therefore, in this work, we fabricated sandwiched cellulose nanofiber/boron nitride nanosheet/Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene films by using a simple and effective alternating vacuum filtration method, and as a result, the special sandwich structure endows the film with excellent electromagnetic shielding, insulation and TC performance. The composite film has an extremely high electromagnetic shielding effectiveness up to 60.7 dB at 8.2 GHz as well as still maintains good electrical insulation properties due to the presence of the CNF/BNNS layer on the surface. Moreover, when the content of BNNS in the CNF/BNNS layer reaches 70 wt%, the sandwiched film has excellent in-plane TC of 19.97 W m −1 K −1 . The sandwiched film with excellent electromagnetic shielding and high TC yet insulation performance has great application value in highly integrated electronic devices.

Polyaniline (PANI) is a promising cathode material for Zn-ion batteries (ZIBs) due to its intrinsic conductivity and redox activity; however, the achievements of PANI in high-performance ZIBs are largely hindered by its instability during the repeated charge/discharge. Taking advantage of the high conductivity, flexibility, and grafting ability together, a surface-engineered Ti3C2Tx MXene is designed as a silver bullet to fight against the deprotonation and swelling/shrinking issues occurring in the redox process of PANI, which are the origins of its instability. Specifically, the sulfonic-group-grafted Ti3C2Tx(S-Ti3C2Tx) continuously provides protons to improve the protonation degree of PANI and maintains the polymer backbone at a locally low pH, which effectively inhibits deprotonation and brings high redox activity along with good reversibility. Meanwhile, the conductive and flexible natures of S-Ti3C2Tx assist the fast redox reaction of PANI and concurrently buffer its corresponding swelling/shrinking. Therefore, the S-Ti3C2Tx-enhanced PANI cathode simultaneously achieves a high discharge capacity of 262 mAh g–1 at 0.5 A g–1, a superior rate capability of 160 mAh g–1 at 15 A g–1, and a good cyclability over 5000 cycles with 100% coulombic efficiency. This work enlightens the development of versatile MXene via surface engineering for advanced batteries.

The increasing demand for wearable electronics and the intensification of electromagnetic pollution have boosted the exploration of high-performance flexible microwave absorption (MA) materials. Herein, the hierarchical Ti3C2Tx MXene/Ni chain/ZnO array hybrid nanostructures are rationally constructed on cotton fabric for acquiring enhanced MA performance and durable self-cleaning ability. Based on the high dielectric loss capacity of MXenes and ZnO arrays, by controlling dip-coating numbers of Ni chains, the magnetic loss can be manipulated to modulate the impedance matching, reflection loss (RL), and effective absorption bandwidth (EAB, the bandwidth of RL < −10 dB). The minimum RL value of the designed fabric can reach −35.1 dB at 8.3 GHz with a thickness of 2.8 mm, and its EAB can cover the whole X-band with only a 2.2 mm thickness. In addition, the designed fabric also exhibits superior liquid repellency and durable self-cleaning ability due to the combination of the hybrid nanostructures and a superhydrophobic coating. This work provides an insight for rational design of textile-based MA materials, showing potential applications in flexible and wearable functional electronics.
